  1. If I understand what you are looking for, take a look at Super Mutant Workshop, Children of Atom Overhaul, and A Small Addition. All those mods allow you to recruit super mutants, ghouls, children of atom, and army men. If that is what you are looking for then myself and BlahblahDEEblahblah can help.
  2. I used to think this too until I realized the following: The game is really meant to be played on survival mode in order for everything to really have weight and make sense. Food, water and shelter are provided at settlements and having pit stops across the map helps a lot in avoiding starvation, dehydration, death, losing a save, etc. They also have the bonus of expanding coverage for the flare gun and artillery support (if built nearby). That being said, there are two mods of interest: Minutemen Overhaul 2.0 and We Are The Minutemen with I think the Minutemen Overhaul 2.0 being the better one from what someone was saying when I was asking around. Some of the things mrudat mentioned could be implemented.
  3. It could be remodelled by someone and values reassigned to potentially become a ballistic musket. A test prototype could be the laser musket with the sound and projectile changed to get a feel for it.
  4. Do normal settlements work there (ie not set up for raiding)? It's meant to be a fun, Wild West single street like you would see in Tombstone or other western type movies. Let me know if the pages look right as I'm always looking to improve my craft.
  5. What is NV? I remember seeing an NVdebris.txt. The clutter trigger you are referring to was the SAE clutter raider trigger or something right? What does the EMSystemTurf do? Also, I run it in 1920 x 1080 on a 27 inch monitor. I believe the laptop does have the Samsung Evo 960 m2 ssd. I don't remember the system specs right now nor can I find all the parts lists I used to keep handy for all this technical stuff. :( I am running the Mushkin Reactor 1TB on this desktop though. When you say 4K resolution do you mean 4K textures? I'm not a PC elitist by any means, I just did a search to get some information on that and it would be ultra high definition I'm guessing? Personally I don't think the game looks all that bad on lower resolution textures. Mostly because I'm too busy to really care. lol
  6. I'm seeing a lot of map markers and a few things so what did you do? That way we have a better idea of what is going on behind the scenes. I think Jones will have the best answer as he/she has the before and after perspective. I am going to run a test on vanila launcher settings for low just to see how the system compares.
  7. Actually, I'll just copy and paste everything here thus far: Here are my Fallout 4 mods for you to look at: Genolune's Fallout 4 Mods I just want others to go through the mod pages (and mods if they are a modder) and see if my to-do list seems accurate and if the files are user friendly and let me know if you notice anything additional that needs to be done. The Children of Atom Overhaul I need to put out an experimental file for Kingsport Lighthouse and Mass Fusion Disposal, although the v1.3 I believe still has Kingsport Lighthouse. I just need someone to work the Minutemen questline to death to see if Taking Point: Kingsport Lighthouse will require you to kill the Children of Atom or if the setownedtrigger is good enough, or if you already own it via the setownedtrigger if the quest even comes up at all. List of my projects and status. Already Published 1. Slim, athletic Atomic Beauty Preset a) Take better screenshots or make a video showing how to use it? 2. Super Hero Bodies conversion of Improved Men's Harness a) Take better screenshots or make a video showing how to use it? 3. Institute Settlement a) Needs auto-load door? Is that essential or no? b) coc InstituteConcourse to get into Institute c) Move hatch when Quince99 is done with CIT Ruins Restoration to make it compatible 4. Jalbert Brothers Disposal Settlement a) May need additional work in the future for molerats, in case they respawn b) Are the screenshots good enough or does there also need a video? 5. Craftable tall, junk walls a) Add snap points? I think this is a moot point considering how close they can get normally plus snap points are a hindrance to walls on uneven or weirdly angled terrain. Otherwise, the mod is completely done! b) Are the screenshots good enough or does there also need a video? 6. Children of Atom Overhaul a) Add workshopstackable to all settlement objects b) Clean file c) Test file with Kingsport Lighthouse & Mass Fusion Disposal & Mass Gravel and Sand file d) Add Redeemer armor paint when changes are approved by mod author e) Waiting on permissions and other modders resources to integrate (if not, I'll go ahead on my own) f) Are the screenshots good enough or does there also need a video? 7. Improved Boston Airport a) Make sure build limit is unlocked b) Watch for early bugs that pop up with every new mod c) Are the screenshots good enough or does there also need a video? In progress 1. Dry Rock Gulch Settlement a) Possibly broken? Needs further investigation on Nuka-World issues. I think it was Caleb68 who tipped me off to some Nuka-World funkiness that affects regular settlements b) Workshopresourceobject needs to be added to water pumps? I'm trying to turn the static pumps into To be started 1. Super Hero Bodies Conversion of Crimsomrider's Cowboy Outfits a) Have permission 2. Super Hero Bodies Conversion of Elianora's Gunslinger Outfit a) Have permission See a theme here? I want to make a Wild West type pack of mods for fun and for the New Vegas lovers! 3, Owned - Own Diamond City a) Have permission, currently gathering information from SparrowPrince about what he/she did.
