  1. METAPHORPHOSES

    by Herculine

    I am a lost, drifting snowflake helpless in the frigid wind;

    She is the inescapable spring sun that permeates me,

    Melting my very heart.

    I am a blossoming, thirsty young flower,

    Untouched by beast nor man;

    She is the nurturing morning dew,

    Gently caressing my fragile silken petals to awaken me.

    I am ripening fruit, swollen with sweet nectar;

    She is a frantic hummingbird,

    Teasing me as she fleetingly suckles at my succulent blooms.

    We are mischievous butterflies,

    Playing in a meadow of sun-kissed flowers,

    Fluttering about one another, pursuing one another,

    Though we do not touch.

    We are curious kittens,

    Wrestling in the cool grass,

    Pawing at each other,

    Scratching, biting, licking,

    Mindful only of the pleasures of the moment.

    I am the fabled moth,

    Knowing the end which awaits me,

    Yet unable to turn myself away

    From her warm, seductive flame

    As she beckons me to sublime doom.

    I am a trembling rabbit,

    Cornered by a starving wolf;

    My flesh will be her feast;

    Yet I tremble not with fear but anticipation,

    Knowing I have no choice but to be devoured.

    I am a fly caught in the web

    Of the merciless widow;

    I have struggled to no avail

    And accept my fate as the fulfillment of her desire.

    She is a placid, glittering lake;

    I am a tumultuous waterfall,

    Unable to steer my course from

    Rushing into her embrace

    To be absorbed by her,

    To become as one with her.

    I am a falling raindrop, falling so fast;

    She is the engorged sky that for now has released me,

    We each knowing she will one day reclaim me.

    I am a shard of ice glittering in the silver moonlight,

    In the cold waiting to once more

    Feel the warmth of the sunrise,

    Mindful of how it will transform me

    Yet fearing it not,

    For I know we are both part of the natural order.

  2. Recently I was inspired to do something for which I have not felt the desire in perhaps far too long a time: I wrote a poem, and then another. I posted the said poems in one of Dezdimona's threads since it was she and her wonderful series of poems that had inspired me. Since then I've found my thoughts and emotions urging me to write more. Rather than continue to post my works in another thread, I've decided to start my own. I do this out of respect and reverence for Dezdimona, since she is my new friend and I feel kindred sister. My intention is not to compete with or try to upstage her or any other artisans here, but rather to share with you all some of my thoughts and feelings and to extend an invitation to anyone who might wish to do the same.

    Most likely I will post here mainly sensual, erotic (tasteful) poems and writings, but I invite all who read this to feel free to add works of their own here, be they erotic or simply beautiful. (No dirty limericks, please.)

    (Oh, and if the title of this topic seems odd, blame Fifoo. :biggrin: )

  3. I would argue that books, especially those that have been deemed "literature', are generally full of good grammar. If you are reading these books, how are you not learning grammar? That's what books are made of.

    I agree. I've won a spelling bee or two in my younger days and today consider myself to be quite literate. I enjoy reading and doing some of my own writing, and (perhaps arrogantly so) believe that I am quite skilled with the written word (when I take the time to be). I believe I have gained this skill and knowledge from reading many books in the course of my ongoing education. I can't quote rules of grammar and diction from the textbooks and still I'm not sure what a participle is or what would cause it to dangle, but I simply have an instinct for knowing what sounds correct. I'm not always right, mind you, but I think I do well enough that I sound like I know what I'm talking about. Good grammar, diction and vocabulary are all benefits of reading LITERATURE.

  4. Being a newbie here, I hope this is the appropriate place to ask this and that it's not a stupid noob question. Is it possible for a member to delete their own profile voluntarily, and if so would doing so delete all the mods they had uploaded and the posts they had made? I only ask this since I have seen in the forums a rare member or two talk of leaving the site for whatever reasons, and I wondered if what I've described is what they intended to do.
  5. I loved the work modder Misty Moon did for Morrowind, especially the Azurian race. I went to look her up again recently and found that her website is no longer there! Does anyone know what happened to this wonderful modder, if any of her work is still around, is she still active or where she can be found?

    The wiki I found leads to 404 pages and is three years old.

    Here's another good modders page that is still active which may have more knowledge. < Grumpy's Mods > < Canadian Ice and Howndog > and her pals may be another site to seek for the work mistymoon did. If you are interested.

    Extreme thanks! I love the work of Emma & Grumpy as well, and feel cheated by fate that I never had the chance to communicate with Grumpy.

  6. I loved the work modder Misty Moon did for Morrowind, especially the Azurian race. I went to look her up again recently and found that her website is no longer there! 7. Well, I still can't get Morroblivion to work 100% -- I'm still having the problems with armor, no greetings, and CTDs -- so since I am sometimes an impatient little girl I'm going to put this on the shelf for now. But again thanks to everyone for helping me find it so I could at least give it a try. I guess there's really no substitute for the original!
  8. I guess I'm not really a newbie anymore, am I? Again, I would like to thank everyone I have met on all the different threads for making me feel so much at home here. :thanks:
  9. This looks more promising and Bethesda don't object to it either.

    Wow, that does look interesting. Thanks!

    I tried it out, though, and all it seems to do is put me in some sort of test cell where I can't interact with anything. I'm going to mess around with it some more, though.

  10. I just quit playing Morrowind after getting it running, found the patch for Black Mill, and tweaked out all the mods that were conflicting. Turns out that some of the dialog mod material included separately were causing the problem. After I took out the Less Generic NPC dialog esp for Seyda Neen I discovered the Black Mill had added some of its' own dialog changes to the Seyda Neen bunch and it was conflicting. Even after I patched the Black Mill every one of their main characters has a twin.

    I had that problem too. I had to merge the v1.0 and v1.1 esps and the leveled lists somehow, but I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what I used to do that. I think there's a Morrowind autopatcher?

  11. Did you place them right after Oblivion.esm? They need to be right after that, or else nothing will appear, I moved them before and visited Vvardenfell and found only alot of water, but it didn't crash.... Although you didn't need to move the items to the data folder, it should have done that on its own...

    Well, I got to Seyda Neen (It's misspelled, though) but a lot of people had missing bodies and no greetings, and when I tried to take the strider to Bolmora it CTDed.

    I'm trying your advice now. Hang on...

    Nope. Mainly Imperials have missing bodies and it still crashed when I tried to go to Bolmora. But it DID create the landmass, and that's something. I need to get my beauty sleep now (boy, do I need THAT), but I may screw with it some more after class tomorrow. Thanks for the help, all. I'll add you to my friends list, give you kudos and ratings when I have time in the morning. :thanks:

  12. DOH!

    Well, that was quick and easy enough. What would the internet be without Google?

    A library?

    About Morrroblivion I think its kinda defunct at this point, I haven't seen to much happening atleast. For me its just kinda a huge landmass to steal npcs for Share and Recruit without having to worry if they conflict with a quest or mod :)

    Okay, I did the converting thing but Oblivion won't start with those esp files checked. I moved the textures, meshes etc. to the appropriate folders. Do I need to run the converter again?

  13. The Witcher is worth a look.

    I like The Witcher, too, though it's not really free-roaming and I have to play the entire game as a scar-faced albino guy.

    Two Worlds is an Oblivion wannabe you could take a look at. It was cheap enough that even I own it.
