  1. I forgot corn was in Oblivion, so by all means, "let them eat corn."
  2. I have seen in-game pics posted here on Nexus, and have encountered NPCs (I run a lot of mods) in the game sporting "Mohawk" hair, so someone has created such a hair style. I am not sure if it's available to player characters in any particular mod, though.
  3. And I forgot to mention the excellent "Witcher 2 Style Dawnguard and Standard Heavy Plate" mod by Baraban, which is great for Medieval style armor with a realistic worn and lived-in look.
  4. I am not a modder, but would also like to see someone create a Skyrim follower based on Kahlan Amnell from the Sword of Truth (Legend of the Seeker TV series). Simply making her a Spellsword priest/Restoration Mage would be good enough, without trying to replicate all her magical powers. I have seen several requests for her white Confessor dress and traveling outfit, and someone has gone as far as making meshes for both those outfits, as I have commented on in this thread: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/850575-new-outfit-kahlan-amnell/ There are some very talented modders here on the Nexus, and it would be great if someone took up this challenge.
  5. Someone was working on a mesh for the Confessor's travelling armor (from the Legend of the Seeker TV series) you are requesting a while back, but the last post on that was in July last year. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/742380-confessor-wardrobe/ I am no modder, by any means, but would like to also see somone try their hand at making Kahlen’s white Confessor dress. I have seen other requests for this dress, for example: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/682553-legend-of-the-seeker-kahlan-amnell-outfit/ Someone has gone as far as making a mesh for the dress, but it apparently has not been fleshed out into a mod yet: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/264934 There are some talented people here on the Nexus, and I noticed a similarity in dress style with the Elven Dresses mod by Naihaan, which look like Arwen’s dress from the LOTR movies.
  6. Have you seen the the "Witcher 2 Style Dawnguard and Standard Heavy Plate" mod by Baraban? It has more historical European Medieval plate armor sets, with good leg protection and without the the "loin cloth". It might not be exactly Skyrim lore friendly, but it appears to be more like what you are asking for.... Also check out the Knights of the Nine and Matys Medieval Knights mods by Maty743 for Medieval style plate armors (ported from an Oblivion mod).
  7. I have seen some gladiator style arena mods, but I like your Medieval style tournament idea!
  8. I seem to recall that there are some unowned beds that your character can sleep on within High Hrothgar.
  9. I use Climates of Tamriel mod, which has different weather for 7 different geographic areas of Skyrim. What you are asking for sounds like a great idea, and seems like it would be an extension of that mod - adding different weather patterns for different seasons.
  10. How about character presets such as "Children of Skyrim - New Nord Presets and MORE" and "Bretonnia - New Breton Presets and MORE" by FastestDog? These are presets for the vanilla Nord or Breton races. There are also mods for new races, such as Temptress or Lunari that help make good-looking characters.
  11. I have not seen a scale mail mod, but NorseViking Armor II by Croc does justice to good ol' fashioned Viking style chainmail, including lamellar mail.
  12. To help keep any self-respecting female warrior from looking like a stripper or a Frank Frazetta pin-up, I recommend the Knights of the Nine mod. It has decent-looking heavy plate armor with much better stats than steel, though the female variant is “chesty”. There is also a Less Sexual Female Armor mod that replaces the chesty vanilla female armors of various types with the male versions. I also just came across Divine Aegis HD - Paladin Style Ebony Armor Rehaul mod, which looks like a shiny silver and gold retexturing of vanilla Ebony Armor. If you don't mind steel armor, the Knight Steel Plate Armor mod retextures and replaces the vanilla steel plate armor. I think it may have an optional earlier file version with only male armor, so you could probably equip a female character with it. The SPOA Silver Knight Armor mod looks like a fancier, high-def engraved and shiny version of vanilla steel plate armor. It apparently only comes in a male version, which can also be worn by females.
  13. Priests exist as NPCs in the game, so it would be great if someone created a mod that allows player characters to have a more priestly role. An expansion of the Restoration spells would be handy -- the existing Paladin Spell Pack mod does a good job of that. A different special priestly power for each of the 9 Divines would be cool. To retain balance, priests maybe need to be restricted from using edged weapons and bows (as D&D does), so they could uses maces, staffs, clubs.
  14. If the game is recreating a Dark Ages Northern European feel, corn did not exist in Europe until it was brought from the Americas by explorers in the late 15th and early 16th Century.
  15. I have never read Dragonlance, but there is a new mod on the Hot Files section: Kitiara - Standalone Follower - Custom Voiced by DashingKnight. I seem to recall in the forum section for that mod that there seems to be a striking resemblance to Kitiara of Dragonlance. If not, I heartily endose that mod, anyway!
