  1. I've recently downloaded "All Settlements Expanded" and, since it gives you all of Jamaica Plain as a build site, decided to restore the whole town. I thought it would be useful to have the two Protectrons on patrol so I released them, deleted their charge pods and off they went killing ghouls. However after a couple of days they shut down and even if I spawn ghouls they don't wake up. Is there any way , possibly via console command, to make them permanently powered up ?
  2. Preston dies and no settlements are ever marked on maps. Codsworth continues cutting the hedge till his energy cell gives up. Cait dies at 30 in her last Combat zone fight, Curie continues to wait for Vault Tec to show up. Billy waits in the fridge.
  3. I didn't know how to do this so I just banished my NPC to Red Rocket to starve or hopefully be shot. When I tried to steal the fusion core the entire settlement opened fire on me, and I had armed them all with Recon Overcharged Laser Sniper Rifles. I had to run.
  4. I've had a similar problem for over a year to the extent that I cannot start a new game since I either get stuck in the cryo pod or can't leave the vault. Luckily I have a past save from when I get to Concord so I have to start from there. I used to have Vault 111 as a Settlement (which worked fine) and I tried deleting both it and Vault 1080 but nothing worked.
  5. Idea 1: Make a level 1 shop near the edges of your settlement or in whatever the "low rent district" of it is. Put someone scruffy looking there, and decorate with scrap and rubbish. Make a level 3/4 shop of the same kind in the center of your settlement or in whatever the "high society" part of your settlement is. Put someone in clean, fancy clothes there (or a level 4 merchant), with the place decorated like a top-end store. Use a shop mod that allows use of other than the stock store for the fancy place, and give it a nice sign from one of various signage mods. Now you've got two shops of the same type, but that are very different shops. It's like comparing an inner city pawn shop to a downtown megastore. They may both sell the same category of stuff, but they're very different stores. Idea 2: Use different signage to subdivide shop types. Put in two "bars", but give one a Pub sign and one a Grill or Restaurant sign, that kind of thing. Sure, mechanically they sell the same stuff, but thematically they're two different types of stores using the same vanilla category. I usually have a Bar/Restaurant and a separate Drug Den with a Vault Tec soda fountain to help the mood.
  6. "B. I am hoarding tons of power of power armor in Sanctuary Hills (about 50 to 60). Will that crash the save game? I fully upgraded them and apply all the paint jobs on them." In my first few playthroughs I used to outfit all settlers in modded combat armour, even mounting raids on Gunners just to get their armour. Later I got bored with outfitting them and stored it. I found that after settlements like Sanctuary had got to a certain level of complexity the game would CTD if I tried to mod combat armour. I did a check and found I had about 30 sets of armour at Sanctuary ! When I took it all out and scrapped it, no more CTD's. It sounds as though that may be the source of your problem. I do not think combat armors will crash the game. Probably mod conflicts. Power armors I will store it at Diamond CIty Home Plate (I am a hoarder I hoard weapons as well). I will leave a few essential mods on. 1. Tales of the Commonwealth 2. Fusion CIty Rising 3. Outcasts and Remnants 4. Ellen the Cartographer 5. Heather Casdin 6. Unlimited Companion Framework All those quests which I have completed and did not add anything substantial or unique I will uninstall. Stored combat armour may not crash your game but everyones game is different and in my game it certainly did. The reason why it happened in settlements which were more complex was because i tended to store more armour there. My current main base is Concord with 46 beds and 25 settlers but i have had no ctds there. I dont value Power Armor and sometimes leave it with a fusion core in for caravan guards to steal or just scrap it. I did have regular CTDs at Sanctuary when I tried to exit power armour but these stopped when I scrapped the combat armour.

  8. I would love that mod ! I was playing the game last night under the influence of a few glasses of wine and it occurred me that what we really need is a mod to get companions drunk. Seriously you take Cait to the Shamrock Taphouse and she comes out of it sober ? Or be able to command Cait to attack Preston !
  9. The thing Preston did - all the companions do it but maybe it's my imagination but he seemed to do it more - is to walk up to you and stick their face right into yours. I can't fathom how whoever wrote their AI thought this was a tolerable way for "people" to behave. It is completely infuriating regardless of their other qualities. I really wish there was a mod which allowed me to punch them in the face when they do it.
