  1. He's right, you know. Ever notice all those books and other objects that go flying off shelves when you run through a shop or home...? It's those sneaky dragons.
  2. When did you start having this problem? If it was after a few mods were installed, logic would suggest unchecking those mods and seeing if that fixes the problem. I'm wondering if Library Portable could be interfering. It absolutely shouldn't, but it's also worth unchecking temporarily to see if that makes a difference. Make sure you don't save over your last save once you've uncheckd these mods, either.
  3. 25 is the default number. There are a few mods that tweak the NPC AI to a higher number; MMM, for example, resets it to 40. If you use the great utility Wrye Bash, you can set a value up to 100 through the Bashed Patch.
  4. Your word choice gave the impression of stating something as a fact, rather than an opinion--that it ruins the game. I'm sure inflection and facial expression would have helped. In any case, glad to see that crusading against anime wasn't your intent. I wouldn't play a Skyrim like that, either, but if the OP wants to work on one, more power to him/her. :)
  5. Why do you feel that somebody else wanting Skyrim to resemble Japanese anime threatens your gaming experience? It shouldn't. Your view is as valid as theirs, and theirs, as valid as yours.
  6. Israphiel, I think that by now it's pretty clear that Bethsoft in at least some respects is counting upon modders to do the work that the company given the money for the game should have done.
  7. Then I sincerely wish you the best of luck. :)
  8. What you're describing, Quietwinds67, is (if I recall correctly) going to employ low polycount replacements that are relatively easy to generate in great quantity, because some of the processes can be automated. It's easier than what you propose because it doesn't replace meshes, and doesn't require hand-redrawn textures. Your idea does, on both counts. I apologize in advance if I've gotten the content of the overhaul in question wrong, but you haven't supplied a filename, and I went for the one I know. I also know of several graphics overhauls in Morrowind and Oblivion that have done this. They still took months to do, but they didn't require the replacement of literally every object in the game, as yours does.
  9. It is just a matter of personal choice. I wouldn't want it, but that's no reason somebody else should follow my impressions. All the more power to them in getting what they want made. I just don't see it as realistic to desire a complete remake of Skyrim in anime terms, given the sheer amount of effort required to redo over 100,000 items in 3D space. I would invite the person who desire this to wait a few weeks for the construction set, then set themselves the task of creating, say, 10 well made anime items from their current counterparts in the game. Just to see how intensive the process is.
  10. I've never launched the game from Wrye Mash, but typically use the Morrowind Script Extender. To your problem. When you state that you can't take any notes, what do you specifically mean? I don't see a journal mod in your list, such as Journal Enhanced, or the ability to create books, such as Writing Enhanced. For the rest, do you mean that if you open any book, its contents are blank?
  11. As a rule, I don't download attached files unless, like those being offered as mods, they've first been scanned at the source. So let me ask: are you running the Morrowind Code Patch and the Morrowind Patch Project? You might also want to check out Wrye Mash. It's a utility that provides tons of useful Morrowind tools. You can copy your full mod list in loading order from it, and use {spoiler} and {/spoiler}, though with brackets, to display it.
  12. I heartily endorse David's modding efforts, for quests, dungeon bashers, and just plain silly stuff. IMO, he deserves an award for Oblivion modding work.
  13. I have to think that's because people take months to turn out new textures for a few suits of armor and weapons, and you're hoping they'll do it to every object--hundreds of thousands--in the entire game. Everybody should have their dreams, but as dreams go, this one isn't going to happen. You may learn texturing yourself, and perhaps produce a nice shop, or a guild filled with anime-style clothing; there are a few of those in Oblivion. Check out Colourwheels' stuff via the advanced search menu. Anime also is ued to refer to a specific style of Japanese animated artwork, at least as it's understood by the OP: "Few clothes weapons even bodies, but why stop there wouldn't be a total strech to do a weapon, npc, armour, animal, even buildings..." In other words, the Japanese anime appearance. And there's precedence on a very small scale in Oblivion for this, but certainly nothing remotely attempted on the scale of a game-remake.
