  1. It's not all of Hammerfell just a small portion called the Alik'r Desert. It's mainly just dry I think but yes it does get hot. Elsweyr has forests like Black Marsh does but in the southern area near the ocean. Keep in mind these are *tropical rain forests*. They're real hot but get plenty of moisture from the ocean that it borders thus allowing for tropical plant life.
  2. That would work, if it applied unilatterally, but the most northern regions of Morrowind are stil quite warm and not known for wintery conditions. We also know nothing about Alavir's or Yokuda's climate, assure from the fact that Akavir has a territory inhabited by the Kamal. Most projected maps I've seen actually place the Kamal further south than Skyrim, or even in the center of Akavir. We also know that, reactive or not, the Towers are still massive focuii of power. White-Gold has almost certainly been off since the events of Oblivion, with the destruction of the Amulet of Kings (each Tower is powered by a 'stone') but it was still able to focus enough creatia that, during the Umbriel Crisis, both Lord Umbriel and the Chancellor tried to use it for their own goals. It seems that, so long as the Tower remains standing, it still has linger effects. With the total destruction of Crystal-Like-Law, we can only imagine what havoc is going on in Summerset right now if that is the case. It's also possible that, due to the magical nature of Nirn, the Towers olaffect the 'Desktop settings' and that new setting persists in a region until changed. Cyrodiil seems to he an example of this, what with it not being a jungle anymore. As for Auri'el's bow and blocking out the Sun... The Sun is not the only source of Magicka. The Stars still allow it through. The Sun is simply the biggest, most powerful source of pure Aetherial Energies. The Stars supply more than enough power for most mages to use, and since most of the magic used in TES is on the lower end (complicated ritual magic is far more intensive) it doesn't really suffer from the Sun being blocked anymore than it does at nighttime. Ah yes, I forgot about the stars, but night wouldn't really apply as radiated Aetherial energy is still circulating through Mundus from the sun like how heat is circulated through ocean currents....different from being blotted out altogether. What I'm saying is that maybe with the sun darkened it could have a small but noticeable effect. Like a spell failing every once in a while or something of that nature. Anyway, on the topic of climate. I've read somewhere that Morrowind gets a lot of heat from the geothermal energy coming from the various volcanoes that dot the landscape. The heat is prevented from affecting Skyrim because of the mountain range that divides the two provinces. Not to mention the buildup of carbon dioxide in the air around Morrowind's area which would prevent some of the geothermal heat from escaping. I do agree with your point that such a massive volcano like Vvardenfell erupting like it did would produce an extreme climate shift. Im not trying to disapprove of your explanation that magic is the cause of the climates of Tamriel...I'm saying it's a mix of both a natural flow and an influence of magic.
  3. I find some parts of the lore of TES have holes in them. Like how the sun is the source of magicka on Nirn yet when you blot it out with Auri-el's Bow it has no effect on wizards and magic in general. Also, if most of the towers are either deactivated or broken how do they still influence the world around them? Seems like the world would go about its own way if what is influencing it stops. It seems to me the continent of Tamriel (and Akavir for that matter) follow a climate pattern similar to our own. Like how it gets cold and snowy in Skyrim up north but it's dry and hot in Elsweyr down south. In regard to seasons, I think it was just a technical limitation on Bethesda's part rather than a lore thing. Even Esbern, a character in the main quest talks about how on the 30th of Frostfall (equivalent to October IRL) it was a particularly cold day around the Bruma area which draws on the idea that it was approaching winter. Skyrim stars around Hearthfire which is equivalent to August IRL which would be late summer if you live in the northern hemisphere. That is why the Riverwood area looks relatively warm with little snow unless you move to a higher elevation, and you don't even have to go that much higher.
  4. This post could be a problem as I know nexus doesn't support modding console versions of games as well as their save games. Technically converting console save games to PC is the same as modding them. Don't expect a helpful response just saying...
  5. You know I think it's funny...soon games will be so advanced that the line between our real world and a virtual one will blur. Nowadays video games are so popular that more and more money is being invested that man....I can't even...
  6. If you have the game on Steam, go to the properties tab when you right click the Skyrim game title. Click "verify game integrity"...if you have a corrupted audio file it might fix it.
  7. I feel hollow most of the time...like life just flows through me and I have to conform to its demands or suffer. And games like Skyrim help a good deal. I actually decided to go back to school and learn programming and game development. My first class starts in like 4 days. I figured since I spent most of my time gaming I might as well make a living off of it. EDIT: I was gonna do Psychology but I decided it wasn't for me.
