  1. As I've had the game since Indev, mods like Tekkit make me cringe, so bad :P *Turns into grumpy old man complaining about how Minecraft was better before the different shades of green* :P
  2. That sounds like a good idea. I don't actually play much single player anymore, nor do I actually use any mods that alter multiplayer either. In my bookmarks folder I have subfolders that are titled Visual, Tools, Survival and Outdated. They're probably self explanatory. The only mod I have that I use during multiplayer is mcpatcher/optifine(If you class them as mods during multiplayer just for adding HD textures) and Reis Minimap. I'd use ingame maps but they're so buggy and broken I can't utilise them at all. Also the waypoints feature is nice to mark down landmarks or interesting ideas. As for single player. I just use none intrusive mods such as Better Enchanting(No more random enchantments), Customizable Inventory(Smaller/larger inventory, I make it 1-2 rows of inventory so it's very smaller), Backpack mod(Adds a little more realism to having a smaller inventory) and other handy mods. For example: Useful Seeds (Thanks to mc_crab who linked me this) [1.2.5] Useful Seeds! - Minecraft Forum Gives seeds lots of awesome uses that aren't overly stupid :D Would be nice to be able to share all of this with other players properly on the Nexus instead of swamping our poor Server topic :P
  3. *Throws fae-... Cake at you*
  4. The only mod that comes to mind was a pigman mod, it changed villagers to pigmen (What villagers were supposed to be) and gave the villagers jobs. Also gave them better AI with the ability to talk to them. However it wasn't updated since 1.8 or 1.0.0 :/ So I deleted it, doubt it was what you're thinking about though.
  5. I definitely agree with you there, They're awful places to actually find mods. I never once said that they're any good, just that they're the largest communities and is where most players are. You can go through pages upon pages of mods and then you have to check through them all again for the sake of browsing just because some of the ones you haven't seen yet got a reply so they're bumped to the top. Also another point I forgot to add... Updates. Yes, those lovely things that break practically all of the mods that are posted here. Can you imagine the mess the nexus would become each time an update comes out? "Such and such a mod doesn't work with 1.3.7! UPDATE NOW!" That plus the fact that some modders won't update due to leaving the scene, that will leave a lot of dead pages. It's not so bad with other games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim because the mods will still work regardless. I think I'm getting a headache http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  6. Aye, Dark0ne has been through this on more than one occasion. Back when Minecraft was in it's infancy, me and many others requested for one. (This was before Minecraftforums was the largest place to go to and there wasn't really a dedicated place to post any content for it). Because the game was buggy at the time, it was decided that the game just isn't ready. That and it was lacking an SDK or Mod API. Then the Minecraftforums boomed, the game boomed and basically everyone that knows about Minecraft has played it. The largest communities are Minecraftforums and PlanetMinecraft. Both cater for everything Minecraft, from maps, to texture packs and even mods. The community shuns other websites dedicated to Minecraft basically because they see no need for it. It wouldn't really benefit anyone, especially not Dark0ne who would be the one putting money into setting it up. As nice as it would be under different circumstances, I definitely wouldn't welcome it now. And I'm one of the admin's to the Unofficial Nexus Minecraft Server (Been active over a year and a half!) I'm with Lostone and Hector on this one. and I definitely mirror what Lostone said. I haven't posted this to ruin your day at all, because I actually would like to see it
  7. Awesome so they're using the same models and textures for Fallout 4 too. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/armscrossed.gif
  8. Seems I caught you lurking on my profile yesterday ;) heh
  9. Fallout 4 http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/armscrossed.gif
  10. Mod Spotlight of the day. Some of you guys might actually like this one. I present: Decoratives Mod! Most notable features: - Chairs that you can sit on! (Both normal and chairs with arms) - Tables! (They can be tiled so you can make desks too!) - Stained Glass (Yes! What glass SHOULD be in Minecraft, also comes in a variety of different colours) - Carpet! (No longer replace a block and see it in your ceiling downstairs, just put carpet on your floor! (Or stairs!)) - And more stuff that doesn't really excite me :P
  11. That is correct. It is my opinion and observation only and does not reflect anyone elses judgement. I've been playing minecraft for over 2 years now. I know the community it serves. I never once said that it should be a basis on whether it should be a nexus site or not. There will not be a Minecraft Nexus. Dark0ne even confirmed it just before and last year when we asked then.
  12. Sure come on in :) The IP is in the topic description. :)
  13. Haha. This topic takes me back eh? Who can remember the first time we all were together talking about this? As such my stance remains the same as always. I agree with everyone here that a Minecraft nexus would be a positive thing and I'd welcome it with more than open arms (I'd have open eyes, mouth, hands and a cake in the corner) BUT There's just a slight problem with the community that we would be taking under our wing. The average Minecraft player has the maturity of a typical xboxlive player :P Not to mention the HUGE amounts of those who actually haven't bought the game, Like the moderators of this site actually want a whole new influx of kids to deal with :P Also their attitude to any other sites besides Minecraftforums and PlanetMinecraft is basically the same attitude we at the nexus face towards sites that attempt the same thing the nexus has. (Thieving morons of Gmod anyone? and other small websites that were actually legit too that we never really used?) It would be a pretty big gamble to take Minecraft under the wing of the Nexus. While the community already here would enjoy it, it's getting more users who actually don't know about the nexus to come here. Also the Nexus already has a Minecraft Server (http://www-cdn.jtvnw.net/images/emoticons/josh.gifInsert TwitchTV Kappa emoticon here) I present to you, the Unofficial TESNexus Minecraft Server. She's been part of our community for over a year and a half now. Since the glory days of Alpha. Please check her out sometime if you fancy it. The Topic here on the nexus has 2,087 replies and a whopping 53,638 views.
