  1. Here are a few good tweaks for you; 1. Since you have a 64 bit OS and 4gb RAM, install the 4gb patch (also known as Large Address Aware). This will lift the 2GB cap on RAM usage and give you significantly better FPS and stability. 2. If you have a free USB 2.0 port, use Ready Boost (may already be in your computer) and a 16gb flash drive as an extra memory cache. You will have to reformat the device to use more than 4gb. This is a great thing to do, as it speedsup your computer all the time, not just helping Oblivion. Note; if you have an SD card reader, they work also. Further note; I use Windows 7 64 bit. Vista has Ready Boost also, but you might be limited to a single 4gb device. check out the wiki, it's very helpful. 3. Use a Game Booster or a similar program to kill background functions. Game Booster is pretty safe, better ones exist, but require you to know a bit more. My laptop has pretty similar specs to yours, and by doing these things, and more, i'm able to play a fairly heavily modded game with good FPS and few crashes. Oh, and disable the UAC. It causes problems with the game.
  2. After looking over your load order, i noticed that you have a problem with Clocks Of Cyrodill. The esp your'e using is just the patch for Open Cities, which your'e not using. Hope it was this easy. update; i may be wrong about this. after checking out better cities, i think you may have it right.
  3. For troubleshooting, see if you still have this issue with no mods active. If not, there is a problem with the way you are installing the meshes. Try it this way; open your Oblivion folder (first sub-folder should be "Data") in one window, and a mod that you are missing meshes for in another window (make sure you have extracted using 7zip). Drag the "Meshes" folder from your mod over to the other window and drop it into the "Data" folder. note; while a lot of people install everything this way, i would recomend installing via OBMM. If so, then you are missing vanilla meshes. You may have to reinstall the game, But before you do, make sure you have learned how to install everything correctly and test any other mods you may be interested in. Make all your mistakes now, learn from them, and start fresh. Sorry if this post seems redundant, i need to learn to type faster.
  4. It sounds like you didn't delete your Oblivion file after uninstalling. Check out bben's guide on this site or Tes4Positive, both are solid guides to uninstalling cleanly and reinstalling. Make sure you (after uninstalling) defrag your hard drive and clean your registry befors reinstalling. Concerning CTD on exit, check out Fast Exit.
  5. Concerning programs on 64 bit; If you use your machine mostly for gaming, and play newer games, you shouldn't have any problems. However if you use it for work, and have other programs installed that you absolutely need, make sure you do your homework first to make sure they will be compatible with your new OS. Or try to find 64 bit versions.
  6. Make sure you install the 64 bit version of win7. the 4gb patch will not work on any 32 bit os. I have read that you can install the game and a second os inside a partition, this may be an option for you, but i dont understand it well enough to help you do it. do a little research. Many of the programs you are currently using wont work on a 64 bit os, so you have some hard choices to make. Keep in mind that when Skyrim comes out you will need the extra ram. About Falling Stars and Potion Bottles, they shouldnt slow fps, enjoy them now.
  7. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but i think i may know whay youre talking about. Does it say to reinstall Oblivion over your existing game?
  8. I also use windows 7, and i remember having that problem. Download 7zip and use that to extract the mod. Sorry, i probably should have menitoned that. Since it sounds like you are probably going to have to reinstall, Id Defrag, and clean your registry before reinstalling. Maybe try cleaning the registry before you even uninstall, as this could solve the issue (hopefully). I use CCleaner.
  9. Before you change your video card, take another look at the 3 or 4gb patches. I use many of the same mods, and can almost guarentee that your main issue is ram usage. I use windows 7 64 bit with 4gb ram, and the 4gb patch nearly doubled my fps. also very few crashes now and much shorter loading times. It was very easy to install, and i have no negative effects. oh, and its free. since we like the same mods, i think you might like these; UL Silverfish River ( posted yesterday ) Book Jackets of Oblivion Alluring potion and wine bottles Cosmic Night Sky Cycler Falling Stars instead of Book Placement, try Decorator Assintant. It lets you place ANYTHING where you want and lock it down.
  10. Try this; 1. uninstall any mods you have already installed. 2. try to run the game. a. doesnt work; follow bbens guide on uninstall/reinstall located on this site. Game should work now. b. it works; proceed. to install a mod with obmm; 3. extract a mod into the same folder you downloaded it into. 4. open the extracted folder and read the read me file so you know exactly what esp to use, etc... 5. minimize this window to one side of your screen. Open documents on the other. create a new folder called "new mod". 6. Into this folder you will drag only the esp(s) you need plus any meshes, textures, sounds, or bsas that you need. note; none of these subfolders should be titled Data, Oblivion, or subfolders that would go into a mesh or texture folder. Unfortunately, not all mods are packaged in a friendly format, so you need to pay attention. 7. Run OBMM 8. Select Create, add folder, navigate to your "new mod" folder.( you should see textures and meshes below in the tree, but esps dont show here.) Select "new mod" you should see the esps pop up in OBMMs window. 9. Name it. (upper left) 10. Click "create omod" 11. activate new omod. 12. run the game. 13. Enjoy. I realized as i was typing this that that i might be talking to you like you were a moron. If you are not a moron, im sorry. If you are a moron, im also sorry, but for different reasons. I will flag this topic, please update.
