Not sure what's causing it but there is this benign dialogue bug I have that causes random words or parts of words in NPC's dialogue to cut out. For example: "This apple pie is r---ly tasty!" (really) "I have this rash on my el--w." (elbow) I've had this happen in a modded version of skyrim and an unmodded version. I've check the game integrity with steam and nothing is wrong there. It's not that big of a deal but if anyone knows what it is and/or knows how to fix it would be great.

CTD in Dragonsreach when entering/exiting/saving/waiting
VolkiharFiend replied to applesauce34's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You know I had this bug for a while when I played vanilla on console. I would enchant a Daedric Dagger in Dragonsreach with the same enchanting table i'm assuming you're using...and bam the game would crash. Sometimes it'll let me attack a few of Balgruuf's guards but it would inevitably crash. So it may not have anything to do with your mods.- 8 replies

And yet, you can kill him with a few fireballs and a couple sword thrusts. Skyrim logic...

It would also explain why they're not as sensitive to the cold as you would think normal reptiles would be. You also gotta remember that argonians exist in a fantasy world so normal earthly rules don't have to apply there. They could be an altogether different type of creature.

First Skyrim Playthrough, Recommended Mods?
VolkiharFiend replied to RhumGoggles's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'd try the Populated series of mods. They are I believe 4 of them: Populated lands roads paths, Populated forts towers places, Populated ruins caves and dungeons, and populated towns villages and cities. There are also a couple that populate the civil war but I haven' tried them yet. I have not had any issues with these mods as they use the vanilla system to disperse the NPCs. There is a scripted version of the lands roads and paths version that lets you hire the random mercenaries that wander about. These mods make Skyrim feel more lively as you will come to know the emptiness of the land in the vanilla version soon enough haha. You can't get them on the nexus anymore but you can find them at the modders' website (google it). Perfectly safe I assure you. -
Whats the longest you have gone on 1 save?
VolkiharFiend replied to dennisj's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not sure how many hours I have on it but I have this save from when I used to play on the console that I played on and off for like 3 years haha. But it's completely vanilla since it's on console. When I do use mods on PC I use the light mods with little to no scripts like the populated series for example. -
In Skyrim I've had this character that was good halfway through the playthrough but he contracts vampirism and just turns into a corrupted version of himself. After all, vampires were created by the lord of corruption haha. I've always viewed vampires as people who are power hungry and want an edge against regular people who they either despise them or just think they're better. To me werewolves are people who like the freedom of the wild and take lycanthropy as a chance to merge themselves with nature. That or they're warriors or hunters who want an edge against other people (like vampires). Of course, there are people who accidently become infected with either disease and view it as a curse. Personally I've always preferred vampirism (I guess that's says a lot about me lol).

Dawnguard: Kindred Judgment does not start
VolkiharFiend replied to grinphase's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Are any of the Death Hounds dead? (Garmr and CuSith) I think if any of them die before Kindred Judgement starts it'll bug out and not start. -
Vampire keeps being attacked with dawnguard no bounty.
VolkiharFiend replied to skyquest32's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I don't think it's hunger or follower vampire hostility since it's only the guards attacking him. Has to be something with a crime of some kind. -
All I got out of that was kill a boy or his father, 100s of quests, and something about someone's homeland...oh and some chick named Hannah lol idk.

LE Turning NPC into vampires - only eye effect
VolkiharFiend replied to Tarreth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
The mod "Better Vampires" allows you to turn NPCs into vampires via a special power. You simply activate the power and bite them...then you have a vamp. Some NPCs even turn into followers. I've tested it out many times and I haven't found any bugs. All the turned NPCs have the same vampiric abilities you have, they have glowy eyes (Dawnguard version), and they even feed when they're hungry. All while keeping everything about the NPC (factions etc.) intact. Look into it, bruh. -
Vampire lord bats power in human form?
VolkiharFiend replied to Hork3r's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'm sure there is a mod somewhere that gives you the powers and spells of a VL in your normal form. I don't personally know it but if you do some digging I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for or something similar. -
Vampire keeps being attacked with dawnguard no bounty.
VolkiharFiend replied to skyquest32's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I think this can happen when you kill someone innocent in a hold and travel near some guards right after you kill said person. You may not even have a bounty for them to attack you. Try to travel to a different hold and wait for a day or so and come back. They shouldn't be hostile. OR...I do know that in the vanilla game (without Dawnguard DLC) npcs will attack you if you haven't fed in 72 hours (3 days). Dawnguard changes this by making it to where npcs will never attack you when you're starving. I also know the Better Vampires mod changes this feature back to the vanilla style even with Dawnguard, so that might be your problem. The mod author did make it customizable so you can revert vampire hostility back to Dawnguard style (no hostility when starving). EDIT: Sorry, didn't read your post correctly. Vampire hostility isn't the problem here since only the guards are attacking you. I would say the problem is the hidden bounty I mentioned above, but I could be wrong. Have you attacked anyone recently? Try doing something to get a small bounty (steal a sweetroll or sum'n) then sheathe your weapon(s) and try to get them to confront you about your theft. If it works, pay off the bounty and it should be fixed. If all else fails it could be a wild bug or something to do with your mods. Good Luck. -
OK so I'm trying to do this immersive thing where I'm gonna install a winter overhaul mod (COT-winter edition) when it gets to the corresponding time of year in game. Then when it goes back to summer I'll uninstall the mod. Anyway...does anyway know if I'll have to uninstall the original COT and replace it with the winter edition, or can I have them both installed at the same time? It doesn't indicate in the mod description page. Also is it safe to casually uninstall i.e. no scripts?