  10. Since I only picked one last night my other two would probably be Synths-Terminators https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17585 You get some really cinematic moments with this , like the scene where Kellogg is facing 3 of them in the dream scene ! and What's Your Name - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25321 which has saved my life since the demise of Don't Call Me Settler.
  11. The British Are Coming https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11703 Changes that hideous repetitive violin music on Radio Freedom for British marching music.
  12. Concord Township is a bit tricky to get working but I currently have 10 houses , 12 shops and a large hotel. In total 54 beds and 25 settlers at the moment. Not all of the houses are habitable in the mod so I have scrapped 2 of them and replaced them.. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22547
  13. The problem with the idea of Amari having been part of the Institute is that as we saw with Virgil a) they wouldn't let her go and b) If she escaped they would send a Courser to bring her back or kill her. Plus she has no idea that the Institute uses teleportation or come to that any knowledge of it whatsoever.
  14. I've raised this point before , but in the story Father is dying of cancer. Leaving aside the fact that he is head of a highly advanced scientific organisation which is apparently incapable of curing cancer, why couldn't the Institute get Dr Amari to upload his consciousness into a fresh Synth body and thereby "technically" save his life ? Objections to this are typically that Dr Amari "wouldn't do it" but the Institute would surely be able to compel her to do it or at least divulge HOW to do it. Since the memory loungers and Amari's computers appear to be pre war antiques I don't think the Instutute would have any problem copying them.
  15. Well here's a funny thing...recently started another playthrough and Gage is back to being a man.
  16. I have had this happen before and it usually seems related to Scrap Everything which has to be last in the load order. As soon as I move it to last, the scrapped stuff disappears.
  17. There's a mod which restores this building and I use it but I have never had any issues with settlers. Once I have liberated it, I install several beds, 5 Eat O Tronic machines for food, and two Vault Tec slot machines plus a large number of Gauss Bubble Turrets for defence. Happiness goes straight to 100% when the 2 settlers turn up and I kit them both out with N7 armour and powerful weapons, assigning one to a guard post and the other to scavenging. That's it
  18. Here's one I made earlier   https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/99152
  19. Another thing bothers me about the showdown with Kellogg. He has 3 synths with him, you have (vanilla) one companion. When you question him, he will not reveal where the Institute is, or Shaun's status within it. Why ? If he he kills you it makes no difference to him that you die with that knowledge. If you kill him , it makes no difference to him that you know where the Institute is and that Shaun is the director. If it was real life I would have tried to just knock Kellogg out and then torture him for the information and for revenge of course.
  20. When you think of the quantity of material which would be excavated to build the Institute , I would like to know "where did it all go ?". And why, when both the Railroad and the Minutemen found the sewer entrance to the Institute on the holotape scan, didn't Proctor Quinlan find it ?
  21. I do have the problem that settlers seem to turn up already equipped as traders but I can still click "Trade" to give them stuff and assign them to other jobs. Have you tried the console command "settler ID number".openactorcontainer 1 to equip them ?
  22. Hi everybody, in my efforts to repair Concord in the Concord Township mod, I have hit a snag. The building on the left (Wrights Bar) is not scrappable using Scrap Everything but I can delete it using console command. However , if I do the buildings in the background and some of the terrain either flickers or disappears temporarily. I have had this problem in the past when deleting rock formations in Vault 88 but I wanted to know if there is any solution to this. The bar is sort of usable as it is but I want it to be perfect. Any ideas ? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/101160
  23. I have always thought that pressing the resst button is a bad thing. Using Task Manager doesn't do any harm to your PC.
  24. Your GPU is (No offence) a bit of an antique. I would suggest getting something more up to date ?
  25. This isn't going to help you much but my game has frozen to point where I have to use Task Manager to close it down when I go into that area, even when I fly over it in a Vertibird. The only way I have found round it is to go into TCL as soon as I reach the area and hope that my destination will let me click on the door or whatever. As soon as I get inside a building it is ok. When I leave the building I either use a COC console command or hit TCL the split second I get through the door.
