  1. No prob. I was happy when I saw the mod myself. Makes no sens that you have to learn how to backstab with a dagger before you learn how to snipe with a bow. Not that many of the perks makes much sense in the first place...
  2. Skyrim isn't much more involving tbh. Every quest is railroading.
  3. Swords->faster and gets critical strikes perk
  4. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1943 Removes pre-req perks. You still need 30 Sneak to get backstab, though.
  5. They removed classes and physical attributes from the game to make more presentable for non RPG fans, in the process they removed the aspect of diversity, as every character I've tried to make turns out more or less the same, with different appearance. You get a little sneak, because nothing is really stopping you from it... ok you're a bulky Nord, but after sneaking through some bandit camps you're as sneaky as a Khajiit. Ah, yes.. some blacksmithing, ore everywhere ~30 minutes later, or should I say 80-10 Iron daggers later, and 10 levels higher, lets kill some!!!! One perk in smithing, and 50-60 in smithing and your steel weapons can cut through anything with ease. And the list goes on... Let's try some magic... WTF?!?! A kid with a Zippo lighter has caused more damage than this?!? BROKEN! ...and the result; Boring. OK, let's try to up the difficulty. Yeah, that's fun, because as melee you can't really prevent incoming blows, parry just softens it. And every goon with a two handed weapon does more than twice your health in one blow... how sensible. And archery hurts about the same as a tiny mosquito on everyone who isn't rabble.... makes sense. I am now awaiting immersion mods, realism mods and hopefully proper class mods that will make this game interesting. Slightly exaggerated to prove a point.
  6. I wonder when game developers realize that "harder enemies" and "increased difficulty" comes from smarter AI, not increased HP, Damage and insane spells/abilities. Example: On the toughest difficulty, those restless draugr's have some disarm ability... I had to kite around the room with my fists, as i looked for my sword for about 10 minutes, and I never found the dagger. This could have been great, if the Draugr actually wasn't retarded and kept walking scripted paths up the stairs, down the stairs etc. I could just jump up and down slopes, never really being in any danger. The AI does not seem able to take "short cuts", and no climbing is duly missed in this game.
  7. Mixing the lore, with gameplay, is a big failure. There is no connection. Then we'd be 1-shotting everything with the shouts. Fun, right? There is a middle way between useless and overpowered.
  8. I do crimes like murder and theft all the time, and even though no one actually witness my crimes, the guards know it's me after a while anyway.... so much for subtlety Bethesda, great work. Even guards in regions I've never been to before greet me by saying "Keep your fingers to yourself sneak thief!" or something similar. And I wonder why, because I've never been caught, and I've never boasted of my exploits....
  9. Fable 3 was a funny lightweight RPG though :)
  10. I already said they had contracts naming me as target for assassination or death by any means, I may have forgotten to mention that I found the contracts in their pockets, but I kinda assumed that was obvious.
  11. I can see clearly under water at daytime, but at nights the water becomes a green slush with no visibility.
  12. You're taking the simpleton explanation here. Yes it's his fault that he made those choices, but the game should not be designed in a way that making those choices take every bit of challange away. A system with stats like Strength, Agility and the usual, that also function as a cap for skills would fix this. Warriors could never become master enchanters then, without the use of console. It all boils down to the "simplification" of the system Skyrim has been through, one may argue that it's for the better, but it's not done properly as this case is a perfect example of. Also, a smith that can sharpen a weapon to be twice or thrice as good as original.. where is the sensibility in that?
  13. player.modav healrate -0.45 would actually stick when you next load up your character. When I used setav, it was back to "normal" regen when I died and had to reload.
  14. At one point I was in the middle of a quest when some mercenaries with the same kind of contract attacked me, and I was surrounded by the actual guards that supposedly had hired these guys to kill me. The guards helped me dispose of the mercs, though. That too makes no sense...
  15. I would also like to see clothes underneath armours. It makes no sense to me that I would not freeze to death in some of those most revealing armours in the game when I am climbing a snowy mountain in a blizzard. I carry around a near full set of fur armor for that reason. I have not yet found a fur helm, though...
  16. I stalked around and pickpocketed a bunch of Steel Arrrows from sleeping guards in various cities, and I was never detected. Suddenly I meet Assassins holding contracts to kill me by any means necessary all around Skyrim. What is the point of being sneaky, and remain undetected when it only postpone the conflict? OK, I don't get a visual price on my head, but having assassins after you is much worse than having to pay a fine to the guards to be honest. I stole a total of rougly 60 Arrows in three different cities (60 in each), and all the city guards have sent the Dark Brotherhood on me. How could they even know that it was I that stole those Arrows, because they where all sleeping when I took them... Unless someone has a good explanation for this, I am very disappointed in the mechanics for thievery in the game. Sorry if this already have been mentioned, but my search did end up fruitless.