  8. I had a build called the Dreamweaver. It was a character that used Vaermina's staff to steal people's dreams while also using only illusion magic. For this build I invested perks in light armor and used the Nightingale armor set. It was fun to play with.
  9. If all else fails go to the console by pressing the ` key an type in: setstage solitudefreeform07 20. This advance the quest past the horn part.
  10. I doubt that is legit. Looks like someone took the cover of skyrim and photoshopped it. I personally don't care where the next TES game is as long as it has an excellent plot with an improved engine and better gameplay.
  11. You're kinda in the wrong site if that's your point of view lol Anyway, back to the subject. I rarely download big and script heavy mods as for me it just isn't worth it. Too many risks and bugs and incompatibilities which require patches...so on and so forth. I stick to the mods like the populated series which just adds more NPCs to the game. I've never really broke my game except for when I installed an overhaul I really wanted for a playthrough. I couldn't get it to work right and it was just causing problems so I just uninstalled it and deleted the save game (didn't care for it anyway).
  12. The Thalmor and the Empire both come from the same continent: Tamriel. We all know all the provinces were hit, but I'm talking about other continents entirely. Akavir, Pyandonea, maybe Atmora but there isn't really anything worth invading there.
  13. I was kinda thinking that maybe Dagon only committed his forces on the continent of Tamriel at first, as that region holds the biggest threat ending his invasion because of Martin. After he succeeds in taking over Tamriel then he could've start the siege of Akavir and other continents. If I was him I wouldn't want to stretch my forces out like that. Maybe I'm wrong though as I've read somewhere that there are almost innumerable daedra hordes. Stretching your forces out in that case wouldn't be a problem.
  14. I'm kinda curious...would the continent of Akavir (and other foreign continents like Pyandonea) have been affected by the Daedric Invasion? Seems like Mehrunes Dagon would have wanted ALL of Nirn and not just the continent of Tamriel. Maybe the daedra did invade those areas but it's just not recorded. Post your thoughts.
  15. Seems like all you would really need to do is get a rather decent mic and recording software and just play the game like you usually would, except add a bit commentary and tips as you go along. It's not as complex as you're making it out to be. Keep in mind that Skyrim is getting to be an older game so most people wouldn't really be interested in a new lets pay of the game. If you're really bound and determined to do something like this, if I were you I'd wait until a new TES game comes out, then you'd probably fid a lot more success and interest from viewers.
  16. I think my only real complaint about TES games is the feeling that what you do doesn't seem to have any real consequence in the game world. That and the occasional AI stupidity that you may encounter from time to time. Like in Skyrim it felt like even though you were the Archmage, Harbinger, Listener, Thieves Guild's Guildmaster, AND the Last Dragonborn of legend etc. etc., nobody really cared. Of course, you could choose to roleplay and only be in one faction to make it more realistic, even then it still feels that way. You could also transform into a VL and kill an entire town, then either go to jail for 7 days (lol) or pay off the fine, if you have enough gold. After that you go about your business like nothing happened and rinse and repeat if you choose to. It just...I don't even.....god it just bugs me. Also way more character depth would be a HUGE improvement...at least to me. Being a walking killing machine all the time is just boring and immersion breaking for me.
  17. So I had this horse that was killed by a dragon a short time ago. I walked across skyrim (I don't fast travel) and bam my horse appeared out of no where, although it was very strange as it made the sounds a horse makes (breathing and tail flick) but it's completely still and I can move through it. So I figured i'd just markfordelete it so it doesn't stay there indefinitely. After I save and load from doing that I get a CTD within 1.5 seconds. Does anyone have idea what this bug is and if there's a way to fix it? Haven't been able to find anything on google about it. Also, why am I getting a CTD from deleting it?
  18. What difficulty do you have it on? I would suggest lowering the difficulty by one, e.g. from legendary to master.
  19. Haha I didn't even know anything about that. There's always another surprise in the lore of TES.
  20. In the main quest where you first meet Paarthurnax he says that if Alduin were to be successful in devouring the world that the action could just be the beginning of a new one. I'm not sure if this is true or if it is just speculation on Paarthurnax's part but if it was true and the Dragonborn was unsuccessful, how do you think a new world would develop? How would the Et'Ada (Aedra and Daedra) involve themselves in such thing? These kind of questions I'm asking you.
  21. So I'm fighting this Thalmor Wizard and it looks like he's trying to cast a conjuration spell on me. He's following me like it's an offensive spell and when he finally casts it, suddenly there is a conjure animation around me and I drop dead with no armor (or necklaces etc.). I have the Apocalypse Spell Package but as far as I know it doesn't let any of the NPCs use any spells from the mod. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I have no mods that alter NPCs in any way and most of them are script free.
