I was never rude, so I'll give that advice back at you. You did not mention 'sometimes'. You never implied that there were more options. By mentioning only one of many outcomes you imply that that's the only way to use flags, which is false. But it's OK, no need to apologize I guess, well, maybe for showing so much entitled behaviour. Now, go away please ? Thank you !
-
don't be rude and stay out of other people's conversation please ? thank you. and yes it does.
-
Yes you did Sjeez, my first post was on the 25th of may and then after three months you showed up. Please get your timing correct I think you should get off your high horse and leave me alone if you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the matter
-
It happened three months ago, I can't remember, haven't done a lot of modding since Oh but it IS relevant, because we didn't have that stupid ambiguous warning That's not confusing at all since I've used FOMods for years and all without a fancy automaton thingy, but what's interesting is the part : " It used to be necessary to add a special option (flag) to the file to install plugins in Vortex. This has been deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore." You see, I didn't get that memo apparently. How was this information spread, because without this crucial part the whole warning is totally useless since the warning itself doesn't say anything about what is deprecated and what action people should undertake to make it work Also, a flag in a FOMod installer can also be a sort of a switch to help you guide through the more bigger FOMod installers. The flags are not necessarily only for installing plugins
-
I know all that, I use FOMod all the time or create them for other mod authors. I have never had a message saying I should change my FOMod because it's outdated. Ever. And where is the MO2 way different from the Vortex way of using a FOMod ? This : " the mod that produced this message still has the configuration options (a.k.a. "flag") that differentiate the plugin install between Vortex and MO2. " is Chinese to me. " whereas the old Vortex option can cause problems. " What old Vortex option ? What problems specifically are we talking about ? " but sometimes it is not able to correct the install for various reasons. " It would be a first to have a FOMod fail because of shenanigans like this, never encountered any of this. " It is certainly confusing, but the message is helpful in letting you know that there may be an issue with the mod and what to do about it. " It sure is and no, it does not help at all, it confuses people even more.
-
" Deprecated Fomods Vortex detected 1 FOMODs which are using the deprecated Vortex plugin option. This option is no longer required and will cause the FOMODs to deploy incorrectly. Vortex will attempt to fix the FOMODs for you and it is recommended to inform the mod author to change his configuration file and remove the Vortex flag. Alternatively you can re-install any affected FOMODs manually and select the MO2 plugin option instead. " Can someone explain this to me ? - Which mod ? - What Vortex plugin option exactly are we talking about ? - We have to manually click the "fix" button for the file te be installed, else it will just "sit" there. - Aren't all the mod authors brought up to date of this issue, because we need to inform the mod author about this - What is a Vortex Flag ? - What's the difference with the MO2 plugin option ? This is all very confusing and unnecessary imho cheers -=DD=- [edit: fixed typo]

Why can't we delete our own comments but Mod Authors can?
DarkDominion replied to hysjr's topic in Debates
@ Hydshd , Ermm :ermm: say what now ? Also, your mistake by thinking IA and IW both having MCM is not a problem for me ( it was for @kezardinjnr ). No, your entitled behavior was from before that. Saying the mod needing an update because you thought the textures were "mediocre" and not "from this time" and the mod wasn't updated in years so you thought that was a good enough reason to update it. I reported you for that, and apparently that was enough for @kezardinjnr or the moderators to take your comment down, which of course would result in mine being taken down as well. :) You can't seem to get how your behavior is being viewed on the Nexus, which is strange, seeing as that two of your comments were taken down. My advice is to read the Policies and Guidelines and the ToS so you know what is expected of users on the Nexus. Schöne Grüße -=DD=- ( oh, and no, I'm not from Maastricht  ) -
Why can't we delete our own comments but Mod Authors can?

@ Hydshd , If you visit a mod page you are a guest, the mod author is free to moderate their own page as they see fit. You are not entitled to anything, not to updates, not to getting answers to your questions and most certainly not to be able to say anything you want. The mod author is the one ( and the moderation team from the Nexus also ) that decides what goes and what not, locking threads or deleting them or even block you from that mod or all of their mods. Some use that power like they are a dictator of some sort, most of the mod authors are fair in their moderation of their own page. The way you are commenting on the IA mod is indeed reason for moderation. Read the policies, guidelines and the ToS from the Nexus and see why that is. Cheers -=DD=- -
Grrr.... Forum wont let me post my answer, I'll send you a DM Cheers -=DD=-

Thanks Picky :) Ok, and how to add something to the "About Me" , i.e. where's the tab for that ? Because there is no "About Me" tab. Is it the "Profile Feed" , if so : there is no editor for it. On the subject : The page throws a 401 on the submission of the data from the signature + Unable to retrieve signature image dimensions: Post https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=signature 401and Failed to find a valid digest in the 'integrity' attribute for resource 'https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.min.js' with computed SHA-256 integrity 'FgpCb/KJQlLNfOu91ta32o/NMZxltwRo8QtmkMRdAu8='. The resource has been blocked. Both are from index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=signature:1 Hope this helps :) Cheers -=DD=-

I tried that, multiple times, didn't work. Also, if I now try to enlarge the text under the image, it comes back with the same warning And I can upload it here the same way. Only with the signature image it doesn't work. Totally weird

Henlo Picky I hope you can help me.... I'm trying to change some stuff in my signature, but now it won't accept my image. Funny thing is, it already was part of my signature, but for some reason when changing something else it isn't accepted anymore. I want it at the top-center of my signature with "- = Evil Little Furball Kitten = -" right under it. ( I have attached the image to this message ) Tried different online image storage sites ( it was linked to Imgur : https://i.imgur.com/zmhRi70.jpg ) Tried different images Tried different ways of displaying it. But I did read some other users having had this same issue... Again, hope you can help me Cheers -=DD=-