  16. I get an error when I try to view your pic, but for females, how about Selenes Underworld Armor by SigaTech? It looks a bit shiny. Also, Lustmord Vampire Armor by AmethystDeceiver has a more low-cut catsuit look,
  17. I like this idea of set of healer related quests, since Skyrim is heavy on hack, slash, and Destruction magic. I play a Breton Spellsword who is also a priest of Mara, concentrating on Restoration magic. It is very challenging to try to keep the body count to a minimum (no mercy for drauger or vampires, though), and to restrain your character and followers from shooting first and asking questions later. There is a Paladin Spell Pack mod that is helpful for healer type players, as well as paladins. For another healer type spell, the FCResurrect spell mod is essential. For non-violent combat, the vanilla Paralyze spell, as well as the Bind and Gag spell mod work very well. For a healer type follower, I'd recommend the excellent Cerwiden mod. I am no modder, myself, but I wish you luck on getting this great idea turned into a "reality".
  18. I am no modder, but there are some mods on the Nexus that look like they may be more in line with what you are seeking. Here are some mods that I use to get a more European Dark Ages/Medieval vibe: Knights of the Nine – “Lore-friendly” (from TES Oblivion) European-style heavy plate armor. There are also a few variants in a separate mod, including Teutonic, Hospitaller, and Tempar surcoats.NorseViking Armor II: Good ‘ol chaimail byrnies, and “real” Viking style helmets (not horns). No “stripper” armor here!Witcher 2 Helmet Pack, also Shield Pack, as well as Dawnguard and Standard Heavy Plate Immersive Armors – Provides more variation on armors found on NPCs, bandits, and in levelled lists of loot. I’ve seen bandits in wearing a variety of mismatched armors, which seems more realistic. I’ve also seen more chainmail armors from NorseViking Armor II, and even some Viking round shields on bandits.2 sword mods by ElvarheimGood luck with your project!
  19. I get a file not found error at that address now. Does anyone know where it went?
  20. On a horse, you are two meals for the price of one!
  21. If you would like an (Oblivion) “lore-friendly” Crusder armor, check out the excellent Knights of the Nine mod by Matys, with it’s red diamond surcoat. If you want to get more Medieval, he also does a Matys Medieval Knights mod with Teutonic, Hospitallar, & Templar surcoats. A search on “knights” under the “Armour” category yields a selection of armor mods, many of which appear to have heavy plate armor based on the Knights of the Nine mod, with some showing traditional Crusader colors. I also like the “Witcher 2 Style Dawnguard and Standard Heavy Plate” mod by Baran for it’s worn and gritty-looking Gothic plate armor, including sallet helmet variations with and without the bevor (neck protector) – it has no surcoat, though. There are also some other Witcher 2 mods for Skyrim that bring a Medieval European feel, including a variety of helmets and shields (some blazoned with coats of arms).
  22. Do you mean like using the ShowRaceMenu console command, which opens the player creation menu, but for NPC followers instead of the player character? I do not have the skills to do this, but it certainly sounds intriquing. From what I can gather from reading posts from the talented follower modders here on Nexus, the current method of creating followers involves using the buggy Creation Kit or the Skyrim NPC Editor Mod (which appears to be broken for me). Some easy to use in-game method of NPC creation (potential followers) would be quite useful, and an easy way to import pre-set faces created by others would help, as well. I hope some talented modder takes on this challenge and gets it to work!
  23. Orlong’s Hearth mod provides medium-sized (as far as Skyrim is concerned) lore-friendly fortress just outside Riverwood. There are 2 separate buildings and an outdoor courtyard, so you can split the followers up to avoid crowding. The main hall has a master bedroom and also includes a follower’s bedroom with 2 beds. The main hall also has some bedrolls on the floor around the central fire pit – with the UFO mod, if you ask your followers to relax, they will generally wander around where you left them, and may use the bedrolls in the main hall late at night. If you still feel crowded, also install the Eagle’s Nest mod for a nearby mountaintop retreat between Riverwood & Whiterun, and have some of your followers “relax” up there.
  24. ApolloDown’s new Civil War Overhaul mod seems to head in this direction, but I like the idea of the character optionally building his own faction (maybe through quests, and spending lots of gold). The desolation and destruction you describe might make Skyrim more of an empty place, though. Maybe the war’s escalation could be something your player could optionally work to prevent - or not? You may be able to contact the author of that mod with your player’s 3rd party faction idea as a future enhancement. I have not downloaded the Civil War Overhaul yet because it seems fairly large and extensive, and I am currently working through the excellent Helgen Reborn mod. Helgen Reborn lets your character help some new NPCs rebuild Helgen, and it gives you the option of having the town return to Imperial control, side with the Stormcloaks, or go independent (with it’s own guards, flags, and uniforms).
  25. For the sword, check out Elvarheim’s Azincourt sword mod (WIP) @ http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/257633. It’s not an exact match, but it’s the closest I’ve seen to a historical European Medieval sword. He also has a “Glimmer” bastard sword mod currently available. For the Armor, Croc’s Norse Viking Armor II @ http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30647 looks like a close match to Viking/Norman/early Crusades-era chainmail. Throw on the vanilla Steel Helmet and you’re good to go. No surcoat available, though. Hothtrooper44’s fabulous Immersive Armor mod also includes some of these armors (if you don't mind seeing bandits attacking you in the latest armor fashions ;-) If you want a Medieval European heater shield as well, try the Witcher 2 Shield Pack mod. The shields come plain, or with coats of arms from the Witcher 2 game.
