  1. Auto-saves are off. It's one of the first things I do when playing Bethesda games.
  2. I am doing a complete vanilla playthrough before modding my game. I have an ILS on my save. It's just one save I've been overwriting because I don't care a whole lot about being able to rescue things with a previous save. I just want to get familiar with the vanilla game first. If I load the first save I made in the doc's house at the beginning, that loads, and if I then load my save, it loads. If I load my save when the game starts or "continue," then I get an ILS every time. This ILS behavior seems to be baked into this save now, because subsequent saves still result in an ILS. This seems to be a known issue and I'm curious if anyone knows why it happens and if there's any way to permanently fix it.
  3. I've been thinking more about this, and I was wondering if maybe this could be in the form of news items inserted into vanilla radio stations. I am officially volunteering to do recording and to be the news DJ/anchorman. I think this would be fun.
  4. Well, I must have been using certain mods for so long I've forgotten. Sorry about the noise. :-)
  5. I'm confused. The only stairs that don't have ramps in my LO are those wooden stairs that end up in my SKE menu. (Sorry, I can't remember which mod it was!) Vanilla concrete stairs have rails and are snappable. Other faction stairs have rails and are snappable. I might not always get the aesthetic I want, but I can always have snappable stairs with rails.
  6. Ooh, I really like this idea. I'd like to help out with two things: script writing and audio. I'm not a voice actor, but I have a small project studio and I could get friends to record voices for the script. I have barely gotten my feet wet with making mods - and that was with loading screens - but I could think about helping you actually create the mod as well. Let me know via PM if you proceed on this. This would be totally awesome. P.S. Also please make sure this mod ends up subtitled if you do it. Another thing I could help you figure out, especially since I have a vague idea for a subtitle overhaul mod anyway. Things are missing in the vanilla game here and there.
  7. There's also an article in there on how to use both LOOT and Wrye Bash to sort properly, at least in terms of sorted masters. You do this before making the merged and bashed patches. Let me know if you run into any trouble or have questions.
  8. l0new0lf331, you mention conflicts. While you still need to pay attention to the advice mod authors give on conflicts, having a merged patch and a bashed patch will help certain things play well together. If you don't have those, check out this article: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/1004 This will not solve stuttering, but you mentioned going through FO4Edit to resolve conflicts, and I wanted to link you to something that might be useful to you. :)
  9. The last couple of settlement attacks seem to not progress properly. I get a warning that a settlement is under attack. I go there. There may or may not be anyone in sight, but I can find enemies lurking. And then nothing. I can spend all day - real life all day - at the settlement and nothing further happens. Yet when I fast travel away, I get the news that the settlement suffered damage in the attack. Has this happened to others and is there a fix? I'm level 51 in case that matters. Will post LO if you think it's mod related and not vanilla related. I have no mods that change attacks, but I have the better warnings mod.
  10. Are your game masters cleaned, and is your load order sorted properly? Cleaning: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/986 Sorting: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/1003 You should also have merged and bashed patches: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/1004 These things will help in minimizing issues in general. I'd be curious to know if it helps you solve this specific issue.
  11. I would reacquire the game files in Steam, and then clean the game masters, as a starting point. See this article on cleaning: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/986
  12. Have you tried reacquiring the game files? Try that, and then clean your masters. Cleaning game files: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/986
  13. Someone recently asked me why the master files for a Bethesda game can't be cleaned all at the same time. I remember reading about this quite a while ago, but I can neither remember the reason nor readily find good information about it. So for what technical reasons can't the game master files all be cleaned simultaneously? Asking to satisfy curiosity.
  14. What attribute, either in FO4Edit or the CK, makes Deathclaws shake the ground when they walk? I find this irritating and unrealistic and want to turn it off. I've found a size attribute and a HeavyKnocker attribute, but turning these off didn't change the quake effect. (In fact, disabling HeavyKnocker crashes the game during the loading screen.)

  16. I can't visualize what you've built very well, but here's a tip: for inner walls, temporarily remove (store) an inner floor piece. Place wall on adjacent floor piece border, then put missing floor piece back. It's how I build inner walls anywhere. If you have no floors, build one anyway, and using the aforementioned tip, set up inner walls. Then remove the floor.
  17. Bottle it and sell it to raiders as an energy drink, because we all know they're not going to bathe with it.
  18. What exactly are you having trouble with?
  19. Hm... can't say what went wrong, but if you're new to modding, maybe the guide I wrote may be of some help to you. The link to the guide is in my sig. :-)
  20. Sounds like your character overheated and decided clothes were optional. :-P Well, if you could post your load order, maybe we can figure out what's going on.
