  1. I like reading your posts as they are detailed and can tell you put a little thought in your ideas. Keep us in touch how the game continues to evolve for you. That is what this messageboard is all about. I do agree with your earlier post FNV definitely lacks the oompf in the beginning like Falout 3 did but the storyline does get interesting as you progress further into the game.
  2. No need to hijack other peoples threads now. You obviously never played Fallout 1 or 2. The storyline of the original fallout series resemble New Vegas much further then Fallout 3 did. In fact when Fallout 3 was released the Fallout 1 and 2 hardcore gamers criticised the storyline of Fallout 3. Like I said, if you played Fallout 1 or 2, you would feel much at ease with New Vegas. Based on your interpretation of a "Fallout" world it's obvious you did not get into the series til Fallout 3 and that's okay.
  3. Yea that first intro sequence was pretty cool in Fallout 3. That is until you are starting your 5th or 6th different generation character and just want to bypass it all. Glad there was mods to allow me to bypass the birth / introduction storyline sequence instead of having to go thru it for the upteenth time.
  4. Vanilla Fallout 3 wasn't worth going through a 2nd time either and DLC's can only add so much extra content. What made Fallout 3 worth playing over and over again was the Modding community, FNV will be the same way.
  5. If it's anything like FWE, Timescale will have an impact on Food, Drink, Sleep requirements. I am gonna have to adjust mine to see if it makes a difference.
  6. Hey Arwen, been a big fan of your Fallout / Oblivions website, great information to be had alongside a quality list of recommended mods, etc. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge with your fellow gamers! Agree with the OP, while I love vanilla hardcore mode, I want it to go further. Food, Water, Sleep requirements need to be amped up a tad.
  7. Steam updates the game automatically unless you set the option off.
  8. Retail is kind of the same way. When I first purchased Fallout 3 on release day, Best buy had a locked cabinet full of endless copies of Fallout 3 but there was a sign pasted on the front. DO NOT SELL TIL <insert Date here>. So I assume a few retail stores get copies in advance of release date but can't sell it even tho they have hardcopies. My recently purchased Gamespot copy of New Vegas is same way. This time there is a nice sticker on the box that says, DO NOT SELL TIL 10/19/2010
  9. Agreed the vanilla Fallout UI is painful to watch. Darnified spoiled my arse ! Glad to hear it's being worked on!! Poor console gamers!! :ninja:
  10. I am only level 4 and feel the opposite effect. Like to see a bit more spawns. Am sure Matt's Mutant Mart mod will eventually resolve this. Lastly find yourself a good weapon. I found a weapon called the "Incinerator" and it blows away all the early weapons. Basically the weapon is a form of Flamer which is a Damage over time effect. No longer do I need to trade shots on tough opponents. Shoot and run like a little girl or hide behind buildings as the enemies health starts dropping as his skin slowly burns, haha. Basically have upped my survival rate when out exploring. btw am playing on hardcore mode.
  11. Just as large as Fallout 3. Reviews state easily 100+++++ hours of gameplay if you stop to do all the side quests and explore the world fully.
  12. If you love Fallout 3, New Vegas is a must have. New Vegas is gonna rock further once the big name modders start getting involved /drool
  13. Original Fallout 3 Vanilla ended as well. That is until a DLC was released to continue the story alongside other mods like FWE which allowed players to continue endlessly .... I suspect in time New Vegas will benefit as well ....
  14. If you loved Fallout 3, New Vegas is a must have. The main change I like already is the new faction system.
  15. hehe not many first impressions yet since most who were lucky to get the game early are busy playing it like moi. However as I take a small break and browse these forums I will say that I love the new soundtracks, particularly the juke boxes. Playing vanilla New Vegas in hardcore mode. I guess your companions face perma death in hardcore mode, ouch! I will have to be extra careful.
  16. Never did a pre order. Called my local gamestop and asked if they had copies of Fallout New Vegas, they stated yes, flew over there and grabbed me a copy! They had 2 copies for regular retail sales, rest were on hold for pre orders. Can't wait to head home in a few hours and play!
  17. I was running Fallout 3 real good for the past month. Had FWE, Amy Wong, CASM and RTS going. During this time never changed hardware, different mods yada yada. Just finished playing last night saved and quit. I tried to resume my play session today and am crashing seconds into my save. Since I have CASM decided to try a different save slot and they all crashing. Fallout 3 is just a buggy piece of code, it is what it is.
  18. I am glad I found this thread via google. For the longest was wondering what the fawk that persistent annoying sound was anytime a npc shot a flamer. In addition one of my plasma rifles would not shoot at all. Would go thru the animation but nada, no damage visual, sound nothing. Turned out for both these instances it was due to EVE. Deleted and reinstalled EVE and is back to normal.
  19. So I finally bought a horse in Oblivion. And boy what a disappointment! The controls are so horrible that I am just letting him graze in the stables and is merely eye candy. Anyone recommend any mods that improve rider control?
  20. Where can I get this armor mod? It's a pic from the CM companion Reena Mod. The author has not replied to messages for a long time so assume he is inactive.. Thanks guys http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a437/soot00/ReenaOblivion.jpg?t=1272259994
  21. People do it as a hobby. no different then people who devote tons of time going to trade shows to collect baseball cards, coin collection etc. Thank goodness we have these fine people willing to devote their time to make our game experience better.
  22. When I am inside a city and open up the map all the player gets is a bunch of graphic building markers and one must place the mouse cursor over each and every one to see the the description of the building (mage guild, weapons, inn, etc.) Is there a mod available that shows all the default names to show all? thanks guys
  23. Ugh, 70% of faces and hair additions are Morrigan tweaks :verymad: Anyone have a good Elf MAGE Face to share? I like the concept of this one ... Darthmael pic at the very bottom. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=185 Thanks guys
