  1. Noone has a clue what I'm talking about here? Are you perhaps running FCOM instead? I'd really appreciate some answers from OOO users, current and old, as I have no idea where else to ask this.
  2. Thank you again, indeed it was so. Tried running without OOO and the sound for the clutter items is working. As I reactivated OOO, I noticed that the icon was red (not blue as normal), indicating conflicts. So I told it to warn me about any file conflicts, and indeed it did, the conflict was with EvE Stock Armor Replacer for armor meshes, I believe. I got the "blabla.nif is the same and CRC's do not match. Overwrite?" message, or however it goes, and so I did overwrite them. However that shouldn't really affect the random clutter items, since EvE only concerns armor? Could be there was not only EvE who was conflicting, but I have tried running OOO without any other mods and the sound is still missing. I have checked and the sound files appear to have been installed correctly. EDIT On an unrelated note, BOSS told me to get OMOBS if using OOO. From what I gleaned in the readme, OOO's combat system is already fairly close to OMOBS and that mod shouldn't be required?
  3. Oblivion wouldn't run at all after disabling OOO. All I got was the black window appearing, then disappearing again and nothing else happening. Reactivating OOO made Oblivion run again... I am starting to consider a full unistallation and reinstallation. :P
  4. Hey everyone, I've been using this mod now for awhile and have run into some wierd stuff. Having never played OOO before, I am almost bursting with questions, but haven't really found any good place to ask them. I have searched on the forums here and I can't find any similar threads, so I was kind of hoping this could become a thread for general discussion in regards to OOO. So if you have any questions of your own, please ask them! Anyways, firstly, it says that OOO aims to make the Oblivion world much more static, but I seem to keep running into levelled content. The Mauraders in Fort Strand seemed even tougher when I tried to take them on at level 7 compared to level 4, and the Warlord was a complete nightmare that I only managed to beat through sheer luck and use of my greater powers. They also seemed to have gained new, shiny dwemer equipment (although not much, a sword here and there mostly). I also keep running into bandits/mauraders on roads; and although the bandits seem fairly week, the mauraders almost always seem stronger than me. I'm wondering if this is intended or if I have some rogue mod or something that messes with the levelled lists; naturally I'm worried that they'll all be sporting full Ebony armor at level 20. :P Also, related to my first question, how does OOO handle Oblivion Gates? I just finished the Battle for Kvatch-questline and the monsters I encountered seemed to be levelled; I am now level 10 and ran into Seducers, Dremora Kynvals, and some Scamps and Hungers whereas at level 2 (just wanted to see how tough it was) I only ran into Hellhounds, Stunted Scamps and Clannfear Runts. Does that mean that all the daedric enemies in the game will also be levelled? Otherwise, there is no way to tell the strength of the enemies within Oblivion Gates, is there? It pretty much means you have to jump in and scout out the residents before making an attempt at closing a Gate? So mainly, the feeling I get is that the world isn't as static as was advertised. Maybe it's just me, or maybe I have some mod conflict - I don't know. I have more questions, but honestly I have forgotten what they were right now as those two were the most burning ones. :P Well, hopefully someone can answer this for me, and if you have any other questions, please post them. Thank you for reading. :)
  5. Hey guys, not sure where to put this question...didn't feel like starting a new thread just for this; Is there any general, combined thread around here where people are free to discuss anything regarding Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul? I have a bunch of questions I'd like to ask, but can't seem to find a good place to ask them... I was thinking about creating such a thread if there isn't one. I know there is the comments section on the file itself, however, I feel that it's inadequate and not particularly active. Best regards.
  6. I'm quite sure that the BOSS team, who are expert at ordering mods by the way, would like to know about these rogue ones. Which mods are you referring to? Hmm let's see. Apachii, SexDarkness, Eroblivion, and the CTaddpose mods. Hmm, maybe they wont interfere with OOO, but I'd still load them before - to be safe. It also placed MapMarkerOverhaul before OOO, again, not sure, but I was given the advice to load it after OOO. Still no solution to my sound problem. I am beginning to think this might not be caused by OOO after all. Maybe reinstalling Oblivion would help, but I'm not sure if that would mess up my saves - installing everything again, that is. Hmm, would it be safe to disable OOO to check if the sound issue persists and then reactivate it again?
  7. Downloaded BOSS and ran it. Did not fix the sound issue, and it did some strange things like ordering certain mods AFTER OOO which I know should be run before it. Oh well.
  8. I did indeed install the 1.33 OMOD v, haven't touched anything else nor did the readme mention I needed to install 1.32 so I guess it's correct. Thanks again for you help, I really appreciate it. If I could give additional kudos, i would. :) Now to get BOSS and see if reordering fixes my sound issue and if so all should be fine (knock on wood...). :P
  9. Oh god, no wonder nothing is working then. -.- Thank you for the help, but I need to ask one more question. I'm now beginning to doubt wether I've installed OOO correctly in the first place. I downloaded the omod-ready archive for 1.33 and installed that with OBMM. But now I've seen people talk about needing v 1.32 aswell? I'm so sick of this... Could someone quickly go over the correct installation procedure for OOO?