  14. Have no fear for the KDS is here http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/armscrossed.gif Bukkit decided to update and try launching the old plugins. But DrGrimm fixed it right up ^_^ Server is back Online. With Bukkit I might add http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif Map generator might be bugged. Had to restart the server because of it. I'm working on a backup of the map right now... Just incase the silverfish really hits the grinder.] So if the map does need to be reset, be safe in the knowledge that I might have saved your place for you to download
  15. A little heads up. 10,000 potentially compromised accounts. From where? By who? Who knows? :P Just found it on Reddit, better to be safe than sorry. Find the list here Already checked for my accounts and they're safe.
  16. War... War never changes. Games... Games always change. A fantastic game. The Fallout universe is one of the most beautiful ever created. Just try it, try it now. It's free. You have NO reason not to get it (unless you already have it) *hums and wanders back into the abyss*
  17. As in inside the model? No idea. All I know is that statics cannot take scripts using the usual method. Swapping them with activators has done the trick though, no one will see the difference.
  18. Fallout10mm.... What on earth did I just read? Hahahahha. That was hilarious. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/facepalm.gifhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gifhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/tongue.gif MOAR!
  19. I thought about that, but then I realised a problem. I'm not the best as drawing isometric textures. Even then I don't even know if the game can handle higher resolution textures natively without mods. I think I'll just leave it to someone else :P Nope nothing is there in that image :P Ah well. At least they show up now. The pack looks really good so far! Grass could do with tiling a little better as all the other textures seem to tile :P It's very different to what I've seen in other packs that's for certain.
  20. Yeah they are beastly, well except my "HD Realistic"... The most popular yet the most trash and people seem to like it more. Strange people :P Psst. You didn't show your pack :P
  21. I was certain that would work. Sadly. No :/ The LOD still shows itself above the new activator trees and is still there upon removing the tree :/ Even with a new esp that removes the Has LOD Tag. Edit: Heh, I'm just going to remove the tree LOD image file instead and replace it with full transparency. Should work :P Edit2:Heh Worked like a charm >.> Just hope someone can come up with a better solution. I'd quite like the LOD to stay :/ This is just a temp fix.
  22. Yeah I understand now. I actually remember this happening back when I first started using the GECK. I removed a bunch of trees and continued to build a lovely base for a bit of roleplaying. Sadly I had to scrap it due to this exact problem. It was so long ago I actually forgot about it. Do you perhaps know how I may go about fixing this issue? They seem to be a 2D image file so far, would the easiest fix be to simply draw over the textures for the LOD? If so, which one? It's been a while and I'm very rusty :P I'd rather lose all tree LOD than to increase the file size in removing it all. Unless the fix doesn't increase the size then I'm all ears, eyes, nose and face (pressed against the tv).
  23. Actually I haven't...Well kinda... I seem to have goofed up something in my main esp. I'll fix it later though. (Probably made a noob error and changed something I shouldn't) I quickly threw up an esp, swapped the world trees over with activators and threw a script onto the activators. It works fine, almost perfectly. Everything is exactly the way I wanted it to be. I can grab an axe, chop at a tree and it will disappear and give me some planks (I'm working on changing this to logs instead. Just want to work this out first. It's a WIP) However. I believe I misjudged Quetzlsacatanango's question earlier. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/unsure.gif Whether he foresaw this or not I don't know but he was right about one thing. There's a very nasty LOD problem. Can anyone help me with it? Okay so all trees are now activators, the activators all have a quick script I threw up. Problem now is that LOD remains... For some reason it's there. I don't know why. Here's a screenshot of the problem. All trees on left have been removed... http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/1002/screenshot49iv.jpg
  24. My view of this is "Stuff the LOD" It's a pain for people who make custom worldspaces and it'll be an even bigger pain for this if people are going to chop down the trees. Not worth the time and probably not worth the effort either. Let's not forget about such mods like RTS, Wasteland Defence and PortableCampStuff, you can build things, but that won't generate LOD for it. This is the same principle, only the opposite. However, there's not much I can do about it unless anyone has an idea about it. Anyway. I managed to swap all the trees with activators. Problem now is that the game refuses to open with the mod activated. Think I'm going to have to approach this from a different angle, test this with fresh esp's. If however the problem is with the game and I can't change all the trees to activators without the game crashing. I may need to think of new ways to acquire lumber. Playing Skyrim has given me an idea of a chopping block, but I'd rather avoid something like that. Bit unrealistic for my liking.
  25. Oooh I remember that working a few times for other types. I'll be certain to give it a try! But after trying rjhelms idea first. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I had completely forgot about that feature! Thanks for reminding me. I'll be certain to try it out, although I cannot predict how it could affect the GECK and the system stability of it. There are tens of thousands of trees in the world. Heh.