  17. Your ever returning punch line that Oblivion has to be played with a powergamer perspective is just wrong. I never did such a thing in Oblivion, and I did not find the game particularly hard. I am not saying I liked the "AI level up with you" system, but it was hardly unbeatable even if you just walked around and chose levelup points more or less random. In Skyrim, from a RPG point of view, most characters looks well into their 30's if you haven't modded the chargen. I find it rather absurd that I can't choose to have learned some basic sneak or magic skills as a Nord after living for some 25-30 years. Classes aren't a hindrance, they are an asset. And also, in Oblivion it's nothing that hinders an Orc Bararian from becoming the best mage in the "world", despite it being a class based system. In the current Skyrim system, all Nords are just copies of each other when the game starts, and you have to actively overdo the "class molding" in order to become anything like you want. THAT is powergaming, or micromanagement in my eyes. Another thing that is clearly dumbed down, and it may also apply to other games by Bethesda for all I know, but if you have half a clue about what you're doing, you can gather enough materials to get 20-30 skillups in smithing right out of the tutorial. There are several mines and iron deposits out in the open right where you start. Leather straps can be made from all the wolves you have to steamroll as you gather the recourses. Easily enough to make a whole lot of Iron Daggers, and give a massive boost to the gear you're already using. Also, there are gold lying around everywhere, so money is never really an issue. It's all so simple, and you never get a sense of achievement for gaining upgraded gear, or gaining a level.
  18. They simply stole the elf looks from Dragon Age 2. It did not look good in DA2, and it does not look good here. But I don't really care, I don't play Skyrim to look pretty.
  19. The last enemy thing is horsecrap, at least with sneak attacks I know for certain. And if you're fighting one person and kills him just as another dude round the corner to join the fight, you start the next fight with an awkward positioning because the killcam keeps you frozen for too long.
  20. It "works" somewhat, but wield a weapon in right and left hand, then choose a spell, then try to get back the dagger in left hand. Impossible without using Inventory, because the spell "overwrites" the offhand weapon.
  21. Sigh, you still don't get it... You were simply wrong all along. OK, so you disagree with me and that is fine and valid, but all of your assumptions and psychoanalysis was completely off, and now you just did it again. I didn't calm down, because I was never angry, or on the verge of name calling. I was being an ass because that's how I treat besserwissers, but I was smiling all along. There are two types of people in the world, those who learn from their mistakes, and those who don't.
  22. The sole idea behind dual wielding is actually having one offensive and one defensive weapon. So in fact, Dual Wielding is supposed to be more defensive than only wielding one weapon and no shield. Create openings with one weapon, and take advantage of the openings with the other. This can't be done in Skyrim, because right hand attack animation negates you to do anything sensible with the other hand for too long, and the opponent regains balance before you can do a left handed attack. Using dual wield should perhaps autmatically make your toon try to parry incoming attacks with left hand, if it was not busy attacking, at half your block skill. And right hand attack animations should leave a room for actions with left hand quicklier than what it is now. Now we can only do both together, or one or the other. It is hard to implement it properly into a game, though. But denying a dual wielder parry is just silly. I honestly think Skyrims combat system is one big blast from the past, and that it generally sucks. But it still works in a weird way. Since there are no hook points for left handed weapon visibly, and the fact that there are no ways to set "pairs" of weapon that can easily be switched around just tells me that dual wield was rushed into the game, and they probably reused 95% of the oblivion code when they made the Skyrim system. Sneak attack with both weapons at the same time is also awkward, and it does not even have an animation as far as I know. I've learned how to use Dual Wield effectively in the current combat system though, I have invested most level points in Stamina, and three points into One Handed (20% dmg, 25% faster DW attacks and 25% less stamina usage) and I never rush towards the enemy. I let them come onto me, and step a few steps back when they attack me, then counter dual slash them once their attack movement is done. Very effective, and does huge damage. The downside is that at level 21, my light Armor ability is only 21 (up from 15). So when s*** hits the fan, I won't be able to cope with the damage I receive. Either way, DW needs a revamp, as does the whole combat system to be honest.
  23. Dunno if someone already mentioned this, but the killcam needs to be shortened. Once the target is dead and the "move" is done, it needs to be gone so the fighting can continue, because AI opponents moves around slowly while you are "locked" in killcam mode. Especially noticeable in the tutorial if you manage to sneak attack one of the two going through the potion barrel in the basement. The guy in the barrel turns around and is almost upon you before you regain control of your character. Use a console cheat to gain stealth perks or make a Khajiit to see for yourself what I mean.
  24. I am quite sure you can "rewrite" the beginning of the game to suit a smooth transition from Skyrim. But then again, some people would frown upon such a suggestion. From my perspective, though, if Morrowind was recreated, the main quest isn't really important. The landmass, cities and places filled with the sidequests from Morrowind would be more than enough for me. I'd like a likewise Oblivion remake for that matter, to make the gameworld huge and replayability almost everlasting. I personally did very few quests other than a few guild quests and parts of main story in both Morrowind and Oblivion. I was always too busy exploring, stealing and roleplaying to be honest. I am sure that whatever this idea turns out to be, if realized, will be great. Good luck!
