  1. That's a very, very easy one to answer. You see, MW3 will be a hit with the console players. That's where Activision decided to put all their chips into after MW1 and burned bridges with COD games on the PC. Remember the whole debacle about the PC version for MW2? I don't think Activision cares anymore about the crowd that actually followed COD since the beginning. The BF3 franchise has traditionally made its home on the PC. BF1942, BF2, BF2142. Sure, DICE has had console diversions with Bad Company, but BF games have generally made their home on the PC. Now, in terms of pure numbers, because consoles are consoles, I'd expect MW3 to have more players. Which is fine by me. As long as DICE delivers and always sticks with the vision that is "Battlefield." Options in gaming, big maps, big numbers of players, infantry and vehicles (a major seperating factor from other FPS games, esp. COD titles), and just as importantly, Team-Based Gameplay. I've said it before in other forum: In BF, it's not about your Killstreak or K/D ratio. It's about your team, actions helping to success with your squad & team, and / or how competent your leadership as a Commander or Squad Leader is.
  2. I haven't played Oblivion in years so I loaded it back up with a bunch of mods. Anyways, after a long process of getting the game ready, I was able to play for about 4 hours straight with no problems whatsoever. I then went into the IC "Elegant" something store, saw I couldn't afford anything, then went to leave the shop. While the game was still loading to bring me outside again, the game game freezes and CTD. Before this, I've been ducking in and out of the outdoors, Imperial City, and 2 dungeons in different times of the day with no problems. I loaded the game up and to reload the autosave from entering the store. Freeze & CTD on loading screen. I loaded the Quicksave from roughly 1 hour before. Freeze & CTD on loading screen. I loaded the only normal save game I had from 3 hours before. Freeze & CTD on loading screen. I try the OP's suggestion but the exact same problems persist with all 3 save games. Now, I've played lots of FO3 & FONV which uses the same engine basically as Oblivion (meaning they're all about as stable as a drunk gymnast on a balance beam). I've had a corrupted save or two in FO3 & FONV, but never all the saves. Is there anything that can be done or is my game hosed for good? Edit to add: My game is the Steam version, BTW. I made it "Do not automatically update this game" Edit to add again: Okay, I tried to start a New game but clicking past the movie that leads to the prison causes a CTD. I'm pretty screwed here.
  3. I have the same problem right now. I thought it was caused by me using GECK to edit one of my game tweaks. But disabling that mod didn't fix it. I went and disabled ALL the mods leaving only FalloutNV.esm and MercenaryPack.esm checked, still the same thing. I went and deleted my Fallout.ini, FalloutPrefs.ini, RendererInfo.txt, restarted the game, and it still did the same thing. I also loaded up earlier saves before the problem came up. Even with those saves, the same problem can now be found there. To add: The problem comes and goes (usually stays). Sometimes things are back into position and everything's normal for a short while. Then all the sudden my gun is pointing ridiculously high or low while shots still impact to the center of the screen. If it gets really bad, only the Pipboy's very top is showing.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. On a quick note, a newly made character did not have the same problem. I think my main toon's save is corrupted, but I'll do your fix after I get some sleep :)
  5. Yeah, I have the Readius mod on. Turning the Data File off/on at the launcher didn't work.
  6. The game CTDs when I access the inventory in any way. Pulling up the Pipboy item inventory. Pulling up any Merchant / Shopping menus. Opening a container. Trading with a Companion to swap gear. Etc. I figured it was one of the mods I added recently so I disabled everything but FalloutNV.esm and MercenaryPack.esm, but the problem remains. Any help would be appreciated. Edit to add: Toyed around with it some more. When opening inventory via Pipboy it doesn't immediately CTD. When I move the cursor over something in the inventory it will. I also did "Verify integrity of game cache" via Steam. Once completed, loaded up the game and it still has the same problem. Even loading a save game from days ago before any problems came up still had the same problem.