  11. Have you installed an OBSE plugin called Oblivion Stutter Remover? Its commonly used( and highly recomended), but caps FPS at 30. If not, open your streamline ini and check your FPS settings. note; Streamline 2.1 is outdated, use 3.1 instead. If you are going to mod Oblivion, you will probably have to learn to live with sub 30 FPS eventually.
  12. If it wont even run vanilla, it sounds like a bad install. Check out one of the great guides on uninstalling/reinstalling just to make sure you didnt skip a step, but do the reinstall anyway. If that didnt work, id try buying a new copy. Even a tiny scratch in the wrong place can cause major problems. Also make sure you are running the most current version of Oblivion, as some mods will be dependant on this. One more thought; before running the game, go into options from the main menu and turn down the graphics settings a notch. Oblivion doesnt recognize newer drivers, and may not have configured itself correctly.
  13. Sorry, but it doesnt look like it. Theres a thread on Oblivion and memory usage that can explain this better than me.
  14. I was having the same problem, in the same areas. What fixed for me was the 4gb patch. you have enough RAM, but you also need a 64 bit OS. Keep in mind that the game will always run slower in these areas. The goal is just to get to where its playable. I'm using the 4 gb patch on my laptop (intel core i3 2.4ghz dual, 4gb RAM), and like to use big fps killers like RAEVWD, Open Cities,Unique Landscapes, Natural Environments... I roll through AFK Weye at 12 - 15 fps, and consider it very playable. You may have loftier goals, but considering I only got 5 - 6 fps here before installing the patch im pretty happy.
  15. This mny be an easy fix, just deactivate Salmo The Baker CObl esp. It did the same thing in my game, this problem has been reported by others also. other suggestions; install UOP( Unofficial oblivion patch) it wont help this problem, but will fix other CTD causes. USE BOSS! hope its this easy.
  16. A few things to try... 1. the Salmo The Baker CObl esp caused the same issue with my game, try deactivating it. 2. i see a MMM Friendlier Factions OOO+FCOM esp, but you dont have FCOM posted in your load order. Check the MMM read me to see what this is, and if you need it. Im one of the few people not using either OOO or MMM, but i think you may need FCOM to run them together. 3. if your load order is in order, then you arent using BOSS. USE BOSS! hope this helps.
  17. Try the 4 GB Patch. gave me a 50-100% FPS boost, area dependant. Found link at Tes4Positive in instructions on uninstalling/reinstalling. I couldnt play Oblivion without this. It lets me run some big framerate killers (Natural Environments, Unique Landscapes(all), RAEVWD, and Open Cities) on my LAPTOP!!! specs- Intel Core i3 2.4 Ghz dual core 4 gb ram 1696 mb graphics memory (only 64 mb dedicated) 500 gb hd Windows 7 64 Still need more? try RPG Black Dragons Low Tri Poly Grass. Also, when using Streamline with Oblivion Stutter Remover, you should set Streamline's desired FPS settings inside the parameters set by OSR.(10-31, if i remember rightly). Make sure you factor in the combat FPS setting( not adjustable in game, use ini.)
  18. Has anyone seen OMOD convergence data for combining Short Grass with Lo Poly Grass? For my recent uninstall/reinstall, I decided to convert all my mods to OMOD's. While doing so I noticed that SG contained only an esp. LPG has only meshes/ textures. I combined them in one OMOD and it works wonderfully, but I'd love to see a scripted version that allows for Lo Lo Poly Grass and LO Poly Alt Grass as options upon activation. I'd just do it myself, but, truth be told, i'm probably the greenest nube there is( 38 yrs old, just bought my first computer 5 mo. ago. Been playing Oblivion 3 mo.) I tried all the applicable search parameters in TesNexus, but came up empty. I just wanted to ask here before i flaunt my nubeness by requesting it.
  19. with regards to your terrain issues, there's a seemingly little known "mod" called LAND MAGIC that i think might solve your problems. it's pretty safe to try, as if you don't like what it changes, all you have to do is deactivate the esp. i' havn't tried DIVERSE WATER LIFE, but i am running ALIVE WATERS and am pretty happy with it. p.s your english is fine.
