  1. Just a hint for everyone. Do not use the fast travel from anywhere mod while still inside any building or you may break an upcoming quest. Go outside and make sure the game has assigned you a new quest, then it is safe to fast travel.
  2. I tried to look for the message that tells how to modify Witcher 3 so that the console will work regardless of the patch level but was not able to find it. Perhaps someone can help. It is a change in one of the game files, not a mod. Perhaps it is on the Steam forum site. I made those changes four patches ago and it still works.
  3. I am currently playing NG+ and Geralt is level 104. I am getting ready to start the end game quests for the main game and Blood and Wine. Is there any gain to play the game for a third time? I have installed the mod that raises the cap from level 100 to level 200.
  4. What I have been told is that if you have Witcher 3 release 1.31 and both DLC's then GOTY does not give you anything new.You probably see the GOTY announcement on the screen that you start the game from (Geralt is kneeling by his two swords with a barn in the background). That is where mine says 1.31.
  5. Perhaps a little more explanation would be useful and without the swear words please. I am playing NG+ with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine with lots of mods, Geralt is level 102. I have not run into that. I always start the game from Nexus. Nexus is not capable of removing either DLC, has no access to it. Some specifics please.
  6. This thread does make me smile. One nice thing about this game is that you can play your quests in any order you want. I am now playing NG+ and I had completed Hearts of Stone and most of Blood and Wine before finishing the actual game the first time through. I met Yen long before I met Triss and, of course, I told her that I loved her. Forgot that when I met Triss so I told her the same thing. Thus I ended up with the threesome and Geralt being alone. This time I wanted Geralt to end with Triss, I find Yen too snippy and condescending for my taste. Geralt and Triss went up to the lighthouse and had their little romp and I have told Yen I don't want her any more (that actually was kind of hard to do). One change I have seen is now when I get messages delivered to me, they are coming from Triss (last time they were generic). In my world, Ciri will be Empress, the sisters will reunite and Geralt will live happily ever after with Triss.
  7. It is odd how some mods that have absolutely nothing to do with each other have conflicts. For instance I have Slots Slots Slots installed and working. It conflicts with many other mods that have nothing to do with mutagens, an example is Witcher gear that levels with me. Script merger sees no problem but the Red Game compiling stops and says there is a problem with Slots. If I turn Slots off then there is no problem. Oh well, I have several mods I can't use because of conflict with Slots.
  8. Geralt just received this silver sword in NG+ (in Blood and Wine) and it seems to have some pretty good stats. It hits 10% harder every time you hit someone and if you kill your opponent when the sword has max stats, it will increase damage permanently. And it apparently levels with you. It is not a mod but is part of the game. It starts out better than my Legendary Grandmaster Manticore silver sword. Haven't had a chance to fight anyone yet so do not know the answers myself. The Rune Master was able to add some slots to it so I was able to add a rune to it. So I am wondering, is there any better silver sword in the game? It already is better than anything I can craft (or own) at the moment. It has no inbuilt magical ability, such as +50% chance for a critical hit. But at an increase of 10% for every hit, when it hits for the tenth time that is a guaranteed critical hit. Geralt is level 98 if that makes any difference.
  9. I just downloaded a list of console commands from this forum and have not tested it yet. Try this command and see if it helps, type "stoprain" at the ~ without the quotes.
  10. This is not the answer you are looking for but when I restarted in NG+ and encountered the same quests again I obviously answered them differently because the game played differently and the quests did not take me in the same direction.
  11. Then I can't help you because I didn't let Ciri die. Hopefully someone else can help.
  12. I have Witcher version 1.31 and both expansions, am currently playing NG+. Does GOTY give me something I don't already have?
  13. You can sell all the non-witcher armor and weapons. Also check your runes, you can sell the excess of those as well. I have found that I really don't need more than six of any one type of rune. Also go through your other menus to see what you have. Do you have 100 bear pelts? Sell them. How about jewelry, rings, silver platters, etc? Other miscellaneous stuff? How about alcoholic beverages in your food panel? Yes, they can replenish your health but at the cost of disorienting you for a while. Hard to fight if you are seeing double images.
  14. Where is Mos.settings? Perhaps some work there will fix the mods I have that do nothing.
  15. If those are the only mods that would have any impact, have you turned them off and started the game to see what happens? The Leveling Witcher Gear stopped working for me sometime after starting NG+. My armor dropped back to level 40 and the swords jumped to level 86, but that is my problem and not the answer to your question.
