  1. Hey, welcome back. I haven't played Skyrim in years so I can't really answer any of this for you but surely someone will be able to help. You are more likely to get help if you get this topic moved or post your question to a more appropriate section. See this thread Maybe someone else has asked the same question and you can find discussion already there with Search. I suggest this section: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/3510-fallout-4-mod-troubleshooting/ I gave another member some hopefully helpful advice in This thread. Of course instead of Skyrim you'll just need to use the Fallout 4 Forums. Some of the tools in the links there might not apply to Fallout 4. Good luck!
  2. Welcome from someone who hasn't even posted in this section yet, even to introduce himse Going back to your issues, I can offer a couple of hopefully helpful links. You're in luck, people have been refining skyrim mods and methods for some time now... I haven't played in a couple of years but when I inevitably go back I will be well-defended against frustration. How to ask for help - this is written for the Skyrim Technical Support (not to do with mods) forum. This information can often be of use when asking for support with mods in Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting. Some of the info asked for in these posts can get pretty big and take up a lot of space in a post, making it hard to read or annoying to scroll past. This can be avoided by using spoilers like you see below. Members can click to expand what you've hidden inside them. Posting your Load Order from NMM If you want to put text like Load Order into a spoiler then follow the arrows in this picture. You can usually move 'windows' like this Special BBCode box by clicking on the 'title bar' at the top and dragging it around. This is a pictorial example of how to get your Load Order from Nexus Mod Manager (NMM).
  3. To the Original Poster: Thank you for including your mod list. I haven't played in a while and I haven't installed the Beta patch 1.3 Update http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1583568-fallout-4-13-beta-update/ but I didn't see anything in the notes about it. I don't see anything in your list which suggests (to me) that it would be having this effect. The only things I would think to even look at (at first) would be anything I think might affect ammo or anything to do with it. The Companion Infinite Ammo is one of these - I really don't imagine that it's the cause but it has ammo in the name. I (think I...) remember reading posts a few weeks ago about there being no (currently known) way to limit enemies' available ammo. Couldn't find them again with a quick search. When I last played, if I gave an NPC only 3 rounds using the console or Trade with Settler, that NPC would still be able to shoot indefinitely. I assumed that someone would at least be able to simulate enemies running out through scripts later. This would be great news to me. Have you tried identifying a possible cause for this because I don't think it is original 'behavior'. If this is "a thing", it means that we can affect and configure this behavior ourselves. I have always been annoyed at enemies' seemingly unlimited supply as I am running down my rounds in a protracted firefight but they can just spray and pray indefinitely. I assumed this would at least be changed in the future by (custom AI scripting?) Pasting load order: I like seeing a text load order because I can Search it, and see it in the Nexus Forums color scheme. Thanks for considering doing this in future posts. You can export your plugins list easily with NMM: Click the 'Plugins' tab above the Green (+) sign.Click the button with the Right-Arrow pointing out of the icon.Choose "Export to the clipboard".Picture of this: In your Forums thread, right-click in the Editor box and click Paste Or hit CTRL+V How to paste text into a spoiler tag:
  4. I'm not sure what you mean by "config tool" but I'm guessing you're talking about Fallout 4 Configuration Tool - By Bilago The quote below was for Skyrim and not specifically for MOD troubleshooting, skip the tools that aren't used for Fallout. It's a great post to learn How to ask for help. This stuff is a good idea to include in "help with these mods" threads: Editing this section to apply more to Fallout 4. Original quote was from that post. Other stuff you need to let us know Where is the game located ( Windows Path) typically C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Common\Fallout 4\Data But if you installed it somewhere else it will be different. Game version? Beta Opt-In? Any DLCs? Are you using NMM or any other mod manager? What version? Are you using F4SE? what version? Any other helper programs? BOSS? LOOT? Tes5Edit? Wrye Bash? Config Tool? anything else? Then, if you have mods - we really do need to know what mods and what the load order is. How to paste your load order from NMM
  5. Written specifically about Skyrim but all good advice, just ignore Skyrim specific tools: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1592053-how-to-ask-for-help/ His signature also has a link which gives some information on basic Mod troubleshooting, browse around the forum there too and you can soak up some great advice.
