You can't make spells that target objects... :( And the luggage is already a spell in Dragonborn: the daedric butler.

did you like any of the other ideas?

So yes, learnable versions are different

 

This is what Bloodstar looks like when you learn it. How to learn a spell? As of now, the idea is that you can research the effects of a staff by using it on a marked unwilling subject (randomly chosen from the environment, ala Harrier/Whispers) until you can reproduce it.

Sever

 

There is currently someone in the Apocalypse thread complaining about Wither, so here is a more useful version. It prevents a target from regenerating magicka or stamina for 30 seconds (lengthened by dual casting etc). Also, when cast it deals an immediate 33% damage to magicka and stamina. Cast it a few times to sap the target dry and leave him with no regeneration.

There will also be a spell that nukes targets based on missing stamina and magicka, which goes well with this.

Yup this would be cool. :3

 

Hmmm... btw... another two ideas:

 

-Maybe something like the Force Wall from the Original apoc? It could fit the tech theme

 

-Maybe a spell that incorporates the slow time effect when warriors block the attack with this special perk from the block tree? It would be used as a slow time effect... for the time machine? :3

How about heat-vision goggles? Once equipped, give a lesser power that has custom animation (or maybe just shout animation) and blast the opponent with intense heat, before going on cooldown. So essentially it will be like a technological shout.

what about a hologram device that works like Midas Magic - Imagine Sabrecat etc..

 

Holo-Illusion

 

It creates a ghost like hologram of a dwemer centurion or something similar and makes low level characters run and makes higher level characters get distracted by attacking the hologram freeing you some time to select and use a more devastating spell.

 

Elder Knowledge

 

This is a spell which works like the clairvoyance spell. Showing you the way to your quest marker but it works with a slightly different effect. A more intense glowing light beam follows the direction to your target. It is kind of like a dwemer sat nav :)

Utility!

Don't just cast magic, be a mage. As for that amulet, most effects that would be toggles in Apocalypse are now item based unless they have configuration options (eg Spell Sentinel). The funny thing about Inertial Slingshot is that it doesn't cause hostility, so you can travel through towns in quite a hurry.

Rocket Jockey

You can't learn this one. It's a rocket that attaches itself to a target and propels it in random directions. So it's like Throw with twice the humour.

Cloudbreaker MIRV

No problem in Skyrim is too big to solve with a sufficiently large amount of explosives.

Portal Network

Provides access to a dwemer portal nexus at... wherever the dwemer are now. Place up to four entrance points and conduct your business at the speed of thought. Now you're thinking like immortals.

Meanwhile during a sleepless night (literally) I added Galvanize as an armor-stealing variant of Inertial Slingshot, renamed that amulet to Amulet of Arcenlight (as a reference to both the Arcenstone and arc lamps) and failed to implement Loot Magnet, but that spell would be such a killer app that there absolutely positively has to be a way to implement it.
