  1. I have the same CPU at a slower speed, and a significantly weaker graphics card, and I can run on ultra settings with the HD DLC and no/almost no stutter. (Phenom II x4 955 at 3.2Ghz, and a 2GB GTX 660 GC) I assume you're not using graphics mods or ini tweaks. (many ini tweaks are actually harmful) Are you using multiple CPU heavy mods like Footprints, Birds of Skyrim, Immersive Patrols, Dynamic Fires, etc? It's pretty easy to overburden a Phenom II 955.
  2. My point is, everything mutates at least a bit through the generations. I think we're supposed to assume that either only FEV mutations would be targeted, or Bethesda just didn't plan it very carefully and we're supposed to not know that everything mutates as the mechanism of evolution.
  3. That's not a bug. Skyrim's engine is just too primitive to have every candle cast light for performance reasons. You can fix it on specific lights the way FiftyTifty suggested.
  4. As far as I know, it just breaks 2 quests. "A Brush With Death" and "Where Spirits Have Lease". At least, those are the only two that the Oblivion Wiki mentions. There's this mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/27352/? It turns the timescale back to default for those 2 quests, so they don't break, and it allows you to set your timescale to anything without having to re-enter it into the console all the time. It also allows the player to set different timescales for different actions (eg, a different timescale for quick traveling than walking), but those can be disabled if you don't want to use that feature. I used it for a while, and it seemed to work. I just stopped using it because I decided to get rid of every mod that I didn't really need.
  5. It may be an edit in Riverwood making you crash. Riverwood is first loaded into the game right around the time you fight those wolves. Keep in mind, some mods are not supposed to be cleaned. You're using a lot of mods with potential to conflict. Disable Immersive Riverwood and see if it crashes. If it still crashes, then reenable Immersive Riverwood. Then disable half your mods. Test again. If it still crashes, you know the conflict or bug is in the half you didn't disable. Continue disabling mods in smaller and smaller groups until you find out where the conflict or bug is.
  6. It would need a new skeleton, meaning the chance it'll happen is like 0.001%.
  7. Actually, that's exactly what a mutation is. So human evolution is a FEV mutation? Please explain that because I didn't get how that would occur in the game. It's a mutation. Not an FEV mutation, but still a mutation. You didn't say FEV mutation, you just said "mutation". Yes, human evolution is a mutation. Google is your friend.
  8. Yes, that's easily enough to cause microstutter. Even jumping 10 fps either way can cause microstutter if it's quick enough. Word of advice: Don't cap your framerate below 33. 35 is preferred. If you get too close to 30 in Skyrim's engine your game won't load or run properly. Where in the Skyrim.ini should that line be placed? It doesn't seem like my game slows down at 35 fps anyway, but I can test it.
  9. We have a clear difference of opinion, I really don't like the Book of Silence style. *shrug* Try them in game. If you don't like it you can always delete the textures. All the author's screens have a crappy ENB on them, so they're hardly representative of the final quality.
  10. Sorry to be blunt, but you won't be able to make a worldspace 3-4 times the size of Skyrim. Skyrim had like 300 people working on it, and it took 5 years. I've edited worldspaces, and it can take an hour to set up a single cell (while making it graphically impressive and realistic). There are 10,000 cells in vanilla Skyrim. Unless you've tried, you wouldn't believe how long everything takes. I suggest you go for something more realistic, like Solstheim sized. With a barren worldspace, you can then map out where stuff goes and decide if you need more space for your ideas, or if you're already struggling to fill all the land. I would help (I can make quests, AI packages, objectives and such, as well as textures), but I don't have the time, so good luck.
  11. Exactly what chanchan said.
  12. You generally can't upgrade laptop graphics cards. In rare cases, high end gaming laptops allow you to replace the graphics card, but not yours. WATER and the Skyrim Flora Overhaul are both large framerate drops. Better Dynamic Snow can be a framerate drop on weak PCs. Grass on Steroids can be framerate drop depending on how you tweak it. The author claims it increases fps, but that's uncommon and doesn't seem to work out for most people. Just so you know, checking the 'object detail fade' box increases fps outdoors slightly.
  13. It can be found non-levelled in certain dungeons. You never get it from draugr, but it can drop from ancient nord ghosts, and dragon cultists in I believe it can also be found laying around in a couple other dungeons.
  14. That graphics card is very bad. :/ We'll need a list of your plugins. You might be running some mods that are known to hurt performance. I suppose you could take a screenshot of your mod list with the print screen button, to save time. Do you use any HD textures mods or ENB presets? If you do, get rid of them.
  15. Actually, that's exactly what a mutation is. Having said that, it wasn't implied anywhere in the game that 'pure' humans would be harmed, so I guess we're supposed to assume that it would only kill FEV and radiation mutants.
  16. Not "banned". Bethesda simply didn't record the dialogue.
  17. first link is usless second one is usless third one is usless I can tell you're going to be a load of fun to have around... The tutorials he listed all have parts in them that you would need, even if the whole thing isn't all relevant.
  18. No, AMD cards are generally fine. I just prefer not to use them because they don't support PhysX, and because they tend to be less power efficient.
  19. Skyrim will *always* crash sometimes with too many mods to improve the graphics. The engine is crap. That said, this mod helps. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? You're fortunate that your motherboard has a 16x PCI-E slot. I didn't think it did at first. :s Now, to the actual question. Space is likely to be an issue with your PC. Staying within budget and getting the performance you want may not be possible. I'm going to list 2 possible builds for different levels of cost and performance. First build (low cost): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487025 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027 That comes to $220 total, and should fit in your case pretty comfortably. It will, however, perform a bit worse than a GTX 660. On the positive side, the power consumption and heat is extremely low, since the 750 TI uses the newest Maxwell architecture. Second build (high cost): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127772 That comes to $320 total. It should fit in your case just as well as the other option, but this will perform better than a GTX 660 TI. The downfall, ofc, is the higher price. I would have listed a middle option with a GTX 660, but I couldn't find any GTX 660s small enough to be sure they'd fit in your case. I mean, a 660 might fit in your case easily, but I just don't know because I can't find precise measurements of the open area of your case. Anyway, those are just possible suggestions. I don't know the exact size your case allows for video cards and PSUs and I'm not motivated enough to look, so I just picked parts meant for compact cases. Hopefully someone else can come along and give more accurate advice.
  20. Hmm... I can't get it to look as bad as it does in your screens. I get a few 2x2 or 3x3 jaggies if I stick my face right in a distortion effect, but nothing as bad as what you have. I suppose that would explain why SMAA didn't help significantly for you. :(
  21. They could bring lower power consumption but I very, very much doubt they would bring "far more power than anything today". Anyway... You seem to have misunderstood what I said. Individually, the 8xx series of cards so far shows increased performance over the 7xx series by 30-60%. Will a single 860 beat 2x 760s in SLI? Of course not, but that's not what I was saying. A single 8xx card will offer much more power than a single corresponding 7xx card. That's all I was saying. So although a 760 may not be a worthwhile upgrade over a 570, an 860 would be. (depending on what each person considers to be a worthwhile upgrade, ofc...)
  22. all questions regardless of what they may be are to be directed to the authors. http://skse.silverlock.org/ I do not use script extensions, I program the game to use it's own data, just take more time, that's all. Apologizes. Not a fan of breaking the game up. kitty SKSE does more than allow new scripts. The latest version also patches Skyrim's memory handling so the game can access more than 3GB without crashing.
  23. Skyrim isn't being updated anymore. 1.9.32.0.8 was the final patch, if I remember the version number correctly. Also, disabling the overlay does not prevent Skyrim from being updated.
