  1. So The Bannered Mare works fine without Mrissi installed?
  2. Try a new game and see if saves / resting will work with it, this should isolate whether or not it's a save file issue.
  3. Papyrus is filled mostly with junk... A few ideas. "Random" crashes to desktop are typically a memory issue. If you have an ENB installed, you'll want to make sure the following are set in your enblocal.ini (located in your skyrim directory) [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ; this should already be set to trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true ; this should already be set to trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=384 ; If you have a lot of texture mods use 384, if not you can get away with 256 or 128VideoMemorySizeMb=4096 ; set this to your total system memory - 2048 (I recommend a MAX of 4096)EnableCompression=falseAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false If that doesn't fix your issue then the issue is likely related to texture conflicts. In my experience there are only two things that cause a CTD. The first is the memory issue specified above and the second is an issue related to multiple texture, texture maps and mesh overlaps. I've had multiple instances where disabling a single texture mod fixes the problem entirely. If you don't have an ENB then you'll have to install the ENBoost and then modify your INI.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/? Hope this helps.
  4. People have had luck with Safety Load in these situations http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465
  5. All excellent advice. I've mentioned in other posts possibly optimizing your Papyrus scripting system with Cheskos fix may do the trick. I've had it fix a lot of these issues Source: https://sites.google.com/site/skyrimsurvivorseries/frostfall/troubleshooting
  6. bben...sticky post this on this thread  To anyone reading this thread: Get a nice save like bben said, or try Live Another Life (an alternate start mod that bypasses the Helgen sequence). There are reasons beyond belief why the carriage ride gets skewed during that ride. Basically...anything that jostles the camera, carriages, horses...touches the path (navmesh)... Just don't install any mods..or use NMM/MO/Steam to make a clean save from a Vanilla only installation until after Helgen. Both of these guys are correct. If you have a heavily modded game the intro will likely never run correctly. The solution is to disable all mods and go through start sequence then re-enable them after OR install Live another life mod. Another option could be to attempt to optimize your scripting system with Chesko's recommendations on his Frostfall mod, it greatly improved the performance of my scripting system. 7. Random CTDs are most likely a memory issue (unless they occur in the same place every time). If you haven't already, install ENBoost (make sure you follow the documentation!) http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/38649/?
  8. Your diagnosis is likely accurate. Do you have Static Mesh Improvement Mod installed? If so I'd recommend reinstalling it over the top of any other mesh mods you might have installed after it. I believe SMIM includes door meshes.
  9. Random CTDs are most likely a memory issue (unless they occur in the same place every time). If you haven't already, install ENBoost (make sure you follow the documentation!) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/? Loading screen hangs are due to your Papyrus scripting system being overhauled during loading. I always recommend using Cheskos frostfall Papyrus tweak from his official documentation You could also use the Safety Load mod to help with everlasting loading screens, but it's more of a workaround than a fix. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/? Hope it helps.
  10. Get LOOT https://loot.github.io/ After activating your mods in NMM, Install LOOT and run Sort, click Apply, be happy.
  11. Looks odd, I'm with you on that one. I'd install XP32 Maximum Skeleton (as CharlOkais stated) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26800/? Then I'd install Enhanced Camera http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57859/? If you installed Immersive First Person make sure you properly uninstalled it.
  12. If you want some essential foundation knowledge on using Mod Organizer correctly, this series from GamerPoets got me way ahead of the game https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlN8weLk86XhKKC5c-XgOcOqR5VjPuHCl They also have actively answered questions I've posted in their comments section.
  13. If you know the exact mesh and texture used by the mask then you can copy and paste those into the data directory over the top of the original ones. It's pretty rare people know that though. To avoid potential conflicts I'd reinstall the Mod in question. The problem with installing mods with identical meshes and textures is that it's easy to lose track of what is the dominant mod for specific meshes and textures. I'd strongly recommend moving to Mod Organizer (as it lets you see what mesh and texture conflicts exist and then reorganize your archive load order to specify what Mod you want to take priority over others) GamerPoets put together a hell of a guide for doing this: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlN8weLk86XhKKC5c-XgOcOqR5VjPuHCl
  14. I'm just theorizing but is it possible just to package the mesh and texture your going to use into the data directory of your mod and reference it for your custom character?
  15. I'll see if I can add anything of real value here... If you've manually installed mods into Skyrim before using Mod Organizer I would strongly recommend Uninstalling Skyrim and deleting the Skyrim directory and starting with a fresh Vanilla install. Mod Organizer is designed to run off of a vanilla install of Skyrim in your Skyrim directory. It's purpose is to Mod your game without affecting your vanilla installation so you'll never have to reinstall again. 1. Uninstall Mod Organizer and SKSE completely and start over. This includes completely deleting your Mod Organizer folder (feel free to backup all your mods in the Mod directory of Mod Organizer somewhere else) 2. Install SKSE using the Installer method and make sure you choose your Skyrim directory http://www.craigandchris.com/download-skyrim-script-extender/ 3. Install Mod Organizer in your Skyrim Directory, it should automagically detect SKSE http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/ 4. Open Mod Organizer, click the drop down next to the Run button and click Edit... Choose SKSE from the list (it will be grayed out) and verify the following. Binary (must point to skse_loader.exe in your skyrim directory), mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe 5. Verify the Mods in your Mod list are only Mods from the vanilla installation of Skyrim. 6. Install LOOT into your Skyrim directory: https://loot.github.io/ 7. Once again, click the drop down next to the run button in Mod Organizer and choose Edit... 8. In the title, type LOOT, for Binary choose the ... and navigate to the Loot.exe file and select it Mine is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\LOOT\LOOT.exe 9. Click Add, Select Loot from the drop down and Run it. Choose Sort and then Apply. It's important to have LOOT installed separate on Mod Organizer to ensure the latest LOOT master file has been downloaded. 10. Check the Exclamation mark in the top right hand corner of Mod Organizer to see if there are any Problems detected by Mod Organizer 11. Choose SKSE from the drop down and click Run. If it works, copy your Mods folder backup back into your Mods folder of Mod Organizer, relaunch Mod Organizer and your list of mods should appear. Let me know how it goes.
