  1. So on my Gantz mod, I specifically removed the option for people to tag my file, because I knew someone would eventually cry foul and claim it was a cheat, and try to tag it as such. I checked in the tags today, knowing that I personally tagged only "Weapons" "Non-canon" and "Language - English". I found three votes for "Cheats". I voted it down so it's not there anymore, but perhaps there may be a problem with that option in the file attributes menu? Considering the option says "Allow users to tag your file" and I set it to "No" I would expect that my wishes would be respected, and nobody would be able to tag my file except me. I know I didn't tag it with "Cheats" since anything I upvote instantly gets 99 votes, what with me being the admin for the file.
  2. Well, with a new version up, I'm going to start proving people wrong.
  3. I ended up doing that, thanks. I do have another problem, though. http://www.thenexusf...-render-window/ The title is misleading, since I fixed that problem with a simple rename. The container just doesn't have any collision data now, and can't be activated. :\ Just..disregard everything. I seem to be solving these problems on my own as they come up, for some reason.
  4. Because I couldn't path to them using the GECK, since they were in the bsa. I used FNVedit to just point them to the directory the same way other items are, though, and it turned out as expected. :)
  5. Seeing how my attempt at texturing looked like a really badly done paint job...I may have to leave this to someone with more skill >_> Edit 1: Okay, using filters this might not be so bad. Edit 2: well, I'm probably going to relegate myself to finding sound clips worth using. Might I suggest this as a possible font for the "Hulkamania" shirt? http://www.dafont.com/top.php?page=10 Scroll down until you find "Feast of Flesh"
  6. In what can only end hilariously, I'm going to try it right now. Brother, this is going to be one hell of a match...er...retexture.
  7. If I wasn't so sleepy I would see what had to be done to do this. The other wrestler retextures aren't exactly...super-high-quality, so my lack of skill might actually come in handy
  8. Well, we have Macho Man dragons, Ultimate Warrior mammoths...why not take this to the inevitable conclusion and make the giants look and sound like Hulk Hogan? :D
  9. I know they're supposed to be compatible, but I've always had problems with AWOP, Monster Mod, and IWS at the same time. I actually removed Monster Mod and I get no crashes. On another conflict-related note, you probably don't need Repopulated Wasteland and IWS, since they both add NPCs to locations. Last I checked, Repopulated wasn't recently updated, either, so that may be an issue.
  10. Well, I solved my previous problem. I can move it just fine now, but it has no collision detection, despite having been exported from Blender to have it, and apparently having some data in NifSkope. I'm at a bit of a loss here. Screenshots of the nodes in both my sphere and a regular old electric box, which is recognized by the environment, are below. http://imgur.com/a/BpHKn
  11. Hrm, considering they do instakill things, it might be a better idea to toss them in God Weapons for now. At least until I get more done. I'm already working on putting together the "room", which would be the start of doing something besides just a weapon add.
  12. So I put up a mod recently, "Gantz Weapons". I plainly stated, first off, that it's my first real mod, and to take it easy. Then I reminded people that the source material involves people exploding into a bunch of gibs, and that the weapons reflected that, but were /NOT/ god weapons because they are true to the source, and not just there to be overpowered. Oh, and the TOS are on my side on this one, seeing as you're not allowed to bash modders or post negative comments. Yet, right away I get a bunch of comments deriding my work for making things "too easy" and I get called "lazy" for working with vanilla resources. Gods, people, I'm new to this. I tried to make something nice for fans of Gantz and this is the response I get? This kind of crap makes me not want to mod anymore. If all I'm going to get is people treating me like garbage for being true to the source material, why should I share my work with anyone, much less these ungrateful haters To quote the TOS: "The commenting, endorsement and rating system is available on Nexus sites to provide users with: an interface to offer positive feedback on the functionality of the file in question based on the author’s initial intentionsthe ability to offer constructive criticism on aspects of the file that could be improvedthe chance to ask for feature requests and discuss such requests with other users of the site or the authorthe ability to ask for help in troubleshooting problems with the file in question If your comment does not fit in to the above criteria then do not post. If you disagree with the content of a file on the site then do not post. Simply ignore the file and move on." It just baffles me that some people can be so hostile toward someone posting an initial version of what they hope to turn into a bigger mod later, criticizing as if they'd done the work instead.