  14. Wrye Mash is a good tool for keeping track of mods in the game, as well as spotting certain kinds of errors, and easily reordering mods. It's not a mod itself, but a great utility. Just give its description a look, and see if you want to consider it--not the easiest of things to master, but has tons of functionality. :)
  15. My copy was also left by the wayside, for exactly the same reasons. There are a few early games that for some odd reason I kept boxes on, such as Nord and Bert Couldn't Make Head or Tail of It, but what I mostly kept were just manuals, discs, and paraphenalia.
  16. Try Graphic Herbalism. It automates ingredient harvesting, so there's no yes/no response to a popup, and it leaves the plant looking different afterwards so you don't return too soon to harvest it again. :)
  17. What I really miss in the ES games is any kind of dual pathing based on gender. -And no, I don't mean somebody patting a female PC on the rear and calling her "honey," or giving a male character a "manly hug"--which are two stereotypical reactions that do sadly pop up in real life cultures--but rather differences that could be derived from game-based cultures where they exist. Just suppose for one moment that Nords left magic (except for bards) to women, or that Dummers had a tradition of male shamans. Both of these are based on realworld facts from a few cultures, but how would such a game play out if you encountered different quest systems as a result in areas occupied by these races? But then, we could also ask how Skyrim would have played if the developers considered differences between Nord players and non-Nord players, between warriors and mages or thief types, etc. Checks for profession, race, and sex aren't something Bethsoft has ever gone in for, much. Sadly. Thing is, at least the gender differences might have provided for at least two very different gameplay experiences. More, if it were done correctly.
  18. It is odd to see some people consider "classic games" to include those created as recently as 5 years ago. Different definition of classic, I suppose. ;) I enjoyed Suspended, and A Mind Forever Voyaging when they first came out. Zork never really did much for me, but each to their own.
  19. Google is your friend. That said, if you read the comments section, you'll see it's very buggy. I wouldn't try this out myself, though of course it's up to you. You've got a good mod to auto-harvest plant ingredients? Glad to help out. It's a pleasure to see somebody enjoy such a fine game, and all the efforts that modders have placed into it. :)
  20. You must be a mind reader, I just came back on to find a companion because I've gotten bored making the animals do weird things. I'm definitely going to try Constance out, right now! I'm not having much luck finding anything simple for riding horses/creatures, do you have any suggestions for that, or is that something I should wait on until I've become more familiar with applying mods? The only horse-riding mod that I'm aware of is Pegasus Horse Ranch. I've never used it, but a friend who has really enjoys it. :) By the way, have you added in the Morrowind Code Patch and the Morrowind Patch Project? Both deal with hundrds of bugs Bethsoft never got rid of, as well as adding a few options useful to players. They're musts, as far as I 'm concerned. As for other mods: if you've played for a few hours and decided you really wanted something in the game that isn't there, I can't think of any harm in looking for mods. If you want enhanced dialog and small quests, I strongly suggest the Less Generic NPC Project, which really enhances a number of areas in the game. There are also tons of texture mods that make the game more visually appealing. :)
  21. Not a problem. And check out Emma's other mods, especially Constance. She's a wonderful companion, with plenty of character!
  22. Oblivion's cities always did feel ghostly to me, too, because the engine had trouble cranking up speed with enough NPCs present. I've used mods to increase NPCs, and it really does make a great difference in terms of creating that "city feel," but it also dropped me to about 20 FPS. I've selectively cut back, and am only using population increasing mods on a few cities. But Skyrim's villages just feel like hamlets to me, tiny places that shouldn't be able to support the kind of lords and halls they have. I think Oblivion feels smaller to some of us than Morrowind (including myself) because Oblivion uses a monotonous land covering for much of its landscape, and much more subtly different house styles in one basic architectural style. Morrowind had a number of major geographical regions, and a large range of distinctive architectural styles. Morrowind's geographical and architectural diversity, as well as the diverse views of its inhabitants, make it feel larger.
  23. Very time consuming. It's been done repeatedly in Morrowind, but usually takes upwards of a year. It doesn't help that there are simply fewer things in Skyrim, at this points--fewer guild halls, fewer shop types, less goods, less weapons, less armor, etc. When all that gets improved and increased by modders, presumably folks will start building onto the villages.
