  1. Then pick up the tools, learn how to work them and change the situation if you think it's that bad. More beautiful words have never been spoken.
  2. 1. - I've been in the same situation as you. For my first mod I wanted to make the Power Armor voice available for gas masks and closed types of helmets, but I never figured it out and I tried for days. 2. - There's already a mod that allows you to have a power armor voice without wearing a PA helmet. However, it's tied to the RACE and the author attached the PA voice to the PLAYER race. Meaning you'll have it 24/7. 3. - I asked both here and the Nexus for help and the general consensus is that it is hardcoded into the game. You are not the first one to get that idea and you certainly won't be the last, but I'm sure that more experienced users have tried and failed. I'm pretty sure if it could have been done, it would've been done ages ago.
  3. If you would be so kind to flatter me for a moment and go to my profile page and if you'd take note of the right corner, you'd notice there's no donation button enabled. So yeah... you were saying ? I wouldn't take your money even if you wanted to give it to me! People have reached out to me in PMs and comment sections, telling me they want to donate, but I said no ( I can show you screenshots of such messages ). I make mods because it's my passion and because I do it for myself first and foremost, which I then share with the rest. You're just another typical mod user that complains about mods not being made. Keep on complaining, it won't change anything. As I said, if you want something done... do it yourself. Nobody will do it for you. Also... this wise man made another thread with the same topic... My God... https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5369490-no-more-weapon-mods-please/ I actually am subscribed to JuiceHead because I thought his mod reviews were good when I first found them, but lately it's just been downhill for that channel in terms of quality. First I started noticing that a lot of mods he doesn't review properly. There's a lot of false information said. I noticed it a lot with my mods, on which he says something completely wrong. Like my Assaultroness armor which has a story to it, but he managed to completely f*** it up and turn the story into something else which I never wrote. He butchered my story. It is obvious that he doesn't take enough time to pay attention to the mod, he just wants to throw videos out because of Youtube. My biggest gripe is not that he's not 100% correct when reviewing mods, but that it's obvious he's struggling with Youtube. He releases videos on a daily basis and all of it depends on the mods which come out. On top of that, he wants to be a reviewer that connects PC and XBOX so he usually reviews only mods that are for both PC and XBox. Unfortunately, when there are no mods released, he then throws out a video full of false information and speculation which then cause both misinformed PC and XBox users to voice their opinions on both Youtube comment section, the Nexus comment section and PMs. I personally can't stand his speculation videos and I don't watch them because of it. I will not support a channel that spreads false information, especially because he throws them out to support himself. I also gave advice to him several times to start linking his videos to people's mod pages by submitting his videos to the Nexus, so that he gets exposure and more followers... but nope. He ignored the advice several times, so instead of making his life easier, he constantly begs for subscribers, likes and for people to spam his videos with the "word of the day". I think he could be a great mod reviewer, but I just don't like what his channel is all about now. Huge toxicity in his comment section, videos on a daily basis, videos based on false information and speculation whenever there are no mods to review... I don't like that he's struggling so much with Youtube, but I also don't like that he's putting out videos "just because". He should relax, take time to check out the mod properly, not make so many errors when reviewing it... and especially stop with the speculation videos.
