  1. Couple questions here, hoping yall could shed some light. 1) Spent about half of my tax return this year (approx. $470) on essentially a new computer. Previous build: Intel DG45ID motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz CPU 6GB DDR2 (Can't think of brand right off) EVGA GeForce GTX465 Super Clocked GPU 2GB Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champ1on Series sound card Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit Current build: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard AMD FX-4350 Vishera Quad Core 4.2GHz (Overclocked to 4.5GHz) 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3 EVGA GeForce 960 SuperClocked 4GB Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champ1on Series sound card Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit Sound like a decent build to you guys?? 2) I'm having a bit of an issue with my audio. Whenever I have tried to update audio drivers, I would Blue Screen, with a ha20x22k.sys driver stoppage report, then getting stuck in a boot cycle until a hard reset. The research I have done on this system file, says that it is used by Creative Labs for their drivers??? Also, I have tried to update the RealTek HD Audio drivers, and the same error occurs. Here is the kicker, I have wiped my hard drive and did a complete reinstall of Windows (with all the updates and Service Pack 2), and the issue will still occur. Are there any ideas that you guys could throw out that I could try to resolve this issue? 3) What are yalls recommendations for a replacement sound card, as I now believe mine to be dead. The card itself is getting power, however, the front control panel does not illuminate, and my system is NOT recognizing it to be installed, even after being installed on a different motherboard and with a clean hard drive. 4) Don't laugh at this one, as I am not currently financially able to upgrade Windows, but will Fallout 4 run fairly decently on Vista?? Don't want to spend the money on the game and it not work.
  2. Ahh...I know that one. An a capella group, Rockapella, was the original.
  3. Nuka Cola Quantum So, when Fallout 4 is released, Target will begin selling, for a limited time, Nuka Cola Quantum. Who all will be buying this to drink during the Fallout 4 expeditions???
  4. This thread is better suited under "Mod Troubleshooting". Try turning Archive Invalidation off then on again. Also, make sure that the textures installed correctly.
  5. No. Do not get rid of the script. You do that, you break the quest. Have you tried turning off the radio instead??
  6. Depends on how long you signed up for. If it was a monthly, 3 month, 6 month, etc, than it will expire when that time period ends. If you did the lifetime, then you would have to take that up with Dark0ne.
  7. have you tried going to FALLOUT.ini and adding the line iNumHWThreads=2
  8. This is a long shot, and a lot of people argue against it, but it has worked for me in the past. If you have FO3Edit, make 2 copies of it. Rename one copy FO3MasterUpdate.exe and other FO3MasterRestore.exe. FO3MasterUpdate marks all the .esp's as .esm's
  9. I would LOVE to drop a Duramax mated to an Allison into it :D I can dream, right? lol. I had already planned to put a new engine into it, since I have no idea what is wrong with the engine, if anything (my uncle doesn't even know why it was parked). Wiring probably would be an issue. The OE harness is for a diesel, and I do not think that it will work all that great with a gasoline engine, if the harness is in good shape. Not many junk/scrapyards where the truck is currently at, so I may have to get the rust spots bondo'd. As for parts, if a part store doesn't have what I am looking for, I'm pretty sure Summit Racing, JEGS, JC Whitney, Year One, etc, would have it.
  10. The Sierra was never as iconic as the Silverado is, or was. But like I had said earlier, it belonged to my late grandfather who passed away this past Tuesday. I pretty much grew up riding around my hometown and in the mountains of Virginia in that truck, and to be honest, I don't want to see it leave the family. So I guess you can say that it has a lot of sentimental value to me, something I can pass down to one of my nieces or nephews, or possibly one of my children one day. From what little I had the chance to look over the truck, there were some rust spots on the body, the interior seemed to be in decent shape, but most of the work looked to be centered around the mechanical and electrical aspects, from where it has been sitting for the past 13-14 years or so.
  11. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. I have recently acquired my late grandfathers 1982 GMC Sierra K2500 from my uncle. Here is the caveat: it has not been started in close to 15 years, plus, according to my uncle, it was a diesel and was converted to gas. I am wondering if I should spend the time and money restoring the truck to operating (and then some) condition.