  6. Hey, looks like this thread is kind of past the issue but this is a great thread on >> How to ask for help << This is how I put images in my posts: I upload to imgur.com (i don't log in, i just do it anonymously), or do it automatically with my screen capture tool 'Lightshot'. I right-click the picture on the imgur or lightshot page, and click Copy Image Location. This gets me a direct link to the image file. This menu option could be called something different on a browser other than Firefox. I then click the button in the Post Editor that the red arrow is pointing to. This allows you to embed an image. If the image is really big (wide, tall) then I usually put it in a spoiler tag. Just type [spoiler] in front of (or above) your image after it shows up in your Edit window, and then type [/spoiler] after it. This is BBcode which you can look up online for more help. If you can't get your cursor 'below' or 'after' the image then hit the End key on your keyboard. Good luck, hope this helps people help you.
  7. Updated Video I think you watched an outdated one. I thought he linked / annotated a note in the old one to view the updated version. SResourceDataDirsFinal= is what I use. Other users report that using the "old" method with [...]DirsFinal=STRINGS\[...] works fine. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4421/? This is where I first learned of the updated method. I don't know whether using the Beta patch will change any of this. Edit: I did not have any issues that I know of with the 'old' method except that it seemed slower on initial startup through NMM (before menus and when loading save file for the first time, mods and game installed on an SSD together).
  8. I tend to agree, this is a good recommendation and might save you hours of headache. Hardware issues can also cause strange and difficult to trace problems. I know that it is possible for a hardware, driver, or software/OS issue to only be exposed by a particular game when others seem to do fine. This, from my fairly shallow understanding, is due to the myriad ways that different software can make use of your system's resources. Memtest is best done with one stick at a time installed from what I have read. Most recommendations are to let it run for several hours at a time. Also research windows event logging and look there, and check for memory/debug dumps created from crashes/freezes. These can sometimes point to a particular driver (video, disk controller, who knows what). Realtime monitors are available to "keep an eye" on in-use system resources and may point out a problem that isn't recorded or easily pinpointed in other types of reports. If your system does freeze or crash then system files can be corrupted by lost or bad/incomplete writes to the disk as I understand it. If you want me to elaborate on any of this then ask but try to search for yourself (it seems that you will, I think I gave you enough info to go on if you want to diagnose further before trying to repair/reinstall your OS.) Chkdsk is good but also try an sfc "system file check". If you are comfortable / know how to work with your PC hardware try safely removing and then re-seating your RAM and add-in cards. RAM should snap in and the latches should close without being pressed in by extra fingers. Make sure connections are tight, re-seat HDD connectors. Basic stuff, maybe you've tried this, maybe it seems useless but strange things happen. Good luck, probably someone more knowledgeable can offer better advice.
  9. This is the only mod I can find which gives the impression of "Seasons". If this is the one you're referencing, it states in the description: If this isn't the mod you're talking about please provide a link. I found these commands with Google. This sets the game date to Christmas. I didn't test it but people write that it works. set GameDay to 25 set GameMonth to 12 I imagine these work to change the "time of year". This will probably break quests and all sorts of things though so use at your own risk. Back up your saves.
  10. I'm not sure why this is necessary (I just blindly went into it when I made a replacer, didn't read much before doing), but I had to make .fuz files for my Quiet Weeding Farming mod. I ran into the same problem you just described when I first started. See Skyrim Audio Converter. Make sure to grab the blank .lip file from Optional Files.
  11. It worked fine for me. I grabbed the mod you are talking about, and Face Ripper, and successfully changed one of my PCs to variants from the Atomic Surgery mod. Review your method: http://i.imgur.com/rppJGot.png Edit: I don't personally use this mod or this tool, I was just curious whether and how this would work; so there might be issues - or not - that I'm not aware of with this, just wanted to report my findings here in hopes that it might help ya out. Good luck, and enjoy your game.
