  1. If someone creates it on their own, without having seen the code of the original mod, that should be fine, which is what the original poster was saying.
  2. Vilja does it naturally in Skyrim, so it'd be disappointing if for some reason it can't/won't be done in Fallout 4. I'm pretty sure that the original modder doesn't have total ownership of the idea of side-by-side walking.
  3. This is a minor nitpick, but has anyone ever wished they could name their own flora and fauna as it's discovered/caught/scanned? How do we know, for instance, that something is a "gary fish" or the dozens of other odd animal names? Are all of these fish and their names already common knowledge to space travelers? The scan info doesn't seem to indicate this.
  4. Yeah, I saw that, but it specifically says not to download it with the expectation that it will work, unfortunately.
  5. So if someone tries to run New California and TTW together, apparently they're "not compatible." But the specifics are kind of hard to nail down. Are we talking about a crash to desktop, an apocalyptic event that summons Cthulhu, some minor bugs, duplicate weapons, or whatever? I haven't seen anything about the specifics. Some bugs I can handle, some, obviously, would be game-breaking, but there's nothing about the specifics from what I can see. Someone surely has tried it, nonetheless. :)
  6. Wow, you're right, I just did a search for that mod and nothing came up. I'm glad I have a downloaded copy on my game. That was an important mod, does anyone have any news as to what or will happen?
  7. Numerous fallout games at least hint at things like super-powers. The degree of how "proven" they are is up for debate but the hinting has been there all along, leaving it up to the player to decide whether or not to be a skeptic. Mama Murphy being the most recent example, but it certainly goes back to the master or other psychics.
  8. I know there are many climate, green, season etc mods. But I'm wondering if there are any that allow, for instance, a greening of the commonwealth, and a frosty Maine. As far as I can tell, no.
  9. Possibly space invaders or asteroids on the atari 2600
  10. Ok, thanks... figured it was something so simple like that. :)
  11. I'm looking into how to make map markers revealed. I read the entries on it, and they describe how to switch them, but... not where to find the map markers in the geck. I've done a lot of clicking and clicking, but haven't actually been able to locate the map marker section, or whatever it is I'm looking for. Anyway, I've been thinking about how Nate and Nora were residents of the area, pre-war, and probably should know the locations of some pre-war locales or important sites. Unless, somehow, they never ever left Sanctuary Hills, which seems highly unlikely.
  12. "Rust in peace" rusts all of the cars. No nearly fresh paint anymore on 200 year old wrecks. But it doesn't modernize the cars.
  13. I personally would love it if the capital wasteland were simply a place to visit and adventure after new california, rather than a birthplace (it'd be nice of course to have both in full at once but it's impossible to work that out.) There are mods that gut the main dragon storyline out of skyrim, so maybe that's possible for fallout 3 as well. A sensible way to include both NC and F3 is not really possible unless one or the other's beginning sequence/plot are changed or gutted. I'm not so in love with the f3 storyline that I wouldn't be willing to give it up for the chance to simply have one more huge wordspace in the east to explore alongside everything else. The idea certainly isn't for everyone, but of course they're free to simply not use it, should it ever pop up.
  14. I seem to be limited to 174 esps in fallout 4 all of a sudden. Both mod organizer and wrye bash indicate that the last esp is definitely #177. Any more and it doesn't work; wrye bash dings and reports "Trying to add mods beyond the 255 limit." It's absolutely not at 255, definitely at 174 esps. Has anyone seen this happen before? Man I really hope a recent update didn't mess up the mod limit like with New Vegas not being able to reach 255. Yeah, yeah, I know, I can use esl and merges, but still I'm wondering what's going on. I used to be able to get much higher.
  15. Is it possible to make some terminals use one color, and other terminals use a different color? As far as I can tell, they all default to the same-colored text.
  16. I liked Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, but this possible move with Ciri seems almost like it's being done specifically to drum up controversy. If Dandelion had darker skin, it wouldn't matter asmuch, I think.
  17. So, if I wanted to put together a mod so that the NCR could demonstrate the ability to make new construction that was not a shanty town, is there a mod I'd use? Most of the architecture resources in game are damaged/ruins, very old, or otherwise not exactly new construction in the old-world style. Thanks
  18. Could Skyrim (or Fallout I suppose) ever be able to create random dungeons? Or is it absolutely beyond the capability of the engine even with patches and script enhancers? I see the lack of random dungeon layouts being the biggest obstacle to having a genuine old-school rogue-like as a skyrim mod setting. I'd be very curious to try it if it existed.
  19. There are a few car and mount mods for New Vegas. It got me wondering if such things could be adapted to make power armor more of a vehicle almost, to come closer to the fallout 4 power armor. I liked that it felt like more than just stronger combat armor, but more like a thing to inhabit, enter, and almost "Drive" through the commonwealth.
  20. Thanks. I already have g2m but haven't explored it thoroughly.
  21. So if I have a pond or a swimming pool, are there any mods that would let me put fish in it? I don't mean dead fish either, although that might be funny and more lore-appropriate for a post-apocalyptic pool.
  22. AFT does quite a lot of things going beyond what I had originally gotten it for.
  23. It doesn't have much to do with survival, but sim settlements is interesting, especially with all of the addons and expansions. If you don't want to be bothered with settlements, you can just assign mayors to the settlements and have them take care of it for you. Then you can go off and concentrate on actual survival rather than collecting junk for building.
  24. Perhaps the mod is being overwritten by another mod that specifically affects only the soldiers?
  25. I personally use Horizon, although if you can't handle that it's incompatible with many, many other mods (without an additional patch) then I get it. But as for the ultimate difficult (resource-scarce) survival experience, that's the one, in my opinion. There's also a mod that makes cigarettes and cigars smokable (and they save the game when you use them.) I use that in conjunction with Horizon as an additional means of saving. I also use Conquest, which lets you build settlements in unconventional places. Sometimes I put one down simply because I want my own house/base there to sleep and stay. I built a settlement with conquest once just for the bed and to build a bridge across an inconvenient river. Food, clean water, and ammo become pretty rare. Starvation is actually a concern. Having a melee weapon is almost a must, to save ammo.