  8. It'll be an experimental feature. I'm unsure what effect having settlements at Kingsport Lighthouse and Mass Fusion Disposal will have on the quest Taking Point: Kingsport Lighthouse and one of the Operators Nuka-World extortion missions, respectively. I'd like to think that Bethesda wrote it so that if the settlement is already captured, then Minuteman quest won't activate or it'll auto-complete. Same things with the Nuka-World quest, I would hope that it wouldn't activate because it'll see the Super Mutant as dead and move onto the next one. That being said, that could be unrealistic expectations from this game. Both require extensive grinding to hopefully get the quest or be reasonably certain that it's safe to do.
  9. @jones177 You'll have to test all this on your rig as I had a hard time finding your locations. As far as the area left of the Church, where I was running around, this is on a vanilla installation, with the launcher automatically setting everything to Ultra High. I touched no settings. VRAM (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB) Min: 507MB Max: 2,171MB Average: 1,493MB CPU (i7-4790K 4.0GHz quad-core) Min: 5% Max: 53% Average: 27% Disk (1TB SSD, SATA 3 connection if I remember correctly on the connection) Min: 1MB/s Max: 147 MB/s Average: 37MB/s Memory (16GB DDR4) Min: 1,048 MB Max: 3,002 MB Average: 2,339 MB GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB) Min: 3% Max: 98% Average: 54% GPU Temperature ((NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB)) Min: 46 degrees Celsius Max: 59 degrees Celsius Average: 50 degrees Celsius Threads Min: 46 Max: 60 Average: 66 FPS Min: 50 Max: 60 Average: 57 Everything peaked while going left and doing some running, with the threads spiking initially (probably loading), then levelling out through testing. Hopefully all that data means something. Let me know if you need anything else, so I know when to set my stuff back to normal.
  10. I'm not sure, but I thought you could reach idolized state before Blind Betrayal but you wouldn't get his perk until the quest or something like that. Sometimes the admire/adore/idolize either fails to pop up or you miss it in battle. It's quirky at times.
  11. Does happiness actually affect the settlement at all? I've never paid much attention to notice the difference.
  12. It takes place by magic. I studied at the College of Winterhold and made Archmage within a week. ;)
  13. a) Other than what you are doing for jones177, what tests would you like me to perform on a vanilla installation? b) Any particular areas you want me to visit? c)Also, when I reset to vanilla, what settings should I use when the launcher detects hardware? Do you want the settings on Ultra to test it at its max load or something lower like medium? So my to-do list is: 1. Reset everything to vanilla 2. No script extenders, ENB, ini file tweaks, or mods 3. Set launcher settings to whatever you specify.
  14. I don't know about that. I'm on a 1TB SSD right now and the laptop I was using was an M2 SSD (which is supposed to be twice as face read & write speed as a regular M2). I think overall the whole system needs to be tuned, but if you want to go ahead and try to give a vanilla game run through for Purr4Me to help with, that would be great.
  15. I believe you mean Get Out Of My Face (Push Away Companions and NPCs) by cdante. It is a good one. Just be careful pushing people as I pushed Mother Isolde over the balcony in the Crater of Atom and killed her by accident. It wasn't even that high of a drop.
  16. Hopefully! You may have to reload before that just in case. So note to self, never use a fast travel mat at Boston Airport. I also uploaded a version where the Jersey Barricades are scrappable. Hope you like all the renovations I did. I couldn't repair the broken walls because the whole airport from the workshop wall forward is one mesh so the walls are fused to the floor.
  17. Definitely feel free to comment and let me know if I missed anything as I changed A LOT to get it up to par. I want to make sure that I fixed the map marker issue.
  18. In the words of Geralt of Rivia: "Sometimes... sometimes heads just roll."
  19. File is up for you two: Improved Boston Airport
  20. What speedy said. It requires a bit more work than I can do right now as I'm working on other mods. I don't want to overload myself.