  16. Well... I run a Radeon 6970 desktop card with 2 GB of memory and can't come close to 1080p 60 FPS using ENBs and High Quality Texture Mods my current Total Mod count is 200 and it's decently optimized... I can hit around 30 FPS at 1600 x 900. So I decided to compare your new card with mine and this is what I got from GPU Boss http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-6970-vs-GeForce-GTX-980M Your card is about 10% better than mine which means you may be able to hit 1600 x 900 maxed out with ENBs and full textures... 1080 MIGHT be pushing it. But it really all depends on how much of a different that 4 GB of VRAM your card has vs my 2 GB. Maybe someone can coin in and let us know just how much of a different it makes. That's my experience on it.
  17. Infinite load screens are due to an overhauled scripting system. Safety load is a great fix for this but it's technically a "loophole" for an overhauled scripting system. You may also want to consider implementing Cheskos Papyrus tweak in his troubleshooting documentation to improve your scripting system performance. Modify these values in your skyrim.ini (located in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\skyrim) to help improve your Papyrus scripting performance. [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=20.0 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=20.0fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0iMinMemoryPageSize=128iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800 You may also want to consider reducing script heavy mods in your system. 18. I'm assuming you've checked your display settings in Skyrim to make sure your object and grass load distances are all maxed out. If they are maxed out and the grass still isn't loading it's likely related to uGridsToLoad (which expands the region from your character in which objects can load). I would STRONGLY recommend you not mess with uGridsToLoad unless you know exactly what you are doing, it's a save game killer. You can expand uGridsToLoad upward (at an extreme cost in performance) but if you save your game with that higher setting then it will only work with that setting. If you attempt to reduce uGridsToLoad then your save game will no longer work unless you use an in game console fix. Here's a guide revolving around your issue: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/35760/how-can-i-extend-the-view-distances-further There may be some LODs or long distance mods that can fix that that I am unaware of.
  19. Do you have Immersive Hud installed? You'll need to make sure it's configured to work with Frostfall. How to configure it and other troubleshooting options for the Frostfall Meters are at the Frostfall troubleshooting page https://sites.google.com/site/skyrimsurvivorseries/frostfall/troubleshooting
  20. I forgot to mention the biggest CTD culprits outside of a memory issue for me have been long distance mods and LODs, I'd try disabling those FIRST if you're attempting to find out what's causing the CTD. These are typically only an issue if your CTD is occurring in the Skyrim open world.
  21. A few ideas. "Random" crashes to desktop are typically a memory issue. It appears you have an ENB installed, so you'll want to make sure the following are set in your enblocal.ini (located in your skyrim directory) [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ; this should already be set to trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true ; this should already be set to trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=384 ; If you have alot of texture mods use 384, if not you can get away with 256 or 128VideoMemorySizeMb=4096 ; set this to your total system memory - 2048 (I recommend a MAX of 4096)EnableCompression=falseAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false If that doesn't fix your issue then the issue is (as you said) likely related to texture conflicts. In my experience there are only two things that cause a CTD. The first is the memory issue specified above and the second is an issue related to multiple texture, texture maps and mesh overlaps. I've had multiple instances where disabling a single texture mod fixes the problem entirely. As for your purple item issue, this is unrelated to your CTD. In my experience purple items are caused by one of two reasons. The first reason is that you installed a mod that adds new objects and meshes but the textures were improperly installed (so it's loading the object but no texture for the object). The second reason is that you installed a mod that included a custom mesh and texture and that object is referenced in your SAVE file, then you decided you didn't want the mesh and texture but the reference is still there in your save game. The only solution is to find out what texture / mesh the object is referenced by and reinstall it OR start a new game hoping it was just a reference in your save file. Hope this helps.
  22. Not sure how much value I can add to this but it sounds like a scripting issue. I've experienced intermittent scripting issues due to too many mods that overhaul the scripting system. It MAY be worth modifying your Skyrim.ini file with Cheskos recommended Papyrus memory tweaks to see if they resolve the issue (they helped my scripting system at the very least) Source: https://sites.google.com/site/skyrimsurvivorseries/frostfall/troubleshooting Let me know if it helps.
  23. Sounds like it's time for a fresh install bud. Your immediate CTD is from removing mods in which other mods require (it's a "missing masters" issue) The missing dialogue is likely related to the installation of a mod that affects character dialogue and then (perhaps) the improper removal of that mod. I personally prefer Mod Organizer but it is a bit more complicated, you may want to stick with Nexus Mod Manager and install mods one at a time... remember your save files have dependencies on mods if you activate them while playing the game so there are issues that can occur from the installation and removal of mods and continually playing the same game. I've broken many a saved game from this.
  24. I know Wrye Bash has a tweak during bashed patch creation to increase max followers, that may also be an alternative.
