  1. Illegal looting has suddenly stopped working for some reason. I noticed first as I made it to Skingrad. Well, it works for people, but no longer illegal to loot farm property and city containers. This is really strange considering I haven't changed my load order, any advice? Also, what's the easiest way to copy my load order and post it here? Or do I have to write down all the mods?
  2. Well, I don't. That's the problem. I thought it could be the Franscesco's Levelled Guards causing it, but have tried playing without it with no effect. Anyways, this is a small problem, I've gotten over it. Thanks for your willing to help though.
  3. Hi, quick question, hopefully fairly easy to solve; My imperial city jailor NPC don't have the "Visit a prisoner" topic in his dialogue. Every other jailor seems to work fine; wrye bash and bashed patch installed etc, any advice on how to proceed to find out what's wrong?

Greetings, not sure if this is a bug or intended, but M'jaar-Dar, the Khajit trader in the Dark Brotherhood, is for some reason no longer selling "The Hands of Midnight", and some other of his unique items that he normally sells. As I said, I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended. If it's intended I'd prefer it if you do not spoil anything in the DB storyline, thank you. These gloves would be quite the asset to my hand-to-hand specialized assassin; I could not afford them at the start and now he simply wont sell them anymore.

I'd do it myself, but I turns out my photoshop skills were a tad bit more rusty than I had anticipated. :/
  7. I have tried manually editing the amounts fenced required to advance in the Thieves' Guild, but it seems to have no effect. Eventhough I have changed the script, the game still seem to go by the standard amounts required. I'm not sure what's wrong, but my script looks identical to the vanilla one except for the fenced amounts; there are other mods out there whom increase the fenced amounts but this doesn't seem to work at all. EDIT I've solved it! Turns out, it was necessary to also change the amount in the actual dialogue for the quest.
  8. Sadly it's not just one save, it's all of them. Since I've had problems with my memory causing crashes on this computer (fixed it a week ago or so), I have gotten into the habit of saving often, in multiple slots. Thus, all of my ~20 saves are close to eachother, and all of them have the "bad" quest - I did not think it was bugged until it was too late since my last char wasn't even in the Thieves' Guild and I had forgotten all about the Independent Thievery quest. >< But ofc I am not expecting anyone to build me a mod; I'm just looking for advice, see if I can't fix it myself as you mentioned. I'm not sure what exacly you mean by "coding"; I have manually edited the quest and the quest script, if that's what you mean. Problem is the stages seem to have already triggered, as you said before, and I can't get back to the previous stages. I am guessing I am having this problem because I fenced some goods to Mannheim Maulhand (One of the few non-TG npcs that accepts stolen goods), so when I then joined TG (Thieves' Guild), I had already reached the appropriate stages. I have investigated it abit and it seems like it is only first 2 quests which remain completed; everything from Adharjis Heirloom and later seem to require me to fence goods, as intended. I guess I can live with that, however it's not fun that I can so easily accept and advance so fast in the beginning. This might just work! It's definately worth a shot. The globals seem to only concern the conditions when it comes to killing someone on the job (which is forbidden) etc, so I don't think it should be a problem. I'm gonna try this out etc but thank you both for your earnest advice. Oblivion is an extraordinary game, IF you can get everything to work, that is. ;) The TESnexus has helped me get back on track several times now, so thanks for your help. Kudos. Hmm, I guess I also need to reset the amount fenced, if that's even possible. The only thing that searching turned up was to use the "SetSoldStolenAmount" integrer, but that doesn't work for me. I'm not even sure if it's a valid command.
  9. Please help, I'm at my wits' end here. I don't care about the first quest, I just need to get the independant thievery quest back into working order. Right now, I can do all commision jobs without fencing anything; the quest doesn't even update itself. I have no idea what's wrong; all I changed was the amounts required. I will not abandon a character I have spent 70+ hours on because of ONE quest isn't working. There has to be some way to get it in sync with the TG quests again. :(