  21. Personally, I would have liked for all 4 factions to come together. The Minutemen could be like National Guard / emergency relief, the Brotherhood as the actual military, the Institute as the science wing and the Railroad could be converted to the intelligence section, with everything under the CPG. In effect, an old world type, national government (the "nation" being the Commonwealth).
  22. @Purr4me Feel free to make whatever patches you want. I'll preface this by saying I haven't had any problems until recently when I tried to fly over Boston with Paladin Danse to the Prydwen. Last time I did that, was before any DLCs came out and with very few if any mods. I'm going to list all my research here. I don't have any information on Linux or Mac or other operating systems since I don't own them. INI fixes: BethINI I prefer to use this utility and then tweak it from there. It's by the same people involved in the Skyrim Total Enhancement Project (S.T.E.P.) and they've done extensive research into the variables in Bethesda .ini files. You can manually lower shadows and godrays even further since other than detailing, they add nothing major in gameplay to warrant their strain on the system. BethINI thread at S.T.E.P. should you wish to read that. Speaking of .ini files and tweaking there is the matter of Precombined References. I still don't know a whole lot about the technical details but the test you ran confirms that the game works better with it on. However, Scrap Everything and others require the bUseCombinedObjects=0 for reasons unknown to me at this time. Precombined References General Modding: Obviously, the more mods you use the more system resources you will use. I advise against a lot of high definition textures, and try to keep the amount of graphical objects added to that which you use most frequently as the game itself is already bloated. I unpacked all the texture .ba2 files for the Wasteland 512 experiment I ran and it totalled about 20 GB if I remember correctly. As mentioned in the Boston, will it ever be optimized, Bethesda placed a lot of items in each cell, sometimes partially hidden just to show things like part of a rock. All that information is data that adds to the strain on the PC. Textures Replacers: I recommend the following in order: Wasteland 512 (when properly replacing the .ba2 files this should be the least intensive on system resources because of how much is replaced) Texture Optimization Project (second option, replaces less than Wasteland 512, but still more than Vivid Textures) Vivid Textures (this is still pretty good but does not replace the majority of textures with more optimized ones, however it does give graphical enhancement and looks better than ones it replaces) Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate vs Windows 10 Pro Windows 10 had and maybe still has an issue with utilizing more than 4GB of VRAM. Windows 7 does not and is the preferred gaming operating system. The Creation Kit is much more stable on Windows 7 as well. The game itself may work better overall on Windows 7 since it was most likely developed on a Windows 7 platform. Desktop vs laptop & heating In the thread Multi-colored Rainbow Texture Bug, Purr4me and the others gave me some insight as to what was causing a multi-colored texture glitch. I was using the Wasteland 512 textures packed into a .ba2 format on the Windows 10 Pro laptop. When I swapped back to my Windows 7 desktop and used a single .zip file I had no issue. It could have been from heat issues or the .ba2 issue. I have yet to try to pack everything into .ba2 for a Windows 7 trial. I have had the game lock up due to either heating or hitting close to the 4GB cap on the Windows 10 platform. No heating issues with the desktop. Other framerate stuff: I haven't tweaked ENBoost for Fallout 4 yet, but I would recommend using an FPS limiter function to cap your frames at 60 because of Bethesda's tendency to tie things to the framerate. 23. Not exactly, I've been working on it for about an hour now. The Prydwen's marker is in the exterior, and exteriors are ruled by the parent Location data. In this case, the Prydwen is inside the Boston Airport Location which has all the settlement markers, etc. needed to tag it. Nothing can be done about that as that's how the game uses the Locations. I had that issue with Mass Fusion Disposal and Mass Gravel and Sand because someone at Bethesda tagged the Mass Gravel and Sand as inside the Location of Mass Fusion Disposal so it displayed the settlement statistics even though they were half the map apart. When you fast travel to the Map Marker it should send you to the marker designated as center if I remember correctly. I'll keep working on it.
  24. So basically you want the Prydwen's fast travel location to the Prydwen and the Boston Airport fast travel spawn point to inside the Boston Airport? I had put off fooling around with the Boston Airport but if you give me a day or two I can make some modifications. Basically, I want to do what you said, enlarge the build area, and swap the workbench to a regular workbench. Also, I want to look at what causes the Prydwen to give settlement stats on its map marker (probably wrong location set?)
  25. Where is Gene supposed to be? One could always try to get him to a fixed location in the Creation Kit possibly.
