  1. I fully disagree with this. I can take a ballpoint pen apart, grab another inkwell, and put it in the original pen sheathe. That doesn't necc mean I understand how an inkwell works, let alone the ballpoint. But I can take it apart and make it work again. In another pen, if I desire. Heck, I can even change the color.
  2. Another Conjuartion Tip - Cast Soul Trap repeatedly on a corpse.
  3. I have subtitles turned on and every once in a while I see the words a dragon says. Never when theyre attacking me though, always another NPC. It's rare but it does happen.
  4. Bowmanship was, and always has been, a form of artillery. It was used mainly as a defensive posture in the beginning of it's history, then became a part of the battlefield, playing a critical role. It is a Combat skill, hands down. If you *CHOOSE* to sneak around and use it, that still doesn't mean it should bend to Stealth... any more so than a One-Handed dagger to the neck should. Furthermore, I could sneak up on you while you're asleep and donkey-punch ya. Are my bare fists stealth weapons now? No. Grapple, Wrestling and Boxing are all combat skills.
  5. Has anyone ever found a reason, aside from the MQ, to go back? I thought it was great my first time but have no reason (that I know of) to return.
  6. Maven is marked essential and cannot be killed.
  7. The catch-all merchies, alchemists, and Khajiit. Getting a wife doesn't hurt, either.
  8. I posted about the "Madwoman" NPC over on the silly thread, but that got me to thinking about my experiences with the staff. So I thought maybe a few of you had some funny times with Wabbajack. I keep mine handy for high-level Draugr. And the other day I had a Deathlord bearing down on me, hacking me to pieces. I backpedaled into a narrow corridor, slammed a couple Heal potions, and readied the 'Jack. He's still coming at me full force, so I used my Unrelenting shout to stun him a sec, and then hit him with the Wabba. A sweetroll -- no joke -- appeared right at this Draugr's feet and he stopped everything he was doing with me to stare, fixated, at this sweetroll sitting on the ground. So I took advantage of his confusion and laid him out. Greatness! Thank you, sweetroll!!!
  9. I had an NPC named "Madwoman" run up to me on the side of the road. She noticed I was carrying the Wabbajack and was begging for me to use it on her. After her request, all she'd say was, "Wabbajack! Wabbajack! Wabbajack!!" So I hit her with it and she turned into a rabbit. Ran away, then morphed back into her original form and became hostile. I thu'um'ed her to death and then checked her inventory. She was carrying a set of tongs!
  10. I haven't seen that but I have seen a Hagraven take a dragon down with the mass fireballs they cast. I think I was about lvl 30 so the Hagraven would have been pretty tough.
  11. My character now (2nd playthrough for me) is at blood-starved stage 4 and I'm having a blast roaming the world with him. If I encounter something using fire, I have an amulet and a ring that all reduce fire (to 0% dmg, which really is only 85% in the game) and I only feed when I absolutely HAVE to enter a city. It's all in how you roll with it.
  12. Knowing when the Khajiit appear outside Windhelm (Middas for me in my current game) is the best way: Inside Windhelm you can sell off weaps and armor to the blacksmith, then visit the catch-all dark elf woman with a stall right across from him, then the alchemy across from her, then another catch-all spot across town (dark elf guy) THEN go outside and finish with the Khajiit. (It also helps if you have a wife in Hjerim!) You'll walk away with A LOT of gold. Then you can wait a couple days, go back in (or a week for the Khajiit) and repeat. It really isn't difficult at all unless you have like ADD or something. Jack n Coke are all I need. :whistling:
  13. If you're like me and enjoy the night eternal, you can ... set timescale to 1 ... and minutes will pass in the game as they do in real life. Note two things though. The default timescale is 20 in this game (not 30 like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.) Also, this timescale change had a nasty effect of causing CTDs in the Fallout games whenever you were force-moved to another location, whether by quest or NPC. set timescale to 20 will revert you to default. If you saved and exited the game and come back later and not sure what timescale you're on you can type ... show timescale ... and it'll tell you in the console.
  14. He cant pay anything, according to his OP. Markarth is seriously bugged.
  15. Firstly, the OP's mistaken. It isn't "The Talos Conspiracy," it's "The Forsworn Conspiracy." The guy in the temple, who was your contact throughout the Conspiracy quest, is killed by the guards that are hostile. If he isn't dead, then it's just a minor glitch. Either way, getting arrested starts a new quest, "No One Escapes From <whatever the mine name is>." Or something similar - I've only done the quest once. After arrest, you don't go to the "dungeon" like in other holds, it starts the new quest for the Escape. Which has some pretty serious challenges in it. And, at the end, you're back to 'normal' .... however you define that in your own skin.
  16. The Vampire priest that Morvarth visits and 20 questions is the author of Immortal Blood. The town guard had to carry torches to make their rounds; but the man who came to call at my chapel carried no light with him. I came to learn that Movarth Piquine could see in the dark almost as well as the light - an excellent talent, considering his interests were exclusively nocturnal.
  17. I cant get Steam news to open Did the LAA make it into the last patch?
  18. Isn't that supposed to be included in a patch?
  19. This? http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013
  20. The Wiki still says it's bugged. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Missing_in_Action
  21. I just finished the Bard quest with Olaf yesterday and they woke up in waves. Not all at once. That would have been insane.
  22. Knife fighting underwater (only) should be re-enabled. It's a trained aspect in our times. (But then again so is running with a lance/spear/sword/archery on horseback.) My main complaint about Morvath is that he could "land 1000 blows" in the book, yet I took him down at his dinner table with conjuring and a waraxe. Again, he didnt land the first blow or the last.
  23. Hopefully we - with the CS - can break this quest at the tail end and say, "Sorry, you must be 75+ in two magic schools before we can let you assume the title." That makes it a little more realistic.
  24. I got one that was supposed to lead to a hollow, fallen tree, with the loot hidden inside the hollow part. It just didn't spawn when I read the note. And there was no mistaking the fact it should have been in the tree. I had another bug where I had Treasure Map IX in my possession (may have even been the place I referenced above, I can't remember) and I walked into my Proudspire Manor home in Solitude. When the interior loaded I got a message saying "Treasure Map IX removed" along with the crumpled paper sound. Why would entering my own home cause that item to be picked away from me? Weird stuff with those maps.
  25. Here's a Vampire trick I recently discovered. If you'd like to pass time (say, 3 days for shops to restock) without wanting to deal with the hassle of feeding in between, find a chair and sit in it and wait. I was able to get a full week's time to pass without the Vampire stage thing happening. I probably could have done it indefinitely. I don't know if this tip/trick/exploit works on all sitting furniture (I haven't tried benches) but, if you own the house in Solitude, any of the chairs on the 2nd floor will work. And any of the chairs that are the same model found elsewhere in the game.