It's all about that nostalgia factor. I for one don't like Oblivion's redundant dungeons and quests, but because of the nostalgia I have with it I go back to play it every once in a while (it was the ES game I've ever played like the other guy here). I just hope TES6 has more intricate and unique quests that have huge impacts on you, the characters around you, and the game world itself. It also bugs me how when you join a guild you could be their leader in less than a week if you wanted to, and not to mention you could be the leader of EVERYTHING and you still would have little to no influence on the world. I wish I could go back to before I ever played Oblivion just so I could play it and be like "wow! omg! so beautiful! amazing!" again . Same with Skyrim... Now when I play I'm just like: "yeeeeep been there done that".

Interesting NPCs follower problem
VolkiharFiend replied to VolkiharFiend's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
My bad guys lol I did some troubleshooting and it turns out a there was a vampire hiding in the bushes. I also had the when vampires attack mod installed so all the npcs were cowering in terror...not glitching out. Funny thing is the vampire attacked when the sun was high lol...desperate much? Whoever manages the forums feel free to lock or delete this topic. -
So I started using a follower from the 3DNPC mod which worked fine. I dismissed him for a while and came back to his location (riverwood inn) to use him as a follower again. He started dialogue with Delphine and after it was done he just stood there. I Went up to him and clicked the dialogue option *Follow me. I need your help." but he just stands there. I tried walking outside to see if he'd follow me but nope. The only way he'll follow me is if I tell I need him to do something. He'll follow while he's waiting to for me to give him a command but when I exit the command cursor he'll just stand there again. I recently installed the mods Wet and Cold and COT if this is relevant. EDIT: So I went back to see if I could solve the problem and it seems ALL the npcs inside of the inn are stuck just standing there. 2 interesting npcs and like 4 or 5 vanilla. On a side note all the shops and houses in riverwood are locked even though it's like midday. wtf...

403 Forbidden when trying to download mods
VolkiharFiend replied to grailknighthero's topic in Site Support
It let me download with the mod manager but when I try to download manually it gives me the error... -
I'd like a mod that allows the game world to change in intricate ways and not be so static all the time. For example, there could be small things like every once in a while a trader like Belethor will retire or something and someone else will buy his shop from him. Then major (but extremely rare things) like a random clan of vampires or a group of dragons come out of nowhere and burn down a village(or even a city). The people then work together to rebuild and make it better. Or maybe even an entirely new city or village or farm is built to accommodate a growing population. I'd also like more permanent consequences for your actions and decisions. Like if you join the vampire clan in the Dawnguard DLC and decide to drain the life of everyone in a city. People will know who you are and forever attempt to hunt you down. Just things like that. I just hate how the game world is so static...and relatively forgiving of your actions. But I'm sure a mod like this would surely be impossible for the current game engine . Maybe in the next game...maybe...

Alternate start back stories for role playing

Oooo I like this site. So I guess I could add the mod around late Hearthfire early Frostfall. Thanks fellow nightstalker lol.

I'm not very familiar with how the seasons or the months relating to the seasons work in Tamriel. So I'm assuming the game starts while it's summer because of the lack of snow in much of the southern part of the province. So I recently started a new save and I was wondering when winter would start so when the time comes I'll add the winter mod for skyrim. Anyone know how the seasons work?

Alternate start back stories for role playing
VolkiharFiend replied to Kaltornen's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Alright another kinda comedy roleplay here: so an autistic khajiit dragonborn goes through the main quest just doing random and often immoral stunts because of his limited understanding. His Thu'um is unusually powerful because his mind is not clouded by the distractions of a fully functional mind(should use some kind of shout enhancer mod here). He eventually defeats Alduin, something no other mortal could do, because the almighty dragon couldn't predict what the khajiit would do next in his chaotic fighting style.
