  1. Having 20GB of textures in your mods folder doesn't mean that you're gonna use all of them in one frame.
  2. Well, it's the correct time to buy a new GPU for Skyrim. GTX 970 OC is basically better than both 290X and 780Ti, and also quite cheaper than both. http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=1443&page=13 You must be doing something different then... Because Skyrim on ultra settings(with fov 81) is already using 1.3GB VRAM by default. And when you make some ini tweaks like uGrids(and some other draw distance(grass etc..)) your VRAM usage easily jumps to 2GB. Without installing a single mod. You must think that 2GB might be enough for you, but not everyone wants to play with your exact settings.
  3. Well if you're getting CTDs because your GPU hit its safe max temperature then there is something wrong. It's either your current room temperature is too high and therefore you're getting higher temps than usual or your 660Ti needs some cleaning and possibly re-applying the thermal paste. If you just wanna get rid of it and get a new GPU; first you need atleast 3GB VRAM, second nothing below 280x/770 will cut it. You can get a water cooled 780(which is something I'm thinking to buy in the near future) and overclock it safely since it's not gonna pass 60c even if you overclock it. It's performance will be very close to 780Ti(possibly even more). My choice would be Asus ROG Poseidon version of GTX780 since I'm a little bit of an ASUS fanboy and I really don't wanna bother with custom water cooling.
  4. Honestly, I wouldn't actually recommend installing any kind of visual mods on that setup. I get that you're running the game on a really low resolution but I still don't think that you got enough room left in your VRAM to install additional visual mods. I would like to know your ingame settings and how much VRAM you're actually using though.
  5. Even though I don't think FX6300 is a good CPU(considering the fact that INTEL CPUs tend to perform much better in Skyrim), combined with a GTX 760 it should be more than enough to play this game smoothly since you got no visual mods whatsoever. Try to backup your mods and revert Skyrim back to its vanilla state, then try to play a little with default inis. Lets see how that goes, also do you have any problems with other games?
  6. Don't think he wants to buy a GPU. Otherwise there is no point in getting an APU in the first place.
  7. I don't think they should do something based on a mod but I hope that next TES game fully utilizes all 4 cores and maybe even up to 8, so we can install more script heavy modes. Also being able to use up to 8Gigs of ram and having "actual" high-resolution textures by default would be preferable. Once these are done, the modders will take care of the rest.
  8. Basically there isn't enough demand for it to be made.
  9. Why is there a lack of Guild mods? There are some good mod that enhances the vanilla Guilds, but I haven't seen a major mod yet. I totally got you, I would appreciate a good Guild mod too. It is very essential to my gameplay as well.
  10. Fraps is just fine, I pretty much use that all the time with Skyrim(and of course I got ENB installed). DXtory won't work tho. Tested it.
  11. Haha, you got lucky man! Don't know if you can but try to get your money instead of a replacement card, you can buy a newer GPU with more VRAM
  12. NMM supports a lot more games? Hmmmm. You guys also notice that Bethesda games are like %99 percent of Nexus, right? I check this website on a daily basis but I never used it for any other games than Bethesda games. Of course this is just me, and there are people that use NMM for other games, but do you guys seriously believe they are a lot? And worth giving up some useful features for your most visited games? If so, all I can say is good luck.
  13. Agreed, MO is far better than NMM. They don't need to help them improve MO further, but they definitely need to implement some features from MO.
  14. Gamebooster doesn't really do anything if you are in the control of your PC in the first place. It just shut downs 1-2 program for me, and that's all.
  15. They atleast manage to make me react to them. For better or worse, they create an illusion of immersion, which makes me wanna talk to them.
  16. Good thread, might be useful for me too. Sometimes I just want that really cold Skyrim and harsh weather, trying to survive in the wilderness and the other times I like just using pretty ENBs and walking around the woods, enjoying the view. I just like the versatility in this game.
  17. I never said they will perform the same, I said that there is 11 FPS difference. So I'm still expecting an actual argument from you instead of interpreting my words. Because if that is the case I will just start to ignore you. I'm just waiting for you to explain to us getting 780Ti instead of OCing 780 for mainly Skyrim(or even other games) is worth the extra 200USD cash or not for a gaming build with 2K USD(including case and monitor) budget.
  18. Just like you said, that is only one benchmark. The other link you provided shows a different result. 11FPS difference between 590GTX and Titan at minimum. Not sure what you're trying to prove here.
  19. You're looking at average FPS. You should ALWAYS look at minimum first. That is more important. It doesn't matter if it's giving 145FPS or 150FPS or even 300FPS indoors. But while running around Whiterun with a heavily modded game then we will see the actual difference. And that is only shown by minimum FPS. Again, don't take the average FPS too seriously, it is misleading. Correct would be: 4FPS: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2013/11/07/nvidia-gtx-780-ti-3gb-review/8 0FPS: http://www.hardwareluxx.com/index.php/reviews/hardware/vgacards/29094-test-asus-geforce-gtx-780-ti-directcu-ii.html?start=9 2FPS: http://www.hardwareluxx.com/index.php/reviews/hardware/vgacards/28690-evga-geforce-gtx-780-ti-superclocked-with-acx-cooler.html?start=9 So yeah, still not worth spending extra 150-200USD.
  20. Better to get 4670K. No reason to buy a CPU that you can't even OC. 4670K @ 4.4 or 4.6 will perform much much better in almost every game compared to 4690. 5-10 FPS difference. Including Skyrim aswell. If you're gonna mainly play Skyrim and some other games from time to time, just please don't waste your money on 780Ti. Here's the benchmark for it. You can see that spending extra 150-200USD on 780Ti will only get you 2 more FPS compared to regular 780. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-780-ti-review-benchmarks,3663-9.html Old but still a useful link to take a look at: http://www.techspot.com/review/467-skyrim-performance/page7.html
  21. This case is pretty good. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-750d
  22. That's just my personal preference, I prefer ASUS over Sapphire(or any other brand in that matter) everyday. It's not even open to debate for me.
  23. If it is only for gaming and nothing else, you don't need an i7. I believe this one is better: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/r6p7pg Edit: What was verified, again?
  24. You know the funny part is, you are actually using a GTX 700 series card and you don't even notice that :D GTX 770 is a factory overclocked GTX 680, they perform around the same. Maybe a 5% difference. Nothing more.