  12. Err, hard to tell if you're being sarcastic; makes sense to me. :ermm:
  13. Welcome to the Nexus! Hopefully your disappointment will fade and you'll be back to try again. It takes a bit of background knowledge and preparedness to face issues when using mods. A common idea here is, if you haven't managed to completely break your game, you're not trying hard enough! There really are a lot of absolutely fantastic mods here, both game-changing and subtle, that have seriously enhanced my enjoyment of Beth games throughout the years. It may take some reading, research, hard work and late nights fueled by caffeine. You may be forced to learn some skills and things about computers and their use that you would never have needed otherwise. In the end though, once you've got your load order settled and you're grooving on all the free and awesome user-created content, you'll know it is worth it. Edit: I know firsthand how frustrating it can be getting mods dealing with custom skeletons (yes skeletons, and not how you might think) and animations. I haven't played Skyrim in a couple of years so my memory on these matters is a bit hazy but I feel certain that if you carefully read how to properly setup your game and manager; and pore over the modpage descriptions, documentation, and comments for the mods that you try to use, you'll prevail. Head over to >> this << section of the forums and search / browse for threads related to your problem, if this fails then create a new thread asking nicely for someone to help with your issue. A brief but useful little guide from the wiki: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_install_Skyrim_mods A more detailed guide with some great relevant info from one of our users, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56894/? this guide suggests using Mod Organizer which I won't either discourage or recommend; NMM is probably better for less knowledgeable users but MO is more powerful and more likely to stabilize an install using a lot of mods if you want to do a bit of learnin'. You've probably watched this already but here's a video from a popular and helpful fellow made for those who are new to Skyrim modding: https://youtu.be/RxQ1JN_X-_Y
  14. [/line]I am not experienced with modding and this may be complete hogwash; This method is what I would have used for Skyrim but now we have BGSMs handling materials, it will be obvious to anyone who knows about modding that I am a layman in all of this... hopefully someone more knowledgeable can call me out if I'm completely wrong. If anything, at least some of this might teach you something or lead you to good terms to search for in tutorials / articles / the web. [/line]Maybe there's an easier way to get what you want. The method which immediately occurs to me, and may even be wrong, is: Find the object in question in fallout4.esm using FO4Edit CTRL+Click on the part in brackets [sTAT:xxxxxx] to jump to that FormID See the mesh for the object [/line]this is as far as I got, I was getting header read errors trying to open FO4 .nifs with Nifskope alpha 20140710 - not interested enough at the moment to dig any further What I planned to do next was: [/line]Open this mesh in nifskope, see which textures it is using? Something dealing with BGSM / materials files? I hoped to take this opportunity to learn a bit about FO4 models and textures but will have to wait for another day. If none of this makes any sense to you then google for the terms I used. I'm certain that there are tutorials/articles/forum posts with the information and help you need. Good luck.
  15. This, etc... Doesn't really help you find the .esp that is giving you troubles but you could always make your own with the default values and give it load priority? Edit: searched Descriptions in Files section of FO4Nexus and saw three plugins which specifically mention changing these times, maybe you have one of these.
  16. You're more likely to get help with this I think if you post in the right forum section. FYI if you want to move or remove your Thread here you can use the Report button - just nicely ask in the Report that your post be moved to: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/439-open-beta-feedback/ It won't be instant since a Staff member has to do this manually but it will probably be done within a day or two. Maybe the answer is already there in another thread. I realize this doesn't answer anything for you, I just don't have any real good idea what your issue could be. There's also a "known issues" section if you go back one level from the thread I linked - maybe your issue is already there. Good luck!
  17. Created this thread to provide a place to troubleshoot my HUD with a user having troubles. Thanks for reporting on this, I'm looking into it now. Well, I tested all configurations of my file while installing through NMM and using the fomod "installer". Everything checks out for me like it did before I uploaded this version. Could you please make a post Here with your load order? Reflex Dot shows up fine for me, as far as I know this is not affected by HUDMenu.swf . Maybe there is another issue with your installed mods, or my bungling edits of the HUDMenu are interacting badly with something you have installed. Maybe you'd be willing to try one or two other HUD mods, and see if your issues persist. http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/1151/2968141-1452640449.jpg
  18. I've plugged mine in every couple of years or so and played this, and Defender, Missile Command, Combat (if I've got a friend around) and Asteroids. Never really liked Space Invaders that much.
  19. Sublime, to pass time in rhyme.
  20. I tend to have more than one book going at once. I was recently loaned The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I'm only a couple of pages in but I see that I'll probably enjoy it. I've also got Lucky Starr and the Oceans of Venus - an old favorite - by Isaac Asimov (as Paul French) and Perelandra by C.S. Lewis in rotation.
  21. Older than the average. No surprise but everything's relative and I'll bet I can be just as childish as anyone here! Nyaahhh, phooey! Edit: wow, haven't seen asl in quite a while; could've gone longer I admit!
  22. Super Breakout on the family's Atari 2600. The sound effects alone are worth a nostalgic and happy sigh. Link: A commercial for the game that I found on Yougootuble, how fun!
  23. Use a towel, but then shower.
