  1. Chat GPT Powered Ships Computer and/or Vasco? I'd settle for a voiced player character! If that happens (& it probably will), I'll actually buy the game.
  2. AI will fix this issue eventually (& probably fairly soon), & when it does, I'll buy Starfield. Soon, we will just speak freeform via microphone to NPCs in all RPG games & they will use a ChatGPT style AI to respond. Then the issue (at least for people like me) is not doing this in real time but rather with a delay so the AI can convert it to the custom voice I want the player character to use in-game
  3. I'm sure that will get made by someone who hangs out at LoversLab
  4. That would be the mod that would convince me to buy Starfield as I *hate* voiceless protagonists.
  5. I did try Skyrim & F03 but they weren't really my thing. I only realised RPGs might be 'my thing' after Fallout 4 & it struck me that the voiced toon was a major contributor. My issue is that I get to play me every day, so the toon being 'me' was absolutely not what I wanted. Actors are experts are being someone else, they don't (usually) play themselves & often sound quite different than they do in real life. When I play an RPG, I am trying to get immersed in being someone else. A voiced player character is a huge bonus in that regard, very immersive, as a toon that sounds like someone else really help me get out of my head and into the toon's head. And yes, if there is a trainable AI to voice the character a year from now, I will certainly give that a go!
  6. Do we have any idea what the character's voice(s) sound like yet? EDIT: wow, just discovered the player is unvoiced. Cancelled my pre-order.
  7. Never fear, within a few weeks after launch, there will be a plethora of modder-made toons for you to download ;)
  8. I'm thinking Amos Burton from the Expanse...
  9. I wonder if the planetary surface gets generated as you enter an area without limit, or does it produce a certain number of tiles around where you land the ship & then in put boundary? Also, am I right assuming you can land anywhere on a world? Or just where you get a scan result of something produced procedurally, or (obviously) some other pre-placed location?
  10. There are two entirely complimentary settings in which to have "Fallout in Starfield". Lore is there was a war between the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. This could have resulted in nuked worlds & ruined cities. Also, Terra is a wasteland (we do not yet know why), so...
  11. Hopefully the vanilla bodies will not need it. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm dreaming
  12. I've realised I'm tracking 43 pages worth of Fallout mods  Having finally stopped playing the game, is there any way to mass/batch untrack mods? Doing this one at a time is going to take a long time.
  13. Here is 'Rename Anything' for all your renaming needs... and the 'disable' or 'markfordelete' console commands for all your corpse removal needs (use with caution & save game before using in case you selected the wrong thing)
  14. It's designed for the warehouse building type indeed, they only work for warehouse set. Sadly no one has made elevators for the concrete set
  15. One of my pet peeves with Fallout 4 is that I can create a marvellous walled settlement featuring turrets with overlapping fields of fire & cunning traps... and the moments some raiders or super mutants appear, the entire settlement rushes out beyond the defences to attack them with their rusty pop guns! Banzai! Makes all those preparations all a bit pointless really. So is there a mod that gets the settlers out of Kamikaze Rambo mode & makes them sit tight within the settlement?
  16. Yes one of the things that drives me crazy about Fallout 4 is that you carefully build a walled settlement with overlapping turret fields of fire & various traps... and as soon as it gets attacked, the settlers rush out to attack the raiders or super mutants with their pop guns, making all that work a complete waste of time. Doh!
  17. +1 yes please. In real life you can tell if you are getting overloaded so it would be nice to see it on the HUD. And world time would be nice too :-)
  18. There is already this mod, which is close & more than a little kinky :-) ... http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7756/? Woof woof!
  19. *face palm* It is bad enough the companions are unhelpfully aggressive, that poorly armed settlers launch an assault on some super mutants is just preposterous.
  20. Settlers... they arrive armed with pathetic pipe pistol pop guns, which fits with the lore just fine, I might add. And so you build a nice fortified walled settlement with them, defended with turrets and traps. And then a passing deathclaw aggros the settlement and what do they all do? They rush out like so many ragged arsed Rambos and charge at the deathclaw with their pop guns blazing, making your entire lovingly designed defensive settlement utterly pointless. I really do not think Bethesda thought this through very carefully. Use a mod that makes the settlers mortal and they pretty much all just die, suicide by stupidity. Immersion breaking much? I like the Better Settlers mod very much but can someone do something about the preposterous hyper aggressive vanilla script that makes the unkillable settlers run out and swarm attack anything that aggros the settlement? They should just stay put and let the turrets do their damn job.
  21. Ladies and Gents of the Modding community... is there some command that can be used order a Provisoner or indeed any settler into a set of Power Armour? I have tried tricking them by leaving a fully set standing around (with a battery in it) and triggering an attack but... nope, they ignore it. Openactorcontainer does not seem to work with a frame as the frame is not an inventory item, so I have no idea how to force this.
