  1. Could someone make a mod that simply runs every few seconds and automatically removes all torches from all currently loaded NPCs? SKSE dependency is fine with me if it's necessary. Please and thank you.
  2. In response to post #62039007. Seconding Authy. I already use that for several other accounts. I kept getting that recaptcha thing over and over and over for the last several days and it was extremely annoying. I hope whatever was causing that has been tweaked now.
  3. What I'd like, assuming this is even possible, is a way to skip past the main quests in Skellige that involve speaking to Yennefer. If Yennefer is involved, I want to skip past to the nearest point where Yennefer is no longer involved. If this were Skyrim, I'd simply add a dialogue option to every interaction with her that progresses the quest to a stage where speaking to her is no longer necessary. I'd be done in less than an hour. I've looked at the modding tool for Witcher 3 and I'm just baffled at how you're supposed to use this thing. I'm going to try to learn how to use it, but it looks extremely user-unfriendly. The GECK, it is not. Or, if it happens that there's a way to set quest stages from the console, I'd be very happy just doing that. Whatever lets me skip interacting with Yennefer and continue playing the game.
  4. Many of those mods conflict. You ought to use Wyre Bash to make a bashed patch to merge some of that stuff so they'll play nice. This is Skyrim Classic or SE? If Classic, try the Crash Fixes mod. This thing is like a miracle. If you use an ENB, you'll need to change a line in your enblocal.ini: ExpandSystemMemoryX64 Change from true to false.
  5. Yesterday I went on an update spree and now Skyrim (classic) is screwed up. When I launch Skyrim in Fullscreen with an ENB (319 binary), a) it takes 3x longer to get to the load file menu than with no ENB and b) it flickers very quickly between a perfectly rendered Skyrim and a black screen. If I set Skyrim to borderless window in enblocal, it works fine, but still takes longer to load up. I updated Windows 10 from ver 1511 to ver 1803 so I could get the bug fix for DirectX9 VRAM. I disabled the new Game Mode thing. Skyrim is not running in \program files\ (it's on an SSD separate from Windows). Steam Overlay is disabled. Happens whether Fraps is running or not. No other overlays that I know of. I tried reinstalling DirectX9 components from Microsoft in case the update deleted something, but no joy with that. I also updated my graphics driver yesterday (GeForce 10 series, 398.11), so that could also be the problem. I can't roll back for some reason, so I'd have to download a different driver if that's the problem. Before I go through all that, does anybody happen to know what's going on? Before all this updating, it was working perfectly and smooth as silk. Here's my enblocal. It's Rudy ENB, if that makes any difference.
  6. What version of Windows? Windows 8 has a bug that causes that with DirectX 9 applications. Windows 10 had the problem also until recently.
  7. Ooh, nice link. Thanks. Afraid it didn't help me figure out that line though. Is Lambert trying to irritate Yennefer with that or what the heck's he doing?
  8. First of all, Best Quest Ever Second, is there a site that lists all the possible dialogue options? I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the "Speaking of Novigrad and ploughing, how's Triss?" line. Every time I try to google it, all I find is a neverending list of Yen/Triss wars.
  9. Ugh. All of these suck. Napoleon on one side and Hitler on the other. Or watch one (sorta) friend betray and murder another (sorta) friend so it turns out okay. Too bad you can't knock off Radovid and Emyr both. Well, thanks for the info. Not sure which of these I want to do.
  10. What if I just refuse the quest? I only took it in the first place because I wanted to get rid of Radovid. Or is doing that quest necessary for a Nilfgaard defeat?
  11. I'm about to start a 2nd playthrough. Is there a way to manipulate the ending so that Nilfgaard loses the war? I did the quest with Djikstra and Roche to kill Radovid and thought that would do it, but then idiot Djikstra turned on Roche and I couldn't just stand there. Do I have to let him kill Roche to get a Nilfgaard-losing end? Do I need to refuse this quest? Or does Nilfgaard just always win no matter what?
  12. Is there a console command I can use to skip past the wedding in Heart of Stone and continue the HoS quests post-wedding?
  13. Sometimes while feeding as a vampire, your character becomes stuck and can no longer move or attack. After considerable time playing Fallout 4 and getting stuck trying to enter power armor, I realized that it's apparently the exact same bug, and the fix for it in Fallout 4 also works perfectly for this problem in Skyrim (and presumably Skryim SE). Open the console and type SetPlayerAIDriven 0 (zero, not "o") and suddenly you can move again. You're welcome.
  14. I've read on a couple dozen sites that it's supposedly possible to build an automatron in a Nuka World raider outpost, then assign it to a supply line to a regular settlement. All I'm getting when I try to assign an automatron to a supply line is a completely empty list of settlements, even though I have nearly a dozen settlements connected to each other. Are all those sites wrong or has my game gotten bugged?
  15. I think I found the problem. If you click on the app's icon instead of the on/off toggle, it opens a new window for advanced settings, something you'd never know unless you did it by accident. Nice UI work there, Microsoft. It looked like this at first, with all but the top toggle grayed out. I had reenable notifications in order to access the lower toggles to turn them all off (again, such nice UI work, Microsoft). I'm hoping this fixes it. I guess I'll find out next time my power blinks while I'm gaming.
