  1. Maybe if you provide more information a Vortex veteran will help. What game are you trying to mod? Can you log in to the Nexus with Vortex? Where is your Vortex mod folder located? Try starting the game before using Vortex.
  2. I don't like Vortex either, but there is no reason to believe that Dark0ne or other site managers are acting in bad faith. A premium membership in the Nexus is still the best deal in town. In fact the one thing that would ease my torment over Vortex and the "New Nexus" is if the changes did indeed generate more revenue for what is still my favorite site.
  3. Are the .esps in your data folder? Might take a while for Vortex to wake up.
  4. Latest GitHub NMM community version: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases If you can sign in to the Nexus with it please tell us how you did it. Currently, after trying all the fixes, I can only manually install mods with it.
  5. There's a patch that might help towards the bottom of the page. You might want to read the thread too. https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/issues/654 If the patch works and you want to continue using the no longer supported NMM I would turn off auto updates for SSE. I've just begun trying out Vortex.
  6. I hear the CK just can't handle too many changes to the head. Temporarily removing the face tint folder while making changes in the CK is the only solution that mostly works for me. Would love to hear about other solutions though.

  8. You need to be using a memory patch like this:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305 SKSE has a memory patch built in, but you still need to set it up. If it's a simple mod incompatibility run your load order through TESEdit to find.
  9. I have all my mods and games on my 'D' drive and the shortcuts on my 'C' drive (desktop). Trying to conserve your SSD drive?
  10. All vanilla Bethesda games are crap compared to modded Bethesda games.
  11. Will there be mod support for an online only game?
  12. DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 Skyrim/data/SKSE
  13. Hmm, for some reason I thought you were using SKSE already. You don't need it if you don't care to use the in game config for Open Cities, but it's required for many other great mods and has the .ini with the memory patch if you add the lines I posted above. SKSE link: http://skse.silverlock.org/ v1.7.3 . I use the, install via Steam option, But you can install it manually too. Once installed you will find the SKSE .ini file here: Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data/SKSE The memory patch is the single best thing you can do to stabilize your game. If you you're not comfortable with the idea of using SKSE yet here's a mod with the memory patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305
  14. Use this link: http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html Scroll down until you see v0.319 and download it. I always just use the latest version. Install the wrapper version to the Skyrim root folder. You will now have an enblocal.ini in your Skyrim folder. This is what you will edit for your pc setup.I would follow this guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#INI_Configurations Here's a link to the VRam size test app:http://enbdev.com/download.htm You'll probably have to try different settings 'til you find what works best for your rig. ENBoost is an enb without the graphics to maximize performance. I have a beast for a rig, but still use a lot of work arounds to get Skyrim to use as much of my ram and vram as possible. Make sure your SKSE.ini has these lines: [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Open Cities is a wonderful mod so I hope you can get it working!
  15. You need the SKSE memory patch and probably ENBoost too.
  16. What helped me create better looking characters was using the race sliders in Race Menu. Nords have a weird chin to jaw transition, but if you add some Breton racial characteristics it smooths out very nicely.
  17. Here's a link to a thread about the grey face bug, but the long post is really about getting modded faces to stick: https://bethesda.net/community/topic/65972/help-needed-to-fix-the-dark-faces-bug/8 One of the tips that really helped me to make my simple mostly vanilla edits was removing the tintmask folder before making any edits in the CK. Also you might want to reverse engineer one of the successful npc re-placer mods with TESEdit to see what kind of hoops they had to go through to get there mods to work.
  18. Which mod? Sounds like you haven't met all the requirements for the mod you're trying to use.
  19. You must have missed a step. Did you batch build all the outfits? You might actually have your body underneath an unmodified prisoner outfit.
  20. Might be one of the "Remodeled Armosr for CBBE" with zaps. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25259/?tab=description
  21. Use the old site: https://old.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/searchresults/?src_order=4&src_sort=0&src_view=1&src_tab=1&src_language=0&src_showadult=1&ignoreCF=0&page=1&pUp=1
  22. Should be permanent: https://old.nexusmods.com/?
