For mods, try looking in the top files or look under the categories for the types of mod you are looking for. Everybody has their recommendations, so if you ask in that forum, expect to be bombarded. If you tell me who the person is that held a gun to your head and forced to buy the game, download mods against your will, and install said mods for a game you ended up hating, yet were forced to play, and subjected you to the "Clockwork Orange" treatment to view the spoiler vids, I will hunt them down so you may enact your revenge upon them....

Your title threw me off for a minute because until about 15 months ago, "modding" referred to the making of mods, not the act of adding mods to a game. And, some of the long time mod makers still refer to the making of mods that way. Any the how, nice survey you have.

The surest way to have it exactly like you want it is to learn the CK and do it yourself....

I've had that problem at times, also. I ended up saving not far from the Sanctuary, then fast traveled the last few hundred yards. Usually it worked, sometimes, not. One other thing that worked; since I normally play in first person, I walked up looking at the ground a few feet in front of me until I got to the door. Later in the game, things seemed to be fine. Might not work for you, but most anything is worth a try....
