  2. Let me explain where I'm at. I've edited a .mesh in Blender and exported it, and put it in the game. No problem, but it was a file from another mod. Once I passed that test, I extracted the NIF and Geometery data from Starfield's BA2, but cannot narrow down which geometry is which without importing it into Blender one by one. I opened the NIF files in NIF Scope, but I couldn't find an entry pointing towards the geometry. I'm assuming there's a tool or I'm just being dumb. So, what I'm asking is if there is an easier way to find the specific .mesh file you're hoping to edit?
  3. I'm working on one. My goal is to just convert all vanilla armors to a slightly more curvy look. I did the same with Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Currently I'm just learning the ropes so it might be a week or two before I start rolling anything out.
  4. I opened a save file with Notepad ++ and found that a lot of the data can be easily read, though huge chunks are just null. I found where everyone in your game is saved, including name, appearance, voice, and so on. The problem is that Notepad ++ still scrambles a lot of the info, so I'm looking for a way around that. Why you ask? Well, one of the missions you have to save a "kid". In my case she has an old ladies face and it's driving me crazy.

This is obviously a far deeper argument than this comment section really needs, but I have many times in my life realized that even some of my own beliefs were based on idealistic fiction. As if society is not inherently shallow. Societies have always been consumed with ads of one form or another. Promoting idea's for financial gain or power. Of the vast history of promotion, a new video game console, or a laundry detergent is by far a step up from the more ominous promotions of the past. Modern ads may even be more truthful. No hidden messages. They want you to buy a product, end of story. I take comfort in the straight forwardness of materialism. XD
  6. Who the hell is complaining about advertisements? I'm sick of everyone demanding everything for free like spoiled brats. I'd accept, "I'm trying to make money off of my mod site." If I owned and ran a massive site that cost as much as the Nexus and a user complained about small adds I'd permaban them into Oblivion! Than I'd start a mandatory $15 a month membership like every other online service. Which honestly, a $5 a month fee for downloading isn't a bad idea. Unless ads really work, but otherwise.
  7. I've been torn. On one hand Bethesda.net is terrible. On the other, many authors have been just as bad if not worse. I understand that theft needs to be dealt with, but to some great degree that has been used as a cover for merely attacking anyone using beth.net. So, it's hard to figure out who to be angry at more. It boils down to pretentiousness and arrogance on both sides. Being a legitimate author on beth.net is like being caught in the middle of a pissing contest. Everyone is pissing on you for no apparent reason. Though I agree with Dark0ne about how beth.net appears to have created a rift within the community, I'd also argue it more so exposed a rift. I've felt this rift since the launch of Fallout 4. A huge influx of new mod authors, and frankly many Skyrim veterans took it as a personal assault. The rift was created. The second you add console mods to the mix...fire and gasoline. Authors are fully justified in defending their mods from theft, but quite a few legitimate authors are getting hit in the crossfire. Too many are using this opportunity to take down others mods within the confusion. Frankly it's a mess, that admittedly Bethesda is primarily responsible for, but this rift won't go away, even after Bethesda, in theory, fixes their platform.
  8. If your mod doesn't actually enable content from the DLC, they'll likely not care. However if you are enabling functionality like seen in the DLC, but for the base game, than that'd be a problem.