  16. The app doesn't have a setting for turning off notifications, just one to mute the sound of them. What I need is a way to block unauthorized tampering with the list of apps allowed to show notifications. The behavior is malicious and I want to know how to block it.
  17. If being able to find and use mods is important, get Classic, not SE. There are 55K mods for Classic and only 9K for SE and many of the best will never be ported to SE. SE also currently has the infuriating problem that every time Bethesda releases a new horse armor that nobody wants, the script extender will break and you can't play until the one guy who still maintains it updates. The stability of SE vs Classic is basically a non-issue now, especially now that Microsoft has fixed the DirectX 9 bug. Use ENBoost (Most modern ENBs come with this enabled, or you can get it by itself) and the Crash Fixes plugin and be amazed at how infrequently Skyrim crashes. Most of the instability problems are related to memory, which ENB and Crash Fixes mostly eliminate.
  18. I don't know why Steam won't let move the game, but you can tell it where to install future games in Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders I installed an SSD and moved Steam and all games over to it and didn't have any problems with the games themselves or Steam. I did have serious problems with Nexus Mod Manager though. For whatever reason, it really dislikes not being on the same hard drive as the games it manages and I had a world of trouble getting it to work correctly afterward. It made a real mess of my Fallout 4 folder.
  19. I have a Cyberpower UPS with PowerPanel software installed to shut down my PC if the battery should run down during an outage. I've set Windows to turn off notifications from this software, but discovered it is tampering with the setting to turn the notifications back on every time I reboot the PC. Is there a way to disable this software's access to that setting? A registry tweak or something? This is Windows 10 Home, so no access to gpedit.
  20. I'm not sure in which of the many Fallout 4 categories to post this. Sorry if this is the wrong place. So, Beth released an unexpected update to Fallout 4 and it is breaking all the things. Here is some info to help avoid that (or any other) update for the time being, without having to fly the black flag. I hope this is useful and not too late for too many people. In your Steam library, set Fallout 4 to "update only when I launch" (Steam library > Fallout 4 Properties > Updates) Personally, I hate Steam, so I keep it offline when not using it for something. I also firewall it for good measure, because even in offline mode, it still misuses my network without permission to update itself. Never, ever, EVER launch the game from within Steam, or from the desktop shortcut that Steam creates. Never do that. Launch it from F4se or just make a shortcut to fallout4.exe if you don't use the script extender. Zip up your entire Fallout 4 folder and save it somewhere, just for situations like this. If Steam says there is an update required, but has not yet downloaded it... Immediately put Steam into Offline mod and then close it. Check the system tray to make certain it's not still running. Find the file appmanifest_377160.acf, which should be in the \Steam\Steamapps\ folder. Open it in a text editor. Look for this line: "StateFlags" "XX" where XX is a number. Change that number to "4". This tells it that the game is installed and is fully up-to-date, no update required. Look for these two lines and make sure the number is 0 in both: "BytesToDownload" "0" "BytesDownloaded" "0" When you're done, save it, close your text editor and set the file to Read-Only. You'll need to undo this if you ever decide to allow the update. Look in the \Steam\Steamapps\Downloading\ folder and if there are any files or folders with "377160" in the name, delete it immediately. You *should* be safe to play the game now, as long as you DO NOT EVER launch it from within Steam. To be extra safe, only ever launch the game while Steam is offline. If it already started downloading the update but didn't install it, this *might* work to halt the update and return it to a playable state, but I can't promise anything. EDIT Jan 19, 2019:: I've just noticed that, while Steam is online, this hack will not allow you to play the game. I don't know if that's a new development or if I just missed it. You will need to keep Steam offline in order to launch the game, at least through the Steam launcher. I don't know what would happen if you launched it through F4SE while online and don't really want to find out and possibly screw up my own game. While online, Steam will attempt to change your appmanifest file to show that an update is required, but it will fail to make the change as long as you remembered to set it Read-Only.
  21. I've been modding games since the days when publishers were stupid enough to send cease & desist letters to anyone hosting mods for their games. It's nice that they've mostly all stopped doing that and even give us official editor tools now, but we don't really need them to mod our games. Bethesda refused to release the Fallout 4 CK until well after their DLC started coming out and we modded it anyway. They attempted to disable those mods in their first patch and we circumvented that and kept modding it anyway. If they tried to put a stop to modding, there'd be 10 million new people flying the black flag almost immediately.
  22. That's a new feature of Firefox and Chrome to warn when inputting information on a page that's not fully encrypted. Sounds like Firefox isn't doing it particularly gracefully. Nexus isn't fully encrypted yet, but I think they're working to make that happen soonish.
  23. If you're a Hughesnet user, are you having Cloudflare constantly interrupting to demand you complete a captcha every few clicks? Turn off the "Turbo" mode in your modem and see if that helps.
  24. You're not blocking javascript in some way, are you? NoScript plugin or something?
  25. This is probably a false positive on my end, but NoScript is logging some kind of xss attempt while I'm browsing here. (Before anyone asks, Nexus is fully allowed to run scripts in NoScript) screenshot
