  1. The "pic please" crowd will always be around. Authors have the ability to keep their mod 100% hidden until everything is ready...or not. It is up to them. The author also has the ability to downrep any comment to the point of being hidden if they don't care for it. The "pic please" just minutes after creating the page is one such justification for that ability. I know about and avoid such comments by simply adding to the description "Please be patient while I upload related files and mirrors." When done, I then edit the description one more time with the real thing. It avoids the "no pic, no click" every time. Of course, so does keeping it hidden as well. LHammonds
  2. You can do more than just donate $$. Donating your time is also very valuable as you have noticed. Giving back to the community <-- Read this.
  3. From the forums, you can click on your name in the top-left corner which will show a pop-up list of options. "Manage Friends" is one of them. This shows a list of members that are flagged as your friend. Click on their name to see their profile and you will see a link on the left side under their avatar that says "Remove me as a friend" Conversely, if you are viewing a member profile that is not your friend, you will see a "Add me as a friend" instead. 4. Yes, unfortunately, you are not able to remove images you've uploaded to other modder's pages. Maybe sometime in the future they will show up in our "Manage ImageShare" links so the people that upload them have full control to remove them. For now, you'll need to report the mod and specify which image you want removed. Hopefully you added a name with the image when uploaded but if not, you'll need to describe the image if you uploaded more than just the one. LHammonds
  5. We used to have modder tracking. File tracking is a strain on resources which is why it is for premium accounts only. Not sure why modder tracking was removed...might have been under utilized or too intensive for the servers to handle. I'd prefer something along an XML thread for each modder which only gets updated if new entries are created...then subscribe to the XML news feed. LHammonds
  6. Umm....yeah. Gonna need to upgrade. Sorry. However, you are in luck since Firefox allows you to customize the UI quite extensively. Try out some Retro themes. Personally, I'm a fan of the Lava Fox theme. LHammonds
  7. I see the problem as well. There is apparently some code changes going on. Give it some time.
  8. Membership reinstated but with 2 strikes. This is your one chance...use it wisely.

  13. Ah, I get what you are saying now. I just verified that the same problem will happen for me as well if I go into member preferences and change "File download method" from "Default on-page pop-up box" to "separate page" and then try to download any file on the NMCs_Texture_Pack_For_New_Vegas. Thanks for making me understand the root of the problem. This definitely seems to be a coding issue. The problem page seems to be downloads/downloadpart.php LHammonds
  14. The error by itself can be misleading. It can mean you are trying to export an object that has more verticies than can fit in a single NiTriStrip or it can mean you are exporting a piece of armor/clothing that has an unweighted vertex (not weight painted / skinned) Also, what game are you exporting this for, what type of object are you exporting and what does the export screen look like (basically, what buttons did you click). Export screen examples: Oblivion export for a bow model: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Blender/SteelBow-2-Export.png LHammonds
  15. I'm glad you have it sorted now. One thing to check to make sure it is not a setting you have changed in your browser, try using portable browsers without changing any of their initial settings: Firefox portable edition Google chrome portable edition Opera portable edition The portable editions have no effect on the fully-installed versions and vise versa. 16. Pretty simple actually. Click the Advanced Search button which is the gear icon to the right of the search box on the top-right corner of the page. Then, type your ID in the "Find Author" field and click the "Search Now" button and all the posts you ever typed in will be displayed in a handy-dandy list sorted by the recent activity. LHammonds
  17. I guess some people don't realize that the Construction Kit is really what you are buying. Skyrim is just an example of what you can do with it. Sure, you can play the example for like 200 to 300 hours in its unmodified form with a single character...and then do it all over again with a different kind of character, but it will be the years of fun making / playing mods for it that will be what it is remembered for. Bethesda created the ultimate gaming platform of "play it how you want" LHammonds
  18. I don't see the same problem. All text is hyperlinked for me. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Nexus/Nexus_NMC_DL_Links.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Nexus/Nexus_AncientDwemerRuins_DL_Links.jpg Then again, my admin account is flagged as premium and I think only premium servers are listed. I'll check again using a plain-jane test account. EDIT: All servers are simply lumped together...the top 2 are premium (notice the small number of current users) and the rest are non-premium servers (notice the large number of current users). EDIT: Just checked with my non-premium account and the normal servers were listed with the expected hyperlinks. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Nexus/NexusConanLon_NMC_DL_Links.jpg Looking at the one screenshot provided, I find it highly irregular that the web browser screen is entirely white as well as being in a separate tab...or more likely, simply taking up the entire page since I don't see evidence of telling it to open in a separate tab. The screenshots I provide are from Firefox 8.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. Even though I have Adblock Plus and NoScript add-ons, I have them configured to allow all Nexus sites...which works for me. LHammonds
  19. Happy holidays to you as well and I hope you have a wonderful new year. Best wishes....LHammonds
  20. I hope you had a great Christmas and will have a grand new year. Best wishes...LHammonds
  21. Thank you. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a great new year.
  22. Once you have a low-poly model with a UV, it shouldn't matter what program you use to make the high poly version and bake a normal map. You should even be able to create your low poly model in Blender 2.49b, then open in the latest Blender 2.5x to sculpt. Just don't do anything silly like trying to overwrite your original 2.49b model. EDIT: Just sayin' LHammonds
  23. FYI - The whole point of making a high-poly model to a low-poly's UV is to capture the detail in the high-poly model and apply it to the bump map of the low-poly model. If all you did was subdivide the model just so it has a higher poly count, you really are not doing anything different. Adding complexity just for the sake of adding complexity solves nothing. There has to be actual detail / differences for the process to work right. That means modifying the high-poly version...typically by going into sculpt mode and making small changes to the shape. Those changes can then be baked onto the low-poly version even though those changes are not actually on the low-poly model. Apologies if you didn't just crank up the poly count but that's what it sounds like you did. LHammonds
