  1. Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me. Somehow, I keep thinking that I needed mtes4Manager to be able to successfully mod Nehrim as well. Do I?
  2. The biggest problem with relocating the neck seam is that you will have to remodel the head mesh and with that comes a lot more problems. Problems with the facegen mesh morphs, lipsync, animations, uvw mapping, and with that redo the facegen texture morphs and age mapping. Then you will have to remodel all the clothes and armor meshes to accomodate the new seam. Then redo all the headgear mesh morphs to be compatible with the new head mesh. I rather think the neck area is the optimal location of the model to have a seam, if it can't be helped. It has the least surface area on the model so it has the most minimal visual impact on things like seams. In my opinion, it's just a game engine limitation we'll have to deal with.
  3. There is mTES4 Manager to create and manage multiple copies of Oblivion. I haven't personally used it though. Maybe, I will soon; I've been wanting to play Nehrim but I don't want to give up my fully modded Oblivion setup.
  4. Ditto on the performance drop around multiple NPCs and RAEVWD Imperial City mod. Also running some OBGE shaders get a performance hit. Other than that I can say Oblivion runs pretty smoothly on today's decently spec'd rigs.
  5. That's all there is to it. You can even dump the WEPON fixes as they are already included in UOP Supplementals.
  6. You'll still need to install DirectX 9 as Oblivion is a DX9 game.
  7. Good luck with your re-installation. My only advice is try to get handy with Wrye Bash and BAIN installation. It gives you a whole lot more control over your mods (and lots of other benefits).
  8. I'm not so familiar with the options in OBMM now, I'm more of a Wrye Bash user but if it has an option for BSA Redirection, choose that. It has something to do with the loading sequence of BSAs and the loose meshes and textures from mods so it's also a candidate for those affecting the game's graphics. Found the article for it. -> LINK
  9. I know it's not caused by missing meshes or else a lot of WTF! I'm a missing mesh signs would show up in your game or just definitely crash it. It's somehow to do with graphics. Have you activated BSA Redirection in OBMM/Wrye Bash?
  10. Did you reinitialize Streamline in-game after editing the ini? Press Ctrl+Home to bring up the streamline menu Click on Special Actions > Reinitialize. Those are really weird glitches. I'm now not really sure if those are caused by streamsmooth alone. Though the ones regarding the floating torches may have been.
  11. You must probably be playing in third person. That would mean the crosshair is always on your toon. The focus on crosshair DOF is the crysisDOF option but you'll have to play in first person to get the most of it.
  12. BBen is right. Oblivion just handles actors differently and it has its limitations. It is not meant to be an RTS. Though, I admit, it would have been fun.
  13. Among your listed mods, a possible culprit i could think of would probably be wrong Streamline settings. Try disabling the streamsmooth feature and test if you're not having any problems. You may need to re-initialize streamline in-game. Also probably defragment your hard drive to minimize disk thrashing.
  14. You'll have to pick the Crysis-DOF shader for the cross-hair focusing to work, just disable the other DOF shaders after.
  15. The OBGE shader effect controls are in an inventory item. You'll best understand how to use it if you read the readme file included.
  16. Hopefully the bugs will get noticed and get fixed with updated drivers.
  17. That's from the flickering lighting and having self-shadows activated. It's nothing to be alarmed about. :)
  18. That sounds really weird. It doesn't seem to be exclusively GPU related and your gaming rig specs are quite capable. Have you considered it to be a corrupted saved game? Try starting a new character just to test it.
  19. You may have installed Oblivion in C:\Program Files\, which is a bad idea for those using Windows Vista and Windows 7, since the UAC will keep interfering with you adding and changing files in that folder. I suggest you install Oblivion in another place like C:\Games\ or better yet in another hard drive not hosting your operating system.
  20. You seem pretty handy with your gaming rig, just covering bases here, since you didn't mention it. Have you updated your DirectX 9? Oblivion looks good enough without the HDR. It's unfortunate the new Nvidia cards are buggy.
  21. They look great! I can't wait to get them in my game. :)
  22. I think it may be the AA + HDR bug. I'm not sure if it has been solved already though. @bben46: methinks OP meant problem is the dark grey screen behind chargen menu.
  23. I'm trying to optimize the nifs in my Oblivion-Meshes.bsa with PyFFI 2.1.9, Python 2.7.2 and the PyFFi Optimization Kit v7 in Win7x64 but somehow python just keeps spawning runaway processes that eats up into my RAM 'til it brings my laptop to its knees and then fails to complete the optimization. I have successfully optimized smaller batches of nifs like the ones in QTP3R. I was hoping to do the PyFFI optimization of the vanilla nifs in one go, but I think it's too much for my laptop to handle with all the runaway processes. I'm thinking of another approach to my problem with trying to do the PyFFI optimization in Linux since my laptop has a copy of Ubuntu on it. I'm hoping that python in Linux would be more stable than the one I'm using in Win7. I'm no Linux expert and I think I'll need to translate the batch files in PyFFI Optimization Kit to unix shell scripts to use them. I think I could do that with a little experimentation but I'm hoping that there is someone else here who might have been successful in what I'm trying to accomplish. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  24. I think Duke Patricks Combat Archery covers that and a lot more. Download link is at the mirrors tab.
  25. Regarding Archive Invalidation... BSA Redirection is the way to go nowadays. You can activate it either in OBMM or Wrye Bash. Another Wrye Bash zealot here, as well. But I don't mind repackaging mods in BAIN too much. By the way, if you're looking for BAIN packaged Darnified UI, you can find one here.