  12. In response to post #10413419. #10414066, #10414089 are all replies on the same post. Congrats to you and your team Dark0ne on your success and future successes with the network. Yall's hardwork has not gone unnoticed by the community, and most, if not all, appreciate the countless hours coding, debugging, and debugging the debugging you and your team are putting in to get the network back to full health. And like syzygybeth said, ignore the twits.
  13. If you are referring to changing the texture's listed under the Fallout3.esm column in FO3Edit, you can't. You can only override it with the textures from another mod.
  14. therealnumberyellow: are you using FOMM or NMM? Arsentic: the Blackened patches are compatibility patches. you would place them underneath the last file of the mods you are patching together. i saw that you are using EVE. in order to use the Blackened patches that require EVE, you MUST use the Paradox Ignition merger, found here: Paradox Ignition presents The Mergers
  15. ok. when you press play in steam, does this pop up? that is the default launcher http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/quicksilverva/defaultlauncher_zps80393b60.jpg if so, and there IS no .ini file present, this should pop up: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/quicksilverva/inigeneration_zps0cd9e150.jpg once that is done, this should pop up: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v727/quicksilverva/inigenerationdone_zpsa95bcfc8.jpg once that is done, press play and the FALLOUT.ini file will be generated if it didnt work, go to Documents\My Games\Fallout3 and delete the files Renderer Info, Fallout Prefs, and try again
  16. You can force the NPCs to wear clothing by editing a couple values in the GECK, but in game, unless the clothing has a higher DR value than any armor they are wearing, odds are they wont wear the clothing. you could try the following console commands: 1) open console *type the following lines without the < > 2) prid <npc ref id> 3) equipitem <item base id> 4) unquipitem <item base id> more information, look here
  17. therealnumberyellow: Please post your load order and/or system specs. jd1231: If you found a file that says FALLOUT, you have found the FALLOUT.ini that gets referenced quite a bit. A little more information could be helpful: Do you have autosaves turned on, and if so, does it crash during the autosave when you enter an interior?
  18. Archive Invalidation is not the issue. I have experienced the same issue when I assigned the hunting rifle's attack animation as the default attack animation for a custom bolt-action rifle. When I assigned a different attack animation to the same rifle, the problem went away. If you know how to use the G.E.C.K. or FO3Edit, try chaning the attack animation and see if that clears up your issue.
  19. arnett, Go to your install directory, copy fallout_default.ini, then go back to Documents\My Games\Fallout3, and paste a copy of the fallout_default.ini renaming it to FALLOUT.ini. If that doesn't work, delete the FALLOUT.ini you just created, then try to launch Fallout 3 through the default launcher. A pop up box will appear stating that Fallout will detect your current video setting and select a default graphics setting to match. This will also generate a FALLOUT.ini.
  20. Prensa, You are correct about the 2 VATS modules from FWE. Those 4 MMM modules you mentioned are also included in the Marts Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp Arsentic, There is a couple things: -Activate Marts Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.esp. I don't think your game will run too smoothly without it. -Are you using the original EVE, or the Paradox Ignition EVE? The Paradox Ignition EVE is essentially the same as the original EVE, but everything has been merged together to reduce load order size, and from what I understand, more stable than the original. It can be found Here. -The FOIP patches are really outdated. Use them at your risk. Instead, use the Blackened patches instead. -Project Reality is resource intensive. Try deactivating it and see if you have better performance/less crashing. -Get your load order straightened out. Use BOSS to do just that.
  21. the .ini will not generate unless you first try to launch the game from the default game launcher. once you do that, a pop up window will appear saying that it will detect your video card and set the graphics settings accordingly, then will say to what preset your settings have been set to. once that has been done, you can then play the game from either the default launcher, FOMM/NVMM, or FOSE
  22. your game save is corrupted. nino is right. use the fatman and shoot at your feet, killing yourself. this will force the game to reload the information and allow you to continue on. without crashing on save. not a 100% fix, but it does work. avoid using quicksave and quickload all together as it is buggy and can cause corrupted saves, and use some form of autosave manager