  4. Whenever I see a topic like this, especially on Youtube, it makes me cringe so hard with my teeth that I make sparks fly. Why do you say "we" ? Who's "we" ? As in "we have voice actors", "we need more quality quest mods"... There's no we... there's only you and every other mod user who never spent a single second to know what's it like to create a mod. Just like every other user with opinions on both Youtube and the Nexus. They all have their opinions which they often love to express and bother modders, but they never have any insight on what it takes to create one. Modders make mods because they want to make mods, not because you or him or anyone else complains about it on the forum or Youtube comment section. Modders make them out of their own time and passion because they want to change their game and play it the way they want to play it. If someone makes skimpy mods, it's his right. If someone makes weapon mods, it's his right. And I personally hate it whenever someone says the following : You're sick of it ? You're sick of mods which are made by people who are happy in their life by creating what they want to personally use in their game ? Wow... shocking. Had it even crossed your mind that you can simply go onto Google, open thousands of web pages available to you in today's day and age and simply learn how to make mods yourself ? Then you won't have to be sick of other people's non lore-friendly crappy skimpy weapon mods. You can finally create what YOU personally want to see in the game. But I guess you won't do that, because it's easier to say how you are sick of mods which you personally want to see, not being made. Newsflash, I started modding because nobody was making mods that I wanted to see. It's how it goes. If you want to see something in a game, then you go online, google "how to do X or Y", dig through the internet and learn it. Then when you have some experience but you hit a bump in the road, you turn your questions to the community which then helps you. But complaining about how you're sick of the content that people are making is honestly... blowing in the wind. As the famous line goes; "If you want something done, do it yourself".
  5. There's always an NPC fighting molerats at that junkyard. They're usually called Settler for me, so I guess you have a mod that changes their names. The NPC that fights the molerats is a random settler, can be both male or female and if you help them, they'll provide you with caps. Companions will also respond to helping the settler, because it is considered being nice to help those in need. From the Wiki: Sometimes a settler spawns at the landfill and usually fights the mole rats. If talking to this settler they will reward the Sole Survivor with 50 caps for helping them fight off the rats. It is also possible to find the settler already dead.
  6. Hm... perhaps in that case it is probably the keyword or perhaps you did not do the same in the Armor Addon form of the armor (I think there's one in there as well). Try adding the keyword : Armor type vault suit, I believe it's called.
  7. I believe it is called "Instance Naming". Basically you have to choose dn_VaultSuit. That tells the game if you're wearing any special kind of outfits. It's found in the ARMO category of each armor, within an ESP.
  8. Valve did the same mistake Bethesda did when they launched mods for consoles, and that was that it was not fully planned out. Instead of analyzing and improving on the concept of the idea, they instead went to the public with nothing but the concept of it and a shitstorm emerged. When paid modding came out, I didn't comment on it because I was not a modder. Even though I was a mere user, I hated the idea because it killed what modding is all about. Now that I am a modder, I am still 110% against paid mods. I think donations are fully acceptable and a nice way of someone saying thank you. And that's about it. The day they put a price tag onto mods, they were no longer mods. They were products and users expect products to work 100% and to be supported. I will never charge for my mods even if paid mods somehow do become a reality and I won't judge anyone who does want to be paid for their modding work. My thoughts on the matter is that if you're modding and expecting to get paid well enough to make a profession out of it which pays the bills, you're doing it wrong. But then again, people make mods for different reasons. Some do it because they like doing it, some do it for donations, some do it to get popular. Reasons are different for everyone. But I don't think this has anything to do with Bethesda games anymore. Steam Workshop is dead for Bethesda games and it's all about the Nexus and Bethesda.net now. This article is pretty much about Valve's games and games which do have Steam Workshop. I use 167 mods for Fallout 4 at the moment. Even if every single one of them was only 1$, that's 167$ to play with all these mods. 167$ + 40$ for the base game + 20$ for the Season Pass. That's 227$ just to play the game which I have installed on my PC today. Not to mention all the mods that I have used, but am no longer using because they're outdated and not supported. If I also counted mods which I am no longer using, that's easily another 36$. So around 263$ total. Money is the source of a lot of wrongs in this world and I don't want it to poison modding as well. Gaming in general is already being destroyed by DLCs and Season Passes, the last thing we need is paid mods.
  9. I actually tried doing this myself. You basically open the Vendor NPCs and there's a part in their script which says how many settlers there needs to be in the settlement. But unfortunately, even after I changed that number to 0, they never changed their requirement. I think it's somewhere in vendor QUEST or NPC. I remember doing a lot of Right Click > Use Info to track the script down. I even tried starting a new game to see if maybe the changes weren't updating on an already existing playthrough, but no luck. I'm not saying that it's impossible, but I certainly did not find a way to do it. But then again, my scripting knowledge is absolutely 0. I definitely would love to see a mod for this because I find these vendors in the wasteland and then I never find them again because I did not have enough settlers on the initial meet-up.
