@Georgiegrill I can pretty much rule out mod-interference, as I played my earlier characters without mods installed. aaand I've played some very fugly folks too ;p @Sukeban Yeah I read about that too, but when I find supposedly "soft" targets, they tend to still not respond to intimidate. Thanks for your replies, so far it seems I've a cursed version of the game (completely legal mind you!).

Combining Butler Uniform with Lincoln's Tophat might help out. Missing the monocle there though, would also like a sophisticated walking-cane with that :)

Stupid? - No, in fact it's only logical ánd highly practical. In my playthroughs I always just use the console to crank up my crafting skills to a respectable level, create some upgraded items, and then subtract some gold from myself. All just to simulate going to a crafter and paying for their services, so I highly endorse this request.

I've read this complaint on countless forums, but never found a solution to my problem. Aside from a few scripted "always successes", I never get intimidate to work. Is there any solution to this? I used various playtroughs, races, levels, speechcraft levels, game-progress, with and without the intimidate perk. Even tried fully upgraded daedric armor and battle axe along with maxing out heavy armor and two-handed weapon skills. Never a success.

It seems to me Ulfric with his ability to shout and killing the high king because he wasn't strong, would be a better solo combatant than General Tulius, who's more of a leader. So what about making the initial battle at Solitude tougher instead?

Two Alik'r mercenaries were harassing a redguard woman down the road. I killed the two mercs, but then the woman started yelling for help, trying to get me arrested. I was forced to kill her too, and because she offended me I ate from her corpse.

I let him live. He's a bit hyper at times, and rather eccentric, but his loyalty is absolute. Added bonus that he annoys the crap out of Astrid (whose arrogance and disrespect for the night mother annoy me). And out of character, I love jesters.

Can't help, but I've experienced something similar. Only in my case the square sign only appears if I start with a vowel.

Well there is a dual-wield blocking mod called Dual Wield Parrying which offers a few ways to dual-wield block, haven't used it in a while though...

I know there's a mod called Autocasting Magic AND Bunny Hop AHK SCRIPTS which does this for dual/double casting.