I've already spent well over 70 hours playing this character , so starting again is not an option. :P Very foolish of me to just forget about the mod. >< But what's done is done and there has to be a way to get the Independent Thievery quest working again (i.e. so that the game start recognizing the stolen amounts of goods, because right now it just skips them saying immediately "I have reached my goal. I have fenced over 10000 worth of goods-" bla bla even though I haven't sold anything!).
  11. Greets. I'm wondering if it's possible to remove active quests in order to restart them? I have this mod called "Higher Thieves' Guild fences" which increases the amounts needed in the Independent Thievery quests. Problem is, I manually edited the records and now the game just skipped the quest. I didn't understand until after I had accepted the second TG quest "Untaxing the Poor", and now I can do all commission jobs without even fencing anything! So, I want to remove/restart this quest so I can get the independent Thievery quest working again before I start on the TG storyline.
  12. Ah, to each his own, I guess. What is gamebreaking for me might not be for you; I know many people aren't so picky when it comes to names, but for me, sure, I could probably play with it like that for awhile but everytime I'd see it I'd become increasingly annoyed with it to the point where I'd have to try and fix it. Ah, thank you Harvald, and Fore, the problem has now been corrected. :) Merry chrismas to you all. :)
  13. Ah, indeed! I came to the same conclusion after deactiviting mods last night, thanks nonetheless though! It damn well matters; having districts named in german when they are supposed to be named in english completely breaks the immersion for me. I would be completely appalled if I had to play through Oblivion in Swedish (My langauge) because it would be so awkward and malplaced.
  14. Right, for some reason, one of my mods has renamed the IC market district in german (I think); I have no idea which one and prefer not to have to go through them all to find out. So is there any easy way to just change the name back to english?
  15. Well, yes, that's more or less why I quit using OOO. :P It's a decent mod and many things are good with it; but it tends to create even more loot though meaning it's even easier to get rich than vanilla. :P The mod I disabled was adding new CREATURES, not items. ;)
  16. Hmm, I seem to have isolated the problem; it's the Franscesco's New Creatures mod that causes it - I exited fine when I disabled it. I have enabled again, but I will disable it if it keeps crashing me whenever I try to enter a new worldspace. Anyways, try to that, worked for me. :P
  17. OOO has it's own levelling system; have you disabled that? Otherwise I'd imagine you'd get double skill increases/attributes etc. I'm not an expert, but, I'd advice you to use the built-in levelling system in OOO instead. Good luck.
  18. As the topic says. Would like to know what could be the problem here; the tutorial went fine, no crashes, nothing, but the game crashes EVERY time I try to exit the sewers. I'm running a custom script that makes the game recognize my L2 elf as a Wood Elf - could that be the cause? I.e. incase I have done something wrong adding the script there.   19. You need a quest that starts with the game and a quest script. The script would be like: scriptname 'Whateveryouwant' begin GameMode SetRaceAlias (Custom Race) (Vanilla Race) end I don't know if there's better way. As I said, XEO uses such script, so I suggest you to check it. Hum, alright. Thanks again.

  22. Is there an easy way to, for example, make NPCs treat my Lineage Elf as a Wood Elf? I.e. getting the greeting "Hail, Wood Elf" and the elf-specific dialouge in combat, etc?
  23. The console version probably runs better NOW. Just wait abit for something like OSR to come for Skyrim, along with new patches, etc etc and I'm sure it'll be fine. I knew this would happen; people getting the game straight from release then getting disappointed of how buggy it is, the lack of quality mods etc. It's why I decided to wait and stick with Oblivion for now. :) Here's a funny imagine of my WoW arena buddy: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/815/skyyyrim.jpg[/img] Read the chat. xD Aye, but there is very little roleplaying in Oblivion aswell. Imo they did a much better job with it in Morrowind; offering lots of different ways to finish quests and rewarding breaking off the course, etc. If there is one thing I disliked about Oblivion, it's how linear everything is. All the guild storylines, the main storyline - pretty much everything - wont ever let you sidestep. Even if you're an evil assassin you still have to help the goody-two-shoes characters, because most of the time there's no other option, or at least, no point in trying out that other option. But Oblivion, as a whole, is a much better game than Morrowind was, imo, and I hope Skyrim is even better. :)

Yes, I have searched for tanlines, the most promiment one seems to be: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23658 Indeed, I can run this and at the same have the oiled effect from Ozmo's. Problem is I'd also like to have a tattoo or two, and to add those I need to edit the other map which then removes the tanlines. See the video I posted for and idea of what I'm looking for - Basically I'd need a skin texture with both tanlines AND a tattoo and then use ozmo's highrez for the normal map. Mr Flinging Feces' skin texture seem to only be available for chocolate elves atm. (?) Apologies for late reply, new WoW arena season, quite busy. :P
