  1. The reason they are essential is that a HUGE quest with one of the greatest rewards in the game is dependent on some thives guild members. Maven is also essential because... I will not post spoilers, just play the damn game. And you CAN do independent thivery (selling stolen goods to normal shops), you need the Investor and Fence perks in Speech, plus 500 septims investment-works for any shopkeeper-.Last one works if you acualy play a thiev-merchant oriented character (not the almighty warrior/assassin/mage).
  2. I've finished the questline (becoming Thieves Guild Master) and feel like THIS is how a thieve shoud be, not the princesses in Morrowind and Oblivion. Larceny, stealing, incriminating and pickpocketing are NOT for the righteous. So just reply you don't want to break the law when first asked. (but you don't want that either cause it makes you look like a brainwashed guard)
  3. Chaotic Neutral Human Sorcerer/Rogue (2nd/2nd Level) http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/11.jpg http://www.wizards.com/magic/images/whatcolor_isblack.jpgTake the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
  4. It's not THAT bad. Linear true, repetitive...yes. I kinda like the fact that you aren't that noticed even after saving the world. I don't care that much about the graphics if it were a good game. I don't like how you people say that you have to have imagination to play it (if you have enough you can look at a piece of paper and be better than any game -don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Pen&Paper-).The sad part is that i was hopeing that Skyrim would be more like Morrowind (RPG oriented), infact it's more of an hack&slash dungeoning thing with a bit of twist in character development (wich would have been good for a MMORPG but in this case they shoul have focused more on the sorrounding's).
  5. 500+ hours played so far. luckly i'm on PC otherwise would have gone insane because of the bugs. One question : Why do most of the quests involve going in some dungeon/cave/ruin and retriev/kill something ? (thank god for the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood providing some entertainment). I mean...even the Bards College send you in some ruin to recover some missing song (what were the bards -usualy found singing and drinking in taverns, their sole purpose beeing the harrasmen of single feemales- doing inside the undead infested tomb of a dead emperor ?
  6. What grinds my gears is that Oblivion is not Morrowind.
  7. Khajiit (thieve-merchant)-lvl 68 now, tons of money and goods-it's just that fun to get rich out of a war. http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/11.jpg
  8. Sheogorath: "Was it Molag? No, no... Little Tim, the toymaker's son? The ghost of King Lysandus? Or was it... Yes! Stanley, that talking grapefruit from Passwall" "Now you. You can call me Ann Marie. But only if you're partial to being flayed alive and having an angry immortal skip rope with your entrails. I'f not... Then call me Sheogorath, Daedric Prince of Madness. Charmed." "Ooh, ooh, what kind of message? A song? a summons? Wait, i know! A death threat written on the back of an Argonian concubine? Those are my favorite." Also the whole scene with Farengar and Odahviing (while he's captured) in Dragonsreach.
  9. Why should reading a book be efective on developing fire-casting while playing with the fire itself shouldn't?
  10. Dragon Age is a modest somehow linear game...do this, that and this...in that order. TES games are more of your choice of style for playing it (wich i like - i usualy don't like playing hardcore warrior that jumps into fights :)-).
  11. Just instal Oblivion, Shivering Isle, Knigts of the Nine and other unofficial patches if you find them and play it for at least 2 weeks. I'm playing Skyrim now but i can't restrain to play Oblivion every now and then.(In my opinion, -leaving the graphics asside- it's Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.) In that order.
  12. Ulfric killed a king with his voice...(so do you, with a dagger, on a ship) The second in command for the Stormcloaks wears a bear on his head.(so does a bear) It's always more fun to rebel.(rebel, kill, steal, extort, assault...) Stormcloaks are better at activities. (burning, fighting, talking to chicks) - farming, tending sheeps, etc. - Imperials hate freedom.(Ulfric had named himself High King -???-) Imperials hate puppies.(so do i) An imperial is twice as likely to get your sister pregnant.(i don't have a sister) They look like Romans.(it's shallow to judge someone by looks) Romans are ineffectual. They proved this by dying many years ago.(after rulling the greatest empire for over 1000 years)
  13. I will have to go with The Empire despite the implication with the Aldmeri Dominion (frankly i don't see Ulfric destroing The Thalmor), i'm just not fond of people bragging about personal greatness, warrior death and all that Sovngarde thing. Currently i play Khajiit (thieve-merchant) and tend to go with the coin. And if you think about it...Morrowind started with you as an illegal imigrant, Oblivion with you in jail, Skyrim almost getting your head chopped off...next Elder Scrolls will probably start with you beeing dead, so i'm used with the empire trying to classifie/imprison/try to kill/kill me. In that light of circumstances it's better to be friends with the one's you'll be robbing blind. (they will be less suspicious) http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/11.jpg
