Crash at launch and "Corrupted Installation" error when trying to enter the plugin launcher menu, even after full reinstall. I'm sick of t

Heya,

The title explains it al. I can't longer play Oblivion because of my game always crashing whileas it didn't even reached the middle of the loading bar. First, I was thinking it was related to mods, but when it still didn't work even with all mods disabled, I actually managed to go in the launcher's plugin menu. The launcher gave me a "Corrupted Installation" error and said me it couldn't find the data files ; I looked in the Windows registry and however the "Installed Path" entry was definitely here, with the correct value.

Finally, I decided to do not break my brain and to fully reinstall the game. The same scenario did happen. Three damn times. I'm really sick of this, it's sad to see Oblivion is certainly the less stable game of the series because it's the one I prefer the most... I'm on Windows 7, I DON'T install my games in Program Files (even x86) but on a separate SSD.

Just ask me if you need more details. Help please.

First off, I had that problem a long time ago, and what I had to do was rename my Oblivion.ini, because in the time when I first played Oblivion, and then decided to play it again, I had changed Graphic Cards etc, and the configuration that was in my old Oblivion.ini caused Oblivion to crash halfway through the loading progress bar.
Renaming the Oblivion.ini in order to force the game to generate a new one fixed it for me.

ANOTHER Problem could be having DarnUI installed incorrectly, or a missing xml file, such as installing DarnUI, and having Oblivion Reloaded Installed, then Removing Oblivion Reloaded, because OR quietly takes one of DarnUI's XML files with it when you uninstall it, causing Oblivion to crash halfway through loading.

Curious, do you have DarnUI installed?

Because that's when I usually get my crashes before I even get into my game

Hum, I tried this solution several times => Oblivion always regenerates the INI file, but the crash still happens and it autoconvinces itself it's an corrupted installation.

Yes, I installed Darnified UI but not Oblivion Reloaded (not worthy to me). And anyways all mods are disabled so I don't think it's DrnUI.

Did you replace the font section that DarnUI needs in the Oblivion.ini?

Yep. Still doesn't work.

Just because you have DarnUI disabled, doesn't mean it's not the problem.

As I said, it could be a problem with one of the many XML files for DarnUI, or a missing one etc.

Disabling DarnUI only disables the esp

In my past experience, it's always been the ini files and/or DarnUI

What Mod Manager did you use?

I'm using Vortex Mod Manager, and what I meant is I tried to relaunch the game even with no mods deployed, so with only DLCs and vanilla content. The game crashed anyways, whileas it didn't had DarnUI's files, so that's why I'm so confident about it.

Did you take a look at MessageLogger?

MessageLogger? What is it?

I installed MessageLogger, but it doesn't seem to work since I didn't get any output.

However, Oblivion did succeed to launch this time, I don't know why, maybe the removal of Oblivion.ini finally worked... after four attempts..

But now I still cannot play the game because, when loading my save games, it says "None of the master files for this save game were loaded. Return to game." whileas when I look in Oblivion's plugins.txt file, it's pretty much what I activated from Vortex (pretty normal because it's apparently the manager that generated this file). It seems like the game engine knows I want to load these files but didn't activate it by itself.

And because the launcher is damn fricked up, I can't just go in the Plugins window to check that.
