  1. It only resets stats if you change race and, that being said, it only changes your "racial bonuses" (+5/-5). I wish there was a barber implemented, especially after Fallout. Also, I think Skyrim is a HUGE improvement in character graphics over Fallout and Oblivion. The game takes place in Skyrim so people are SUPPOSED to look haggardly and dirty. Also, if you don't like the dirty textures then there is already a mod to fix that on the Nexus.
  2. Hold the "use" button on your companion and you can order them to do certain tasks. Not quite as deep as Fallout but it's pretty decent. I think they wanted to keep it simple. Anyways, agreed on the whole backstory and depth aspect. I'd like to know more about them and wish they had more character.
  3. Indeed. No doubt modding this stuff will be enormous. Personally, I think we'll see a TON of companion mods due to how they're implemented in the game (Bethesda did it right).
  4. You could also check the Companions base, I think thats where she might default to.
  5. What it will do is modify the initial racial skills. For example, an Imperial has +5 to one-handed swords (or something) and when you change to Elf you'll lose that +5 bonus and get something else.
  6. I could be wrong but who really knows if that list has 100%? Is it from a guide (hope so)? Regardless, kinda sucks, but there will be mods to fix that, no doubt.
  7. Agreed. It met my expectations.
  8. A couple of these now. Also, check the wiki: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2228222
  9. Eventually, I think it'll happen. However, until we get TES and some tools, I think it might be a while.
  10. Bestiality? My Argonian friend will likely be offended! /jk
  11. It's Bethesda, they've been improving on the previous games for YEARS to get here. I think its a MUCH better design strategy rather then just re-inventing everything each release. It DOES feel a bit like Fallout... but in an awesome and unique way. I think you just need to play it more, Skyrim is SOOOOO much more then Fallout.
  12. I think that second bed is always "owned" as it's a "guest" bedroom for NPC companions.
  13. This game needs Fallout's "VATS" targeting system, especially for mages and archers! Otherwise, you'll just need to be careful.
  14. I miss the old button hotkeys too. I like the favorites but it should be an addition, not a replacement. Also, I cannot even assign my favorites correctly because the interface is messed up ("F" or "Q" doesn't save favorites UNLESS I am in a chest). How do you assign hotkeys from favorites? Regardless, it needs a little work.
  15. A few skinning/texture mods but the TES isn't released yet. You'll probably have to wait for that to really start seeing some improvements. We really need more hairs, skins, and presets :)
  16. I like everything you guys have posted: UI, mining = smithing, face presets, unarmed fighting, and more weapons. Also, I'd love to see more character customization options (face AND body), more things to craft and create, more armor/weapon variety (everyone seems to be wearing the same stuff to a point), bonuses to some clothing (speech or crafting, though this could probably be enchanted). Luckily, I'm sure all of this will be patched or modded. You mustn't of played Fable 3, lol. That had an AWFUL interface, what was Peter thinking! Personally, I think the equipment UI needs the most work. It's certainly not the worst but it needs much work. tbh, Bethesda has never been too fantastic about interfaces in their games.
  17. This only works for the race design stuff (body, head, face, hair, race...). Does not effect skills or perks or anything. The Fallout series is the only other Bethesda game that had the ability to re-do your character and Fallout didn't have eight races. Just use "showracemenu" if on PC. Someone will mod it.
  18. The Jarl's main advisor guy, they are the city managers it seems.
  19. Yeah, I'd try getting them to arrest you in front of the Argonian, maybe that'll reset the fella. Go steal an apple.
  20. Minecraft's resource gathering and crafting... oh, and totally took dragons, lol. Fable's marriage system. Harvest Moon's farming and house upgrading. Not really but I love the innovation in this game. They took all our favorite mods and made it vanilla. What are the modders going to do?
  21. ... Don't do it? Anyways, agreed, it's kind of a mistake to leave that in there. They should keep companion's gold private (unless your married).
  22. Agreed, the UI needs a little work. However, it's not outside the range of a patch if we complain enough, I think it'd be an easy fix. Also, at least it's better then Fable 3's interface... I can't stand accidently closing my inventory, storage, and shopping due to a misclick or hitting the wrong key or the game not updating what hotkey does what or the hotkey conflicts. GRRRrr!
  23. Is your hard drive like 4000 RPM or something? Is it almost full? Skyrim should be loading in seconds on the PC. I usually don't even have time to read the transition screens, lol.
  24. Also, I don't know if EVERYONE got CoD4 through STEAM where-as Skyrim is VIA STEAM. I'm absolutely positive more then 79k people are playing Black Ops, lol.
  25. Have to agree, wish I could see my body in 1st person :(
