spoiler Emotional / "RP feeling" quests!
Lawlder replied to Oddmaster's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
When things really get bigger than life. The final quest is probably the best example of this, especially if you're romancing Alistair and brought him to Fort Drakon. -
My character, City Elf, took the job of a Grey Warden knowing that it's a death penalty. When the end came, she (and thus I) was absolutely certain that her life is forfeit. When Morrigan shot out the offer, she refused. Why? First, she had no problem with dying. She was supposed to die so many times already, starting from the Vaughan incident. And the idea of having Morrigan - out of all people - carry an Old God inside her, with her being now completely familiar with Flemeth's soul transfer strategies... No, it just seemed too much that this selfish, Social Darwinist *censored* could one day have a God's power. So she rejected it. Her plans were ruined by Alistair though. He insisted that he made the final blow. Alistair didn't take "no" for an answer and so he made the ultimate sacrifice. Had there been possibility in the game, my character would've committed suicide at that very moment. First ready to die, and now suddenly her love who most likely has way more motives to live kills himself in the quickest decision in history. And, well, I also just like real sad endings.

I like playing Elves the most and I always start out racist, although I feel that the emotions are more just an aftershock of bad experiences and prejudice rather than pure racial hate. My characters are eventually softened by the goofy Alistair, ultra nice Leliana and most of all people who take no notion of the character's race. They still flip totally if someone comments their race, but they have realized that they must put their beliefs aside when they are dealing with the Bligh, and doing general Grey Wardening. There is that other of my Elven females resisted any kind of romance with non-elves, which obviously meant dating Zevran. The other one started out like this as well, but her heart was eventually conquered by Alistair. Half by accident, though. (In reality, I just accidentally boosted up Alistair's approval so much and when he gave me the rose, I said "meh, let's take this ride then".)

Loghain would make a better Grey Warden, and I like his character more, but I look at things from my characters eyes and, well, I wouldn't be too eager to spare someone who has made so much effort to kill me just to prove his point. I kill Loghain even if I don't like doing it, so I guess I support "eye for an eye" ideology.

spoiler Which king is better for orzammar.
Lawlder replied to RebelOConner's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Bhelen, obviously, but considering that my characters can't see the future, they go for Harrowmont. He is a lame king to be, but it's only a good thing considering my characters are Elves. -
So, the Enclave's fate in the Fallout series?
Lawlder replied to Alixen's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
The Enclave was not eliminated in Fallout 2 nor Fallout 3. In both games they just lost their leadership and their leaders. Those guys have endured pain and fire for 200 years (501 if you start countin' from 1776). You don't just wipe them out. But sadly True Humans have lost the game, even though they remain... Too bad. -
Not much a fan of change when the previous one works, but okay.

Creature (robot) follower/companion templates?
Lawlder replied to AirBreather's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
You want a template? Use the vanilla followers. Look Butch's files for example. Look at its script, packages and dialogues. Copy them and make yours. Tah da. That's how I made my companions. -
Never heard of one. There is, however, a flag in AI packages named "Allow Falls". Enabling this should do the trick, but be prepared for your companions not surviving a trip to Megaton.

Like it goes with 95% of requests: DYI.

There are some. There is a mod named Enclave General, although I haven't played it myself. Personally I'm working on an extensive mod which will allow you to join the Enclave BUT also expand its realm by doing things like conquering the Citadel. I also have a mod called The Eagle Has Landed which replaces the whole main quest with an Enclave version. It is still in its childhood, though, and is not finished.

Overall? Well over 30 times. Games that I've played beyond level 2? Around 20. Characters that have reached level 8? Drops to 10. Characters with over 20 hours? 6.

FOOK2 vs FWE, which for a first-time mod player?
Lawlder replied to omniseed's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
FOOK2 is nice and all but the stuff it adds are ANYTHING but stuff that fits Fallout lore... FWE on the other hand adds lore friendly equipment and is completely customizable. I don't really suggest using FOOK2 if you like Fallout lore as it is, with mostly imaginary weaponry and real weaponry/armor being from early-mid cold war. But if you are not bothered by lore conflicts, then there is no reason not to use FOOK2. -
Why didn't the Enclave and Brotherhood work together?
Lawlder replied to JackTrenton's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
That is not true as of Fallout 3. According to Autumn Eden decided to leave the FEV plan "months ago", but Eden returned to his plan after meeting with the Lone Wanderer. If Lone Wanderer had not existed, what would have happened to Eden's plan? He is certainly not capable of pushing the right buttons in the Purifier console. It's Autumn who does that and Autumn didn't want to use FEV. That makes the "Autumnist" Enclave an organization aiming to actually restore pre-war America and rule over the locals instead of killing them. -
Ever since I first played Fallout 2 I've supported the Enclave. While I seriously dislike Black Isle's decision to give the Enclave the dumbest plan in human history, where they would have killed everything including themselves in the long run, the thing changed in Fallout 3. In Fallout 3 the Enclave still wants to use FEV, but they are not going to since Autumn is the one who gets to decide, and he didn't want to use FEV. That said the Enclave remains just the government authority which in Autumn's words would just rule over the Wasteland just like the pre-war government. The Enclave would purge the super mutants with no difficulties since they know where they come from. The Enclave under the leadership of Autumn would deliver water to the locals just like the Brotherhood. Sure, the locals would lose much of their freedom and privacy, but is it really worse than being assaulted by Raiders, Slavers and Mutants daily? I like the Enclave even more so when Eden offered me a position in the Enclave.. This wasn't fulfilled since Beth couldn't afford hiring McDowell a second time. But then there's mods for that.

How did the Enclave get into Vault 87?
Lawlder replied to JackTrenton's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
The Enclave commissioned the Vaults in the first place. They have complete blueprints for the vaults and they know all ways of entrance. Perhaps Lamplight wasn't the only way to get in V87. -
How do you all put up with this game?
Lawlder replied to VergilPrime's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
I play on a PC that was supposed to fail completely in doing so, but I've had no real problems with the game besides occasional lag and freezing due to my low specs. -
I don't like the new system because it's so black and white. It's AWESOME vs. This sucks. I liked the numeral rating system because rating of 9 meant that this is good but has some bugs, while 7 meant don't use this mod unless you really want to. People were giving 10s easily but this doesn't solve it. Just mah opinion.