  10. Yes it is always good to give into extortion to make the extortion not work anymore! The victim blaming has gone out of hand, because we don't upload and give in to the demands of the entitled, they steal, and the best way to combat the theft, id to give in to the entitled demands. That is so stupid and pansy ass waste *sigh* I'd give you the full monty but then someone would have to shut down the thread. Listen, use google, check "Appeasement WWII" see how well this has worked before, and how stupid it is to do. Not to mention you are now saying "WORK HARDER MA'S BEFORE THEY STEAL YOUR STUFF" except last I checked, dogtooth and unoctium have been playing the "When was our mods stolen today" game, not IF, but WHEN. the time they are taking to fight theft is probably 5-1 over the time they get to mod. This is a great brave new world. I love how the onus of responsibility and workload in ANYONE'S FLIPPING MIND is on the victim to do more to prevent theft, not the stupid company hosting. Frankly everyone can suck it. Just like every damn time the Nexus Elite Council get's involved with anything, the only people who are getting screwed are us peasants. No doubt Bethesda needs to hire at least one moderator, or better yet a bakers dozen for support, but at this point all I've seen is arrogant pricks getting everyone's mods removed, except their own, and starting ANOTHER FRENZY. Can you guys please just not? Jesus, every time anything happens here comes the Nexus Elite Council of mod authors. "We made mods for Morrowind!" Who gives a crap? Remember when Fallout 4 launched and the N.E.C (I made a nick name :D) decided it was their duty to get everyone's mods removed because they were unsafe! When that didn't work, they just started a psycho panic that us authors actually making mods had to deal with. However when a jackass stole my mod and than for some insane reason talked trash on me in the description he got a semi-firm warning. He posts the CBBE body....Holy baby Jesus INSTA-BAN on every site that ever hosted a mod!!! Now the Council MUST get their claws into Bethesda.net. Oh, and we can't wait to be told what, when, where, and how to do things. We were getting sick of freedom of thought any ways. Admittedly this is a weird position for me. Mod theft sucks balls, and Bethesda needs to do a million things before they'll even pass for a mod site, but I'm also sick and tired of the same damn people showing up and somehow I get screwed every time. It's always over dramatic, wickedly arrogant, self obsessed and an overall big hoopla. "Copyright infringement, and it's my art, and the theft is stealing and they should burn in hell!" No. The mods should be removed. That's all. Your not losing money. Just make sure the mods get removed, and move on. No need to start a civil war with a dash of apocalypse "cuz sum won stol ma mod!!!" The real problem is that too many people listen to you guys. They have no brains and running around like rabid parrots. Well, we're sick of your minions. They are worse than mod thieves. If at least there were nuts I could kick I'd feel better, but I'm guessing there are none to be kicked. Anyways. I'm off getting banned. See ya guys. Woot-Woot!
  11. The problem I have found is Bethesda. They launched something that they have zero idea of how to handle, and appear to have no real desire to learn. Honestly, this is pretty much how they have handled anything not a game specifically developed by them. They put in minimal effort and than sit back and watch it die. I assume it's a hobby. As far as stolen mods go, this is not exclusive to Bethesda.net or consoles. Stolen mods get posted on the Nexus all the time. The difference is that Nexus immediately takes care of the problem. Beth.net may some day hire moderators, and some sort of support staff for mod authors, but as of right now it is a disaster. Not just stolen mods, but servers crashing corrupting mods, and what appears to be, and I say this with much disbelief, getting hacked. Changes happened to my mod file that are impossible to be a random corruption of data. Once I re-uploaded the exact same files it worked again. Than a week later the mod disappeared. I repeatedly tried to contact Bethesda and was ignored. I'm sure they are super busy, but it wasn't OUR idea they start a mod site now was it? As for mod theft...good luck with that. Bethesda has a lawyer, so their covered.
  12. As a mod author myself I can testify that mod users are generally complete idiots no matter what platform you find them on. Asking the same damn question over and over again. Oh, praise PC gamer's for the insightful question: FUTA!? Is this Futa? Will this Futa? Can this Futa? Will you make Futa? Not to mention literally requesting a CBBE version OF F'N EVERYTHING!!!! NO. I cannot make a CBBE version of a gun retexture!!! Also, what part of README don't you understand. We might as well just upload esp files named "game_mod" with no pictures or description because no one is gonna read it anyways. They'll just request a Futa CBBE version and than post, "it dost work" in the comments. I believe all us mod authors would agree that choosing between PC mod users and console mod users is like choosing how to have your genitals ripped from your groin. Nothing you choose is really going to make what happens next all that much more enjoyable.

  14. Been trying to find what triggers the Wet effect on player and NPC's when it rains. I assumed it was a "Magic Effect", but destWetEffect is the only thing close and it is not the one. Most visual effect entries are referring to Mirelurks. I've tried to back track from "weather", but found nothing. No entries what so ever refering to rain, and a wet effect. Anyone have any idea's?