  13. How would I go about setting the resources to be called directly from the BSA, to avoid any conflict with those in power, since obviously I can't upload a file that has any vanilla resources in it? Right now I have a few meshes in a subdirectory that I extracted them to, so I could tell the GECK to use them for the weapons I created, and the container they're in. This is the best place to upload mods for any sort of exposure these days, so a different site is a last resort. The GECK won't let me tell it to use files from the BSA, or at least I don't know how. As of now the structure of the mod is as follows: /Data/Gantz.esp /Data/Meshes/Izanagi/*meshes used by my mod* Edit: And once again a quick look in FNVedit pointed me in the right direction. >_< Sorry.
  14. I do indeed have OWB, and this is great news, because I couldn't get the script I was working on to work. Was probably missing something silly. There's still the matter of the projectile firing a bit off to the right? Are there any particular settings that would affect that?
  15. disregard, I found a much easier way than to mess with scripts. xD
  16. So in my quest to create a Gantz mod, at least stat-wise, I have made a gun that does loads of damage with every shot. 10000 to be exact. I've given it a modified BB projectile that goes slow enough that it can be dodged if the target is moving, but is super-accurate in VATS(You'll know why if you've read the manga). I have two problems: 1: The gun doesn't make things explode all the time. Actually, a torso shot is /never/ an explode-kill, nor is a headshot. Instead I get severings. Limb-shots for the most part are explosions, some severings. 2: The bb seems to fire a bit to the right. Any suggestions for fixing that? Now, if I could, I'd like to apply the Bloody Mess perk to the weapon, and only the Gantz weapons. So just giving it to the player wouldn't do. I tried just adding the effect to an actor effect that activated on a critical kill, but that doesn't do anything, and I almost always get crits with the weapon.
  17. So, I'm trying to put together some Gantz weapons in the GECK. I'm using stand-in models from vanilla resources for now, possibly until I can either make some models myself, or find someone willing to do so, and don't plan on requiring any DLC for the weapons to be useable. A while back I saw a great Gantz suit/sword mod, and couldn't help but wonder how awesome things like the X-Gun would be in NV. The thing(s) I would like a bit of guidance in regards to how to do them: Getting an invisible projectile with a three-second timer or so, so when you shot something, it would have three seconds to kill you, or at least contemplate its existence, before... A projectile that explodes in a burst of blood and gore, harming /only/ the target, and affecting the body part hit(obviously a body hit would be quite messy since everything is connected there), and maybe people close enough to get hit by the blood. Kinda like when you blow up a limb in the vanilla game and you take almost unnoticeable damage from the "explosion". Think of it as bone and meat traveling fast enough to sting a little, or maybe getting blood in your eye. For reference: http://gantz.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Gantz_equipment Right now I'm working on the X-Gun specifically. Once I can get the projectile working correctly, I have another task: Making the gun accurate to a godly degree in VATS, to simulate the time taken to use the lock-on feature that the first trigger would supply. Maybe adding a VATS-only attack that would cause the target to detonate completely. All limbs, the head, even the torso. Sorry if this is a lot to ask how to do in one go, but I've tried a few things myself, and managed to get no results near what I wanted. Maybe I'm missing a step somewhere, but I made a projectile with no actual model, and told it to act on a five-second timer(I'm still playing around with how much time I should give it) and despite the gun firing and using an energy cell, nothing happened after five seconds.
  18. So I killed a noble and his guard. The guy told me that he had nothing to say to me, and that I should move along before he had his guard arrest me. I don't take kindly to someone treating me like crap when I'm not the one needing a guard to escort me everywhere so I don't get killed by a stray skeever. Immediately my follower at the time, the Nord chick from The Bannered Mare, turns on me and tries to murder me, and the guards of whiterun start firing indiscriminately in my direction. First off, how did everyone immediately know I had killed the guy? Second, how did they know it wasn't for a particularly good reason? Third, once I've put my weapons away, even tossed them aside, and clearly have nothing with which to stab them with, WHY do they not bother to just arrest me, instead of repeatedly firing arrows into my face and swarming me with their crappy little swords? Lastly, once you take on the mantle of dragonborn, why are the guards still so happy to kill you for any little thing? Are they really so daft as to assault the world's last hope for survival against an evil that /all/ Nords, and pretty much everyone else, should know about? I get that they have jobs, but I'd think surviving the impending apocalypse would be a bit more important. Maybe it's not "true" to the lore of the games to just force guards to look the other way, but honestly, if I saw a guard trying to kill the one person that might be able to save the world, I would help the guy out, since I'd rather not you know, die in dragonfire. Any mods out there to just disable crime tracking altogether? I get that some random civilian might try to defend themselves, not knowing how important the PC is to the world, but even then they should be swarmed by people that /do/ know. It's in the best interests of Skyrim to keep the dragonborn alive.