  16. The bad ending is the one where Ciri dies. You sure that you want that save? She can beat the crones without dying. It's not easy though. To your question. I have been playing NG+ for about a month now and a save before Ciri faces the crones is from many weeks ago. Not sure I can find it. And it may have been a quick save and not a manual save, so it would be lost by now.
  17. You can do quests in any order, stopping and starting at will. Just a couple things to be aware of. The main quests will wait for you (in fact, all quests will do that) and not be aware that several days may have passed, they will take off exactly where you left them. When you complete the game you can continue to play but some quests will disappear. So do as many side quests as you want before starting the end games quests. The other thing is that if a quest is too far below your level when you start it, your experience will be very small. For example, if you get a quest when you are level 20 and do it then, completing the quest could give you many hundreds of experience points. But if you go back to it when you are a level 30, you will probably only get one point. This comment also applies to main game quests. My understanding is that the quest level should be within five levels of your character for maximum reward. Personally, I like to do the Treasure Hunts because this gives you access to Witcher gear. BTW, completing the main game will have no effect on the two expansions. They will play the same whether you have finished the main game or not.
  18. Also, after rescanning for new games, make sure that you select each one it finds or it will not be on the menu. Once you have found all the games, stop the scan because it will run forever.
  19. 1.Monster treasure is generally random, though some treasure will always be there. If it is needed for a quest, for example. Treasure chests are random, again the exception is if a needed item for the game is in the chest. That item will always be there. 2.Some items you will find the documents that show how to make them as you explore, armor and weapons for example. The higher level the shopkeeper is will determine what you can buy there. For example, master crafted armor and weapons can only be gotten from a master blacksmith or armorer. You will have to find them. Not every alchemy or general store will have every item and some specialty items will only be available at specific stores. 3.Monsters do not level as you do, they will stay the same level. However, you can find harder monsters as you travel about. They don't level as you travel. If your Witcher is level 5 and you go up to the Northeast corner of Velen you will find level 20 or higher monsters (don't go there as a noobie). But if you return as a level 40 Witcher, those monsters will still be level 20. 4.You can use any weapon or skill that you have the right level to acquire. If you are level 10 then you cannot use level 20 equipment. All skills are generally available to you at the start of the game, what you develop is your abilities with them. 5.No permanent companions. The characters that are part of the story will come and go as their quests bring them. You will have quests with Yenefer, Triss, Ciri and other characters but none will stay with you. 6 and 7 are related and the answer is a very definite YES. Many quests give you a choice on how to finish them and how you finish the quest can impact something you do later. Some dialogue choices are VERY important and WILL affect the game later on. One example (and I will not give you a spoiler) is that the Witcher loves two sorceresses, Triss and Yenefer (you find this out very early in the game). There are several points in the game that the Witcher can tell one, or both, that he loves them and how he handles that will determine the end of the game. There are also some dialogue choices that have a timer and you only have a few seconds to make your choice. If you don't choose in time, the game chooses for you.
  20. It is in Blood and Wine, I don't have the exact name or location available right now because have started NG+ and have not progressed that far yet. If you get the entire map for Toussiant (spelling?) on screen it is roughly mid screen and in the upper half of the area.
  21. I do like this mod because it gives my witcher more power but it seems to conflict with almost every mod. Even mods that have nothing to do with mutagens. Script merger sees nothing wrong but the Red Game compile does. I just tried to add the mod that levels witcher gear (tried this several times) and the Red Game compile still flags slots slots slots as the problem. Any suggestions? Other than getting rid of Slots Slots Slots?
  22. I have been trying to get the debug console working and following all the helps and suggestions to no avail. Downloaded with NMM and downloaded manually. Put it into the mods folder, put it into the bin/x64 folder along with dsound.dll and could never get it to work. So I gave up until I found the directions to modify "user". That was simple and worked like a charm. Took only a minute or two. Since you need to know a little more about the PC it might be a little intimidating. For instance, I could not do anything with "user" and "user.settings" until I added the .txt at the end "user.settings.txt", then there was no problem. Just make sure to remove that before running the game.
  23. I am not a programmer so please keep that in mind. I have used the script merge program successfully when it compiles completely. But what do I do when it fails to compile completely? The last time I used it, it resolved 42 of 43 problems and highlighted the line it could not finish in yellow in three windows. What does that mean and how (or can I) fix it? I unchecked the last mod I added and the problem went away.