  16. There's an Alpha 3DS Max nif plugin you'll need to export it. Than you'll need to open it into Bodyslide/outfit studio to get it rigged up to the Fallout 4 skeleton. However without knowing specifically what the project is I can't say specific steps, but that's a rough idea.
  17. I'd imagine Bethesda probably wanted to have the story more involved with the rest of the game, but players freaked bad enough with having a fleshed out back story. Personally I felt Fallout really needed that anchor to help flesh out the world. I'd actually prefered more references to your prewar life. It'd been cool to play as both spouses, and be able to swap back and forth.
  18. I will promise everyone this. Our spouses will return. Either with DLC, or by my own hands. Frankly, it's dumb that the player character has the technology to resurrect their spouse and instead flirts with random people across the commonwealth.
  19. Outfit Studio that comes with Bodyslide is a must have. CBBE drives me crazy, but the tools are priceless. As far as starting modding, I'd recommend getting your feet wet with some FO4 edit mods, retexturing, and stuff along those lines. Once you learn your way around FO4 Edit, and how Fallout works, there's not much you can't do fairly easy.
  20. What the hell is up with this game?! I don't think you're crazy. It seems to at least help. I'm running a FX 8350, with a GTX 660. I generally run the game on medium where I get 50-60 fps, but with a slight micro stutter the entire time. I lowered the settings to low, and didn't really change much except the game was ugly. I boosted the graphics to Ultra.....40-60fps. What the hell is that?! So, I get micro stutter without loosing frame rate, but at the same time I can run the game on ultra with no real drawback.

You do realize that the vast amount of copies sold are on consoles. Which to date have never had mods. Claiming the mods make the games playable is absurd. 90% of what we do is add dongs to everything. Let's not get pretentious here.
  22. It appears like all future patches attempt to break mod support through the launcher. Which is weird. Why release a game and promote making mods, and then repeatedly disable mod support? We originally thought it was just for Beta testing but obviously those changes continue on into the official release.

I think what may be the real root is spam mods, or what at least appears as spam mods. Game saves, CBBE presets, ENB presets. Sometimes it appears like they are just flooding the downloads. You can block them, and that's really the only real solution if they bother you. It's also okay to post on here your feelings about those types of mods within reason, however there is no way to sort through what is necessary, or what is a proper mod beyond the tagging system. The solution is already in place as far as that goes. As for who a man and who's a woman, it really doesn't matter. Either which way. I have a lot of female fans of Busty mod, but that doesn't make it any less a mod about having big boobies. The point being it's okay for things to be perverted. They don't need to be justified. It doesn't matter. Who cares? As for the tired cliche' "You guys need girlfriends." I suggest you hang around the mod community a little longer before you start commenting. Here's a few rules to live by as far as this discussion is concerned. 1.) "Noob" Never use the word noob...ever. Unless you're 12 years old and it's 2005. 2.) "You guys need girlfriends" Downloading mods in general isn't exactly the way to a woman's heart. Also, it's still not 2005 again. This makes you sound like a tool. It's like showing up to a party and proclaiming, "This party is da bomb!" You just don't do that.....because it's 2016. You are not a unique butterfly. 3.) I'm a girl, he's a dude, I'm a man....no one cares. You're genitals are not digitized here. There are no girls on the internet....or boys. You guys ever noticed that you picture everyone online as an effeminate, sexless being of words. I blame it on smiley's. :laugh: How can you be masculine :blush: when you are posting :kiss: smiley's? 4.) "My actions are not perverted, I have a serious purpose!" All actions are inherently perverted. Hell, the definition of modding a game is to pervert it's original design. Also, we all are actually perverts in the sexual way. I am. I almost drove myself insane making boobs bigger in Fallout 4. Mission accomplished! ...and I lost interest.
  25. I replaced the textures for the Slinky Dress. I changed the material file location in the .nif and had a custom location for the textures. The outfit loads and displays the correct textures, but with a heavy digitized, almost like pixelization. It increases the further away you get, and decreases the closer you zoom in. I've seen the same glitch in Skyrim but it was always the skin texture. In that case it eventually would go away. This seems more permanent. I'll try doing a texture swap instead through an esp and see if that works, since that's what I've been doing up to this point with no problem. UPDATE: Material swap did not resolve the problem. I also reverted to stock textures and the glitch persists. It does go away if I revert to the original material file.
