(Yet Another) Vampire Overhaul for Oblivion
Legotrash replied to saadus's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Could you post some info? The version of CS, CSE and your OS would be enough I think. Anyway, for now, try this: Open CS, then your mod and quickly go to edit the face (click on the "advanced tab"). If it won't crash, save your work as soon as you're done. -

If you're not the only one then you're definitely a rare kind of a player! That's quite refreshing and this comes from someone who already has several custom races installed. :x lol -

That's a pretty good choice! I totally forgot about that. Great music too. -

Once a day for 3 minutes seems good to me but I'm not the right person to tell. xP I never payed much attention to Oblivion's vampires because I'm really into "Vampires the masquerade" lore. I simply ignore anything that's different from that. xD -

Legotrash replied to saadus's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
I forgot to ask: When you said "toggleable" you meant the spell will drain magica or it'll be completely free to use? If it's free you might as well make it a permanent buff unless there's a visual change by it. -

It boils down to the vampire lore you're gonna follow. Are you gonna stick with Oblivion's or you have something else in mind? That being said, I can't remember vampires not having both kinds of buffs. -

I don't think we can have "too many" vampire overhauls so don't worry about that. :D There's more than just one "version" of the idea so it's expected to see new overhauls about it. No ideas here I'm afraid, I just wanted to wish you good luck with your project. :) -

Archive Invalidation causes game to crash
Legotrash replied to TheFoxQueen's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
TheFoxQueen, I don't know if this will work but since the culprit seems to be the archive invalidation I think the odds are good: First of all I would suggest a clean reinstallation but I do understand that right now might seem awfully tiring doing so. If you'll choose not to then just uninstall all your mods. Install OBMM and Wrye Bash. If you have archive invalidation active via ANY means, deactivate it. Install every mod with OBMM unless it has it's own installer (like hi resolution skins for hgec). If a mod has it's own installer, use that instead. When you're done go to Wrye to rebuild your bash patch like you normally would. When you're done with Wrye open OBMM again and let it load correctly (play with the options if you want to make sure) and then close it (I know, I know but just do it). Cross your fingers, go in-game and check things out. If that won't work then I can't help you I'm afraid. :/ Edit: About me saying to play with OBMM's options to make sure, don't change anything! I just meant that as a random way to check if the program is fully loaded. Sorry if I that caused any troubles. -
lol About the running into a wall thing. Should that person be disappointed or relieved though? :D

Hi Ms. Frillyskirt Zephy!! :D Welcome to Nexus! :)

You make a good point but personally I don't think it's the label's fault. I'm afraid it's the way some people use it. :/ You know what, I'll just say it: A few authors who want money use the label in a way to present others in a negative way which is simply wrong. Mod authors aren't the only contributors and that's a fact. Give it some time. Modding will remain a hobby, they'll get tired and move on. When that will happen things will get better. :)

CS Crashes When Loading Custom Head Model
Legotrash replied to sandone's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
You should have the nif, egm, egt and tri files in the same folder and they should have the same filename as the .nif file. I've never modded a head but I think it's because you're missing the egt file. Btw, I downloaded your nif, placed it in a custom race's folder that I have installed, copied its egm, egt and tri files, renamed them after your nif and CS didn't crash. I even went in-game without crashing. The race's head looked the same though and the screen was blue lol. -
Well, I'm not willing to help so I guess I should leave a comment? I have a few WIPs of my own, focusing on one of them that I'd really like to finish (we'll see about the rest) and I don't know if I'll even finish that since my life is a bit chaotic. I have to ask, why the negativity? I'm talking about you saying "I know that probably no one is going to help me on this one". By the way, instead of a conversion you could make Skyrim exist along with everything else like the makers of "Hammerfell - The Eastern Grasslands" did for instance. Just thought to give an extra option. Good luck with your project!

Yeah, that's what I was getting too. By the way, installing/reinstalling DarnUI fixes it but, of course, when you'll use the profiles it'll go into a single line again.

WB's profile function had a bug though that would mess oblivion's .ini structure (I could still play but it was worrying me). Have they fixed that yet? It's ok, I can deal with rebooting I guess. It's just that many times it makes me lose my motivation (when I'm working on a wip for example). Better than nothing I guess.

Thanks! I fixed MOM's settings but I don't see any differences to be honest. Maybe the author had something in mind but left it out. Oh well, at least now I know which one is the BAIN folder. xD Anyway, so far nothing works. If I won't get any more ideas to try out I'll just mod my Oblivion again and keep using the reboot "workaround". +_+

Hey Striker879, thanks for the reply! I tried it and it didn't work either. Do you guys know how to make MOM properly detect Wrye? MOM's button for wrye is always greyed out for me for as long as I've been using it. In the readme file it says to redirect MOM to wrye's "BAIN" folder but I don't have such a folder. The second way to use MOM along with Wrye needs to create a BAIN file and copy some files in it so I tried this now too (I couldn't find two of them though because I don't have an "INI Data" folder) but it didn't work either. I don't think Wrye is the culprit but I thought I should give this a shot.

Thanks for the reply! Nah,that's not it but I forgot to mention that it happens only after I use OBMM and/or Wrye Bash (I can't believe I forgot to write that down! +_+ ). Still, it's random enough because there are instances when I did use them and then managed to swap the image just fine. That's what troubles me, I can't really pinpoint the problem. I tried once with Wrye installed outside of the Oblivion folder and I got the error, maybe I'll try that again but also install OBMM out of the folder.

At random times it fails and the error says that the file is being used by another process. The only "workaround" so far is to reboot which really annoys me. My OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit and the game is installed outside of program files. I tried getting full access of the folder via its properties but it didn't work (maybe I did it wrong, I'm not sure). I'm out of ideas here so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
