  1. Currently running a Sapphire 5870 which I likee muchly, but the upgrade bug is biting again and am itching to get a second one and go crossfire. Anybody done this yet and if so, is it mucho better ?
  2. Agree with Floydian here, tfc type cam definately needed for screenshots. Also, I prefer a first person viewpoint for when exploring etc, watching your char's backhalf while you want to look about gets on my noodles. Have spent half the day looking for mods for this but have come with nada. Gonna fire off a couple of emails to people I know have modded camera views on other games, will post if anything comes up. Regards, M
  3. No problem  So does anyone know if the debug script is accurate ?
  4. If your char is a custom race ie: Cute Elf, you need a fix as the Boethia quest doesn't recognise custom races. Try this. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3500
  5. Hi all. I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my PC and got Oblivion and all my mods up and running. 7 went on a peice of cake as did Oblivion, had a slight fanny on with OBMM till I read Bbens thread and sorted the slight security & warnings issue. It seems super stable, while I was putting my mods on I was in and out of the game like a fiddlers elbow with no crashes etc, on my old setup with XP 32 bit it would have crashed on every 2nd or 3rd exit from the game so a big thumbs up there. The only thing I've noticed (according to the debug script) is a slight FPS drop overall of between 2 and 5 FPS depending on location, yet the game seems to be running much more smoothly and the colours and detail levels are much better than with XP 32 bit. I can still hit 60 FPS out in the great forest etc, settings are pretty much maxed out with HDR enabled & a screen res of 1920 x 1080. So, is the debug script accurate? or is it telling me porky's as I could swear the games running better. 6. Agreed  I find the structure of the site suits me fine, its easy to scan through and peruse for the mods I particularily want or when I'm doing the kid in the sweetshop thing, "ooh, I'll ave one o them n one o them n n n one o them too", it works for me. The community does make it a good place and I think its refreshingly unique to find this sort of enthusiasm across the board (so to speak). Up to now, (as a recent convert to PC gaming) I've only been downloading and getting used to using mods, but am planning on having a go at making some myself and giving something back, although there is a distinct possibility that if I try to make a war axe it may come out looking like a four pound lump hammer, but I'll have a go anyhoo  Regards, Marthos
  7. Thanks for all the info everyone. Think I'll just stick with my awd faithful XP and DX9, I'm hammering 60 FPS pretty much everywhere I go in Oblivion so think a small performance increase isn't worth the cost of buying 7 (don't like Vista) and hassle of installing a new OS etc. Cheers,,, Marthos.
  8. Thanks for the prompt reply and thanks for clearing that up. :thanks: -M
  9. Hi All I've just managed to shoehorn an ATI Radeon 4870 1 gig into my PC (had to shift a hard drive to get the bally thing in) and on reading the bumf it says it supports Direct x 10.1 I'm currently running XP 32 bit with Directx 9.0c as the Oblivion bumf states as required, if I install 10.1 will it be better and faster, the same or will it goose my game? Thanks in advance, -M
  10. Aha ! Give it time, I swapped from Xbox 360 to PC about a month ago, for the first week I wanted to neck the mouse and headbutt the keyboard. A month down the line it seems just as normal to pick up & use the mouse & keyboard as it did to use the 360 controller. I've sticky back velcro'd my keyboard to a piece of wood that has room at the end for the mouse so I can put them on my knee and get my feet up on the desk and slob it for hours in my chair (which is great till I fall asleep and go over backwards getting a facefull of keyboard when I hit the deck. Stick with it, you do get used to it.
  11. As a recent convert from the Xbox 360 to PC gaming and Oblivion modding, I just wanted to say thanks and well done for the best Oblivion modding resource on the web. Cheers, Marthos.