  10. 1. - Always read descriptions and comments of mods. Descriptions so that you know what the mod does and how it does it. The comments to see if there are any issues. I personally always wait for users to provide feedback before I download something. 2. - I can't help you with the entire load order because I have no idea what the majority of those mods do, but I'd place Armorsmith Extended and its patches right after AWKCR. I have it that way all the time and I never had any issues. 3. - Crashing/freezing can be caused by a infinite amount of things. Textures which are too big for consoles or meshes which aren't made properly or missing material files or simply badly made ESP mod. It depends on what you installed. Whenever I have an issue, I do a process of elimination. I disable mods in groups of 10, then 5, then 1 until I see which mod is causing the issue. Process of elimination is the only way to find the problematic mod.
  11. Completely understandable. I already was aware that you guys are in the process of a huge re-design so of course I understand that you want to concentrate fully on that. I personally can't wait to see the new design ^^ Thank you and good luck to all of you :D
  12. I've been following your WIP images and I immediately took note of the mouth part of that mask. I figured I was just crazy, but... is that a mask from Aliens vs Predator ? The front mouth piece looks awfully familiar from a Predator mask in that game. As for the copyright, I do agree that logically changing an asset to such extent makes some sense that it's your own, but I don't think it is. Think of it this way, you build a house on a foundation that is not yours. No matter what you do, you own the house, but the foundation is never yours and if the owner says they want you to remove your house from his foundation, he's legally correct. I can't be 100% sure, but I personally always make mods from scratch, even if I took inspiration from someone else. Even a simple material file that has the exact changes as my own, I'll rather do a material file from scratch than take an existing one and change some values. If that mask part really is from AWP, then I'd say it's not an original asset because I was able to recognize it from a mile away and I haven't even played that game in a long time. This mask : http://www.maybang.com/v/vspfiles/photos/SS-13-10003-2.jpg
  13. Same thing here in Sweden. Nexus has been having a seizure all day.
  14. Why'd you do that? It literally serves no purpose and that mail should be used for actual issues. I suppose the script extender not supporting the current patch is kind of an issue. From their own page : 2017, people still can't read.
  15. Have you chosen the left and right hand body slot in the ESP ? If you check those, you won't have any hands then.
  16. Just something I think could be an interesting feature and quite helpful for both the user and the mod author. I personally at this moment have 61 mods published, however since I'm a variety mod author, I have a ton of small and big mods and a couple of them I'm extremely proud of. I was thinking of a feature where a mod author could showcase 3 of his chosen mods on his profile page. Similar to how STEAM has various options to showcase on your own profile (pictures, achievements, games and so on...). So you go into someone's profile and right there there're 3 mods that the author picked and put up as a showcase. The mod would circle through just like the HOT FILES mods do. I know that you can just go into someone's profile page and scroll through the most endorsed mods, but this way you'd be able to see the top 3 mods that the mod author is proud of and thinks people should check out. Just a thought ^^ I made a raw representation on what it could kind of look like. It's nothing sleek looking, but there's certainly a nice designer's touch someone could do with this idea if they were interested in it. I'd probably go with a mini hot file system to use a showcase because not every mod gets on the hot files, but probably has the images set up for it. So this way it would not go to waste if the mod does not get onto the hot files. Or I can go back to my cave and make a much nicer concept of what it could potentially look like. http://i.imgur.com/mIF0T4f.png
  17. You cannot make new meshes using the Creation Kit. Use Outfit Studio. Learn about ZAP Sliders and all that.
  18. Ah bummer. Thanks for letting me know Ethreon, much appreciated.
  19. - I turn OFF the EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS for private messages - The options are once again automatically turned ON the next day Why is this happening ? Is this a bug or am I missing something ? I really don't want to receive emails for PMs because it's pretty much spam to me and I'm quite regularly on this site, so I always see whenever a new PM comes up.
