UAC confirmation problems

Can you check the log whether the deployment actually happened?

When Vortex has to run an "elevated process" (one that triggers the UAC dialog) it doesn't really get a whole lot of information on what's going on. It knows that the process it starts requires elevation which will usually trigger the UAC dialog (unless the user changed those settings) and then it should be informed when that process has actually started and is ready to "communicate" at which point it will remove the "please confirm ..." message.

So what you're seeing would indicate that despite confirming the UAC dialog the secondary process isn't actually started for whatever reason and Vortex is waiting for either an error or success message which never arrives.

I'm having the same issue as well. Vortex prompts for the UAC control, I accept, then it stalls at "starting deployment" with no tangible progress. I attached my log file from the last attempt, and have done some basic troubleshooting steps (full reinstall inc. app/programdata, restarts, rollback to older versions) with no luck. Restarting Vortex shows that the game (Darkest Dungeon) is added to the managed games section, but needs to be activated with the default profile. I've also tried this with Starsector and Starbound with the same result.

I'm not running it as admin, and is there a way to set those options globally in Vortex? From my understanding, I have to tell Vortex to manage a game before I can set a staging folder or deployment method, but I can't because it hangs during that initial setup.

The place where you want to change settings globally for any program, is under the settings menu

I think I've got a workaround for it. I tried what you said to do, but it still hung up on adding Darkest Dungeon to Vortex. I checked the log again, and I noticed this line:

"Fri, 11 Oct 2019 08:55:30 GMT - info: deploying destinationPath=D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon, gameId=darkestdungeon, installationPath=C:\Users\Jon Smith\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\darkestdungeon\mods, typeId=dinput"

So out of curiosity, I moved Darkest Dungeon to C:\ and reran Vortex, activated the game, setup the mod staging folders for D:\, and the moved it back. Restarting Vortex one last time causes it to loose track of the game (since it's install moved from drive to drive), but I was able to then reactivate it with the correct staging path and deployment method. Thanks for the help
