  1. As a modding community we benefit from each other's works and respect the time and effort that goes into creating them, especially in the cases of large worldspace additions. Modders make these things because they want to and enjoy doing so. They can't be forced to do it. There's a world of difference between a request and a demand, and demands will get you absolutely nowhere... except maybe banned from the site. Have patience. If someone is working on the project you're requesting it'll be done in it's own time and most likely will be well worth the wait.
  2. I agree. Windows 7 is the first OS in the Microsoft series that I've seen where you can be Administrator and yet you still need to ask your computer permission to let you do anything. I turned off UAC completely and trust more than one third-party security program to handle the things UAC is supposed to be protecting me from.
  3. ^Is the first Spartan Class Sheep I've ever seen. I'm a she  On-topic: Sees trolls I stand corrected.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif
  4. I always turn that setting off. My character already blocks automatedly. I don't want my entire combat experience to become automated. That's just my preference.
  5. Leaving downloaders no ability to make constructive criticisms in the endorsements or comments of one of my uploaded files to me would feel like I'm this little kid who's just done some crazy piece of artwork and I'm showing it to the rest of the class with the teacher standing behind me making sure nobody says anything to hurt my feelings. I don't want the site to get into a state where I can upload any old set of ugly deformed companion characters with no worries because I know the site doesn't allow anyone to say anything other than good things about my submissions. I understand there's a difference between constructive criticism and insults and that commenters sometimes seem to not know the difference, but this is another topic that has been debated here more than once. The bottom line for me is that I want downloaders to be able to tell me what they think of my work one way or the other. Whether or not I allow their input to influence my future works is entirely up to me.
  6. The above user most likely hates that Caprica was cancelled just as much as I do.
  7. Is this your first time playing FO3? If you like the Goddess Store you will most likely also like Ling's Finer Things. If you like companions similar to CM Partners, please also check the FO3 link in my sig.
  8. The quest apparently is triggered by the player equipping a torch. I felt silly after I figured it out since the game gives you a message telling you to do just that. I could've TCL-ed my way to the exit, but all the quests would likely have been borked.
  9. @ lonewolf_kai & mccrab: Thanks for the info; I'll investigate further. Sad to hear the project might be over with though.
  10. Is that the same as Elsweyr the Deserts of Anequina?
  11. The above user has been through the desert on a horse with no name.
  12. There's this massive mod, Elsweyr the Deserts of Anequina, but it appears to be under construction again. I recommend marking it in your tracking center and keep an eye out for it to become available again because it is very well done.
  13. LOL... I finally figured it out and made it to the outside world. It looks really cool and very well done so far.
  14. At the beginning it makes me fall down a hole and I can't figure out how to get out.
  15. This may be true in the case of DA2, but I don't think it's true for gaming as a whole. Console games are directed mostly toward a very specific target audience: individuals too young to have jobs yet or to buy their own computers, so their gaming experience is limited to what they can talk their parents into buying for them. Personal computers are a prolific presence in our world and a part of our everyday lives, so I can't imagine PC gaming ever being totally eclipsed by consoles. The battle will rage on, this is certain, but neither side will ever truly win. In the case of DA2 however, I just really don't know what the developers must be thinking.
  16. An Oblivion mod that I consider to be essential is CM Partners. The last update was about two years ago. Since then script extenders have been updated and companion systems for the Fallout games like RR Companion Vault and NCCS have shown that the scripting is capable of doing so much more. CM Partners is a great mod, but I'd love to see it updated to include features similar to those found in the newer companion systems. I just don't know enough about it to do it myself.
  17. I hereby give you your first kudo. I've been saying something very similar in the forums for a while now but it's not a widely popular opinion it seems. In a nutshell, I believe that what makes a good game has very little to do with the quality of its graphics. A well-written story and absorbing, entertaining gameplay for me lend more to an enjoyable gaming experience than leaves that cast shadows. Like you, I hope Bethesda doesn't sacrifice the things that make games great for me by focusing all their attention on making the snow look ultra-realistic... ...or by relying upon us modders to make their game good for them. But that's a whole other topic...
  18. Thanks for all the responses. I'm going to return it for a replacement. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  19. I don't know if this is a help or a hindrance, but... ...I'm using Google Chrome and I see the appropriate spaces between the title, the "by" and the name... ...on a 16:9 monitor set at 1360x768. With this browser I've also uploaded and downloaded from the site with no issues, as well as posting and PM-ing. It's Chrome v9.0.597.98 on Windows 7.