  10. I've noticed that when I check my loadorder with OBMM it's correct, however if I open up the launcher and check with the vanilla mod manager the mods are not as I've ordered them. Is that normal? Also, is there some type of gathered thread or forum specifically for OOO discussion?
  11. Hmm, okay. Thanks a lot for the answers guys. I will need to finecomb my load order...then report back what I've found. :) UPDATE No, none of my mods seem to conflict. :| I have tried playing with only OOO installed, and same problem. It's mainly the random clutter items; vases, goblets, pelts, skins etc. I do get the correct sound if I drop it on the floor, but there is no sound for picking these items up or selling them. As I said it may seem like a minor issue, but it's annoying me. :P Also, is there some type of gathered thread for discussion regarding OOO?
  12. In all honesty I'm loathe to play the game vanilla before modding. I did with Oblivion, and now, seeing all the mods, the overhauls, etc, I wish that I hadn't. Because that's ~200 hours "wasted" on a game that could have been much better. For me. One of the core attractions of TES is that you can customize it via mods, imo. Though I haven't managed to get anything major spoiled in Oblivion (And I still haven't completed the main quest!), I believe it is prudent for the uploader of mods to mark it for spoilers, minor or major, if they do indeed exist. :) EDIT Oh and when Skyrim comes I will definately wait until some great mods have been released before I play it. ^^ See, I want people's opinions "how is the levelling system?", "Is the game too easy?" etc before I play it myself, and so that I can get a hunch of what changes I'd like. However I do see the merit of playing before modding; it's simply something not everyone may want to do however. :)
  13. Does noone play OOO anymore? ;P Or am I the only one getting these wierd bugs?
  14. I had this problem aswell, but I have never been to SI...restarting the computer helped in my case which is wierd. ;P
  15. Hello, I just have a small issue regarding OOO - it seems that most of the random clutter items no longer make any sound when picked up/dropped/sold etc.. Not a big deal really, I'm just wondering if this is normal for OOO or not? It affects all items, new and old, from Welkynd Stones to Golden Dinnerware.
  16. Anyone have any idea or suggestion? I have been over the readme again and no mention of enemy respawn rates... UPDATE I have loaded the additonal esp "respawn - one week" after OOO. Though I'd prefer to have the normal, 3-day respawn rates, this seems to be working...I will revisit the aforementioned Fort in a few days and see if there are any respawns. I still have not found a way to fix Norbert Lelles, however. Seems I will just have to not use this merchant.
  17. Just got a little breather after an epic battle with 3 Mauraders that I barely managed to kill. However almost right after, I was attacked by an identical maurader - she looked just like the one I had recently fought. So, I reloaded, ran out, sold off my loot and came back - only to find that the battlemage I had defeated had also respawned!! Is this normal? Is there a way to change it? Also, when I came back to Anvil the merchant, Norbent Lelles, wouldn't do buisness with me - his trade icon has disappeared alltogheter: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4071/screenshot1048.png[/img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  18. Greetings, I ran into an NPC in Chorrol (Viranus Donton) whom seems to be missing animations for his speech. This is the only NPC where I have seen this problem, and I actually have never met him before so I cannot really say if this is caused by a mod or if the bug existed before. The UESP mentions no known bugs for him...I wouldn't really know how to fix this.
  19. Greetings, I am playing a lawful character and am trying to keep a clean record (i.e. no crimes at all), but I noticed that I somehow have managed to gain 1 assault. I'm not really sure how or when it happened as I'm not using any sneak or stealth tactics - most likely I hit a vampire with a fireball before it had detected me. Regardless, I'd really like to have a clean record, but am not that keen on loading an old save and losing several hours of gameplay.. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way or a command that can be used to reset stats on the statistics page?
  20. That's the sort of thing I'm worried about, eventhough my own intuition and, by the looks of it, most people say it should be fine. :P I have a feeling your incident stemmed from loading a custom race that, for some reason, didn't work that well. :3 I have used these commands before on previous characters without anything bad happening, but you can't really tell. I'm worried that if I play along with the change and then, like, 100+ hours into the game I discover something's messed up. :P As for the racemenu, if you do it right (create a save then load it), I suppose nothing should happen since the change will only be aesthetic and will only affect your own character. I suppose the same is true for the classmenu, except I'm not sure how/if a large mod that altered skill settings (like OOO) would respond to it. Ahhh well, most likely I just worry too much. Thanks guys. :)
  21. Why is sex collectively viewed as something dirty? I find it ironic that the OP feels offended by skimpy clothing, but not by mods like Deadly Reflex where people chop eachothers heads off left right center with blood spurts all over the screen. :P
  22. Greetings, I have a fairly simple question. Recently I started playing a new character with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (And other miscellanous mods), and, as usual, I messed her up. :P So I was thinking about using the console (the showclassmenu and showracemenu commands in particular) to change some of her skills. However it suddenly struck me that I have no idea if that would have any negative impact on the game. So my question is simply if these (and similar) console commands are safe to use. :P
  23. Roger wilco. I will follow your approach and place MMO after. Thank you! :)