  20. I play as a female. Primarily because women are more compassionate, sensitive and emotional than men and that's what I'm looking for. I want to feel and hear the emotion when the character speaks and I just don't get that with male characters. It does not apply to all games though. I could never play the Witcher series if it weren't for Geralt. He is one of the best written characters ever and he carries a lot of emotion with his subtle tone. The way he speaks carries so much depth and intensity of the emotion he wants to express. I also play females because I grew tired of the stereotypical "Rambo mountain of muscle" bravado looking male characters. I'm sick of it. So since Skyrim,, I always play a female in any game where I can. I find them tender, gentle and agile, but extremely strong at the same time. I like the mix. Another reason is because of the body shape and because a woman can wear anything while a man is always restricted to manly clothes. I enjoy creating female outfits because I can let my imagination go free because everything looks good on a woman. On a man, not so much. A part of me also wishes that I was born as a female. So playing as a female in some extent allows me to simulate and experience what it's like to be a woman. I am an extremely curious person and I like to explore and experience the unknown. I see a lot of people who express their distaste towards people who play a female character. Calling them perverts, virgins, no-life losers and whatnot. Mostly because when you go by the images, most of them are either naked or have their boobs hanging out. I personally don't care whether someone makes their character have breasts the size of planets (just look at the Supporter images, such a porn site), even though I find it distasteful. I will never say anything or criticize anyone for the way they play a videogame. I don't care how people play their game. I do however hate the other half of the spectrum where people are trying to impose their own mindset and moral values upon others. Insulting people because of the way they play a game. I personally get rude comments and all that because all my outfits have a barefoot variation. And then people call me names, acting as if they've never seen feet before and jump to the wrong conclusions. Despite having countless of pages, books and websites teaching people how being barefoot is the natural way and the most healthy way of walking. Walking barefoot does a lot of the body and overall health. But unfortunately, people only see the pervert side of the Nexus and then insult people all the time because their minds are limited. If people want to play a naked female with boobs the size of a planet, be my guest. If people want to play a male with his junk hanging out, be my guest. Playing with a hard-on is actually quite healthy for the body because it keeps it active. I personally don't find it compelling to make my character nude, but I also don't judge others who want to do so.
  21. Welcome to the new age of modding. Bethesda is partially to blame because they used MODS as a marketing flagship for Fallout 4 and Skyrim, so many console users have the wrong opinion of mod authors. They think we make mods exclusively for everyone except ourselves, when it's pretty much the other way around. And I 110% know how you feel. Some people just don't read, but then again... maybe some of them don't know how to read.
  22. I don't think the preview exactly shows how a character looks, it's all those records that matter. Once he is in the game, the color of his features will be whatever you specified. You can notice the same with every NPC. They all have ginger hair in the preview, despite looking absolutely different ingame.
  23. I'm guessing you made everyone aware to not ask you those questions by making a sticky post in the posts section ? It will drastically reduce the number of people that want to ask this question. As for the PMs, nothing you can do about that. In my case, the majority of people know by now that I don't do requests and I just don't respond to comments that have requests in them, but people still send me PMs asking if I can do this or that. Just a few days ago I received 3 requests in just 30 minutes. You can't really stop that because some people are new to modding and they are not aware of what's going on. I just reply "I don't do requests" and that's it. Simple and direct. If you are truly bothered by it, simply turn off your messenger so that people can only reach you through the posts section on a mod. Then place a sticky that you don't want those questions and you won't get them... more or less. I don't see how Dark0ne can do anything to stop every single user from asking a simple question. That would be censorship and filtering, which is something I extremely dislike on Bethesda.net. So... turn off messenger, place a sticky post = gg.
