  1. I still try to play Morrowind from time to time, but I have a problem with my game saves that always puts me off it. (I've posted about it in the tech thread and hope someone can help.) It's a beautiful game, revolutionary for the era in which it was created, and I still love it. To be honest, I never actually completed the entire game, but I will one day!
  2. It does it with any type of save.

    I'm running XP Pro.

    I'm the Administrator.

I've tried having the game installed on each of my 3 hard-drives and it does not seem to matter.

I've installed any Morrowind patches that I am aware of.

It does not seem to be caused by any single mod; just whenever I start getting a few big ones installed.

It's almost like a Morrowind save can only hold a certain amount of data. Is that true?

Anyway, I want to play Morrowind again, but this bug always stops me in my tracks so I come back to Oblivion.

  3. I'm still playing DOOM on and off. I use the GZDoom platform with the ZDoom Launcher and play mostly MegaWADs for DOOM II. There are so many out there (like 3000 or something) that I doubt I will ever play them all in my lifetime. Talk about keeping a game alive!
  4. When I start adding mods to Morrowind things always go well for a while, until I start adding the really large quest mods like The Underground, after which I can no longer save my progress. There are no error messages... I simply can't load a save anymore. Does anyone know what this problem is or how I can either fix or avoid it?
  5. ..I think it says a lot about a person in how they comment on things like this.

Really? Take care, debates may reflect skill more than character. I notice that you have yet to toss anything from the mantlepice, but nevertheless hope that we might become friends.

Okay, no disrespect intended, but maybe I've misunderstood what the "mantlepiece" is?

I'm a bit in the dark on that one myself.

I attempted to form a sense of camaraderie with Herculine. A mantlepiece, as made reference to here, is a shelf (wooden, marble, etc) above a fireplace. Often it is used to display photographs, figurines, and other objets d'art. I have no idea if Herculine is, as she questioned, a crybaby. However, playing with that opening, I invited her to stand with me at my mantlepiece and help empty it of the more hideous pieces. That while doing so might fail to dismiss the tag of being a crybaby, at least we'd be pals together. I was rebuffed. Ah well.

Jokes aren't funny if they have to be explained. Anyway, no offence taken and continued good health and happy gaming to all. : )

I understand and know what a mantle piece is.I was confused as to the why of its use is all.If I overstepped myself, please forgive me for that was not my intent.Sometimes I am hard to understand or for people to comprehend my meanings, but I am bound by what I was born with and what I have learned and strive to learn.

I would gladly help with the mantelpiece, and I welcome and accept the offer of camaraderie. No rebuff was intended. Perhaps the metaphor simply escaped me at the moment. Thank you for inviting me to your fireplace, Kitten.

  6. Once again Kungfubellydancer is right: this is like an addiction! But I guess there are a lot worse things one could be addicted to! Welcome to the Nexus!
  7. Welcome! I don't know anything about making new textures and meshes myself, but there are a lot of great people here who I am sure will try to help you. Look for people who have done mods with new creatures or new weapons and armor.