  19. So, I got tired of my marriage with Mjoll, used the console to "divorce" her, and tried marrying the Black-Briar girl(Indun) instead. I figured that I didn't want to do that halfway through, and decided to just stay free for a while, and backed out of the wedding during the ceremony. Somewhere in all of this I accidentally added Maramal to the "marriage" faction. The problem is, even after removing him, and making sure any current "interests" were reset so that I wasn't expected to go see anyone else, Maramal doesn't have the "I want to have a wedding at the temple" topic anymore, even when I get the quest telling me to talk to him about it. Is there any way to fix this, short of starting a new game? (I'm level 35, really don't feel like redoing all of the early bits to get back to this point, considering the way the Companions and Thieves Guild questlines enjoy breaking so much.)
  20. Hope this is the right place to ask, but er..."This file is currently under review by a moderator and is not open for public access. Please do not contact the staff or the owner of the file regarding this issue unless you are the file owner or you might be penalised by the staff of the site." Why is this worded in a way that effectively closes users out of knowing what's going on? This seems less like something intended to prevent promotion of copyrighted material or illegal content, and more a way to keep users in the dark. The same goes for the "reviews" in threads for banned members, which are not viewable by non-moderators. It just feels...off, that site policy would try to keep the users in the dark about the whys and hows of policing the site. Not referencing anyone or anything in particular; I like this place, and I'd prefer not to be kicked out for asking a question.
  21. The companions I can think of are: Talking animal (Maybe funny, maybe apathetic, or even resentful. A laser-firing radroach would be fun.) An HK-47-like securitron FISTO (Admit it, you want to see him tell enemies to assume the position. Good lord now I actually want to mod this into the game myself. It sounds like fun.) Benny (Probably been done, but I was thinking more "Follow me you worthless imbecile" than an actual partner. A lackey, even.) A BoS Paladin from the DC area, simply to give the player hope that the BoS might one day change their ways. A "human robot". That is, a human in full power armor, who has sealed him/herself in it permanently, with some way or other to survive indefinitely. Would make for a great conversation partner, as you either attempt to convince them of their humanity, or let them believe, if only because it's funny. Badly-done Liberty Prime-like voice effects could be used.(IE some guy or gal trying to sound like Prime, instead of anything from FO3. "Communism is a tem...dang. Forgot the rest. Sorry boss.") I'd be willing to help with voice acting if any was needed.
  22. There was another mod out there that wasn't released, because to achieve half of the effects(Static when hit, instead of blood, different shaders, etc) the creator had to edit the code in the game executable itself.(A violation of the EULA that would have possibly given Bethesda reason to draw a C&D order.) Probably not something we have to worry about here, if the gas effect were used with NVSE, since none of that changes the exe or even really touches it. That said, it might be worth a shot. I'm new to modding, aside from normal stuff like NPCs, unique items, etc. but would definitely be willing to look into exactly what kind of difference getting together a script that spawns and despawns the heat effect from a certain distance onward, or better yet, modifies the horizon blur, similiar to, as you mentioned, The Imaginator, or Nevada Skies. With rain, snow, dust, and radstorms possible, without any real hit to performance, I'm thinking some heatwaves on the horizon wouldn't be much.
  23. This is great news! I've longed for an Assassin blade in New Vegas. There just aren't many great stealth weapons. (Really; I have to beat someone's head in with a crowbar or sneak crit them with a machete? Still doesn't do much to armored enemies.) Stealth characters are just a bit underpowered, imo. This might get them back to being a good choice. (Though it'd be great if there was no dismember chance for the thing. Never have quite understood how some of that works in the game.)
  24. You'll likely crash the engine with a vehicle mod, because of the way Gamebryo loads and unloads cells. It wouldn't be able to handle such quick changes in scenery, and at very least, you'd have some horrific visual effects from transitioning so fast. That said, Fallout just doesn't have vehicles, really. The whole point of the game is to walk the wastes, and fight for survival. Fallout 2 had the Highwayman, which required quite a bit of work to get, and even then operated on microfusion cells, a rare ammo type usually better spent on weapons. It added a lot to the story, really, having its own quest revolving around a chop shop. Vertibirds are pretty much the only mechanized transport that seems to exist, and they stopped being common when the Enclave stopped being big. A possessed car might make for a neat enemy or something, but a functioning car? About as easy to get ahold of as an unexploded nuke, and just as dangerous. In DC, and in NV, the only cars around are junkers, all blown up or rusted out completely, from years of sitting in the wasteland, after a nuclear war. In short, it's just not how Fallout works.
