  1. Yikes!! Fast traveled to Riverwood in order to sell some gear to Alvor the Smith as my usual Whiterun contacts were temprarily out of cash. Got in after closing so spent the night in the Inn. Just as I'd stepped out on the porch the next morning a Blood Dragon hit the town. Critter was one of those that won't hold still long enough to get a shot in. There I am throwing spikes at him and he takes off just before they reach him. Further, I'm not a good enough wing shot to be able to hit him in the air with any consistency. Anyway, he/she is flying around torching everyone and everything. I'm chasing after him trying to get in a shot. Puker is burning the place for all he's worth. Finally got him but before I did he managed to nail the entire guard contingent along with Alvor and Sigrid his wife. Very annoying. AFAIK, Alvor and Sigrid don't respawn. The guards may, though I don't know. Assuming the smith doesn't respawn, will someone else take over the Smithy or is that all she wrote for Riverwood? I've seen Alvor dragoned before and when that happened Sigrid took over the Smithy. Now they're both dead. Kids are orphaned. Too bad the designers at TESV haven't designed a patch to put the kids up for adoption and have someone else come in to run the Smithy. I've tried the mod which has all the civilians run inside to stay out of the Dragon's way but it glitches on my comp. Basically causes the town to become deserted as the NPCs won't come back out after they've run for cover.
  2. Lol! Have many mods downloaded to my Skyrim. No telling how they effect each other and the game. A few hours ago a Courier came running up just after I'd entered Whiterun. Gave me the message, while apparently completely oblivious to the fact that he was wearing nothing but his hat and shoes. I found the whole scene to be somewhat bizarre, particularly as my male mods are permanently tumescent when naked. Afraid that I roared with laughter. Wonder if the glitch will spread or if it's pretty much a one time occurrence? Got too many mods to want to start trying to eliminate the offender. I suspect the I know which one it is though, and I'll be perfectly content to eliminate that one as it's just window dressing.
  3. Hello All, Is it my comp or has it become more difficult to move around in the vanilla Nexus sight since the new adds have begun appearing? I'm having trouble moving back to the main mod section when I click back. Usually takes four or five clicks to move. I thought at first that it was a malware assault and I ran my Malwarebytes and got rid of several that had crept in on my comp, but it didn't affect the Nexus adds at all. Since I've no intention of responding to any of the adds, they're simply an annoyance. Am I going to be forced to pay for a sight upgrade in order to ditch the adds? Yours, Adipose
  4. A fair number of clothing mods have been made with a romantic situation in mind. Beautification mods abound. However, I see little point in all this if significant changes aren't made to dialogue and physical behavior...such as hugging, kissing, and handholding. I'll be the first to admit that I can't do the mod, but someone among all the skilled folks out there should be able to accomplish the feat. As it stands, what one has is roughly comparable to a box of candy which is only partially sweetened. Pornography isn't necessary, though having sex is very nice as the culmination of a romantic interlude. No, "fade to black" would be just fine. However, I do think that romantic behavior should be done properly. Therefore, I'd like to request that someone create a reasonably thorough romance mod for Skyrim. If we're gonna hint at it we might as well do it properly. Sigh! 'Course, if someone does create the mod, then someone else will immediately tweak it so that the "fade to black" becomes "on the back and heals in the air". PhooeyI I've got four kids...that I know of. I don't need to see it done by a pair of bitmaps.
  5. One of the aspects of player-NPC interaction that I find humorous is the situation in which a player has just drilled an arrow through the gullet of a hostile npc and a supporting hostile npc looks arouind a bit, mumbles something about having scared them off and then returns to whatever they were doing. Not gonna happen in real world. Mod needs to be made that causes the base to go on full alert, with attempts made to ferret out the player. Now, I realize that this situation doesn't occur all the time but it's often enough that silliness triumphs.
  6. Skip it. I've read other commentaries regarding this mod and folks either seem to love it or find it buggy and awkward. I've downloaded Castle Stonespire and it works pretty well...so far. 'Fraid Nuch is heading for the 'ol bit dump. Too bad. Showed lots of promise. I got rid of all the mods that I didn't really need or want for my style of game play. Reinstalled once. Rested 24 hours. Fast traveled once. Nothing worked. Still couldn't get the little Dwarven arachnid to talk to me. 'Nuff time wasted. On with the game I say. Btw, if y'all really want a little mod that works very well and has lot's of little innovative features, I recommend Farview Cabin. Got a great view from deck, very scenic, within one hour walk of Whiterun, and it's small enough that I can kick back and watch five lovelies walk around in various states of undress while they pursue household activities. Now all I gotta do is figure out how to introduce a little bobble and jiggle for UNP. In fact, I find it so user friendly that I may dump Stonespire and just wait until I can build one of the HFire estates.
  7. Okay, assuming someone responds with helpful info, I'll either feel like a total cretin or be vindicated. Anyway, I don't know what's supposed to happen when I talk to the metal spider. Does he respond verbally? Do I follow his body language and head off in the direction he's pointing to hunt for some sort of cube (key)? What...???
  8. In pre-Skyrim versions of the Elder Scrolls, it was possible for the player to be revived from a death blow due to the fact that their companion survived the action and took out the bad guy(s). Further, iIrc, it was possible to give the companion potions that they would then use(I'm a bit hazy on this one). Anyway, why isn't any of this possible in Skyrim? PS: Levitation was nice as well.
  9. First off, let me say that the Eisen, Ritter and Ebony sets from this modder are superb. Great to have high quality gear at low level. Further, as I'm sure most of you have discovered, the Eisen set also converts to very impressive male armor as soon as you tell your character to put it on. The only failure in this mod, as far as I'm concerned, is the lack of helmet for for the Eisen set. The helm/circlet for the Ritter set matches fairly well for the fem Eisen, however, when I tried the Ritter helm on the male it didn't show in appearence though my toon was shown as having put it on. The fur hood from the Vagabond mod works pretty well when matched with the male Eisen set, but I'd like to have a matching iron helm with comparable set stats. Also, no shields come with this armor mod, but the light ebony shield from the Nightingale set matches fairly well. Speaking of the Nightingale set, I've not worked up to ebony with my current toon, so it'll have to wait. Looking forward to it though as it looks promising. In closing reference, I'd like to recommend the Vagabond set as a good entry level light set. Very interesting on both male and female toons with higher stats than the vanilla leather. To sum up, I'd like to request that helms/helmets and shields be created for use with the Eisen gear.
  10. First off, my toon's basically a loner...always. Oh, he recruits a companion just because they're very helpful in tight situations...when they aren't getting in the way. My favorite is Jenassa. However, I rarely follow Hadvar out of Helgen. Logically, I can't see why I should feel good about people who were going to remove my head a few minutes before. Soo, with that in mind, I don't go join the Stormcloaks but I do carry on a small guerrilla war with the High Elves and their imperial lackies. In particular I love staging ambushes on those little Justiciar patrols and on those small prisoner escort details that the Empire runs. Later on the game becomes interesting after there's bounty on my head and hit people are sent out to try and collect my scalp. Oh, it's a very good idea to stage the ambushes out in the wild where the city watch don't notice you. I've been known to track a target for some time in order to ensure that my deed goes unseen. One other note. The game designers need to work on prisoner reaction after the escort is knocked off. We're supposed to be able free him/her and provide them with gear. So far they've just freaked out and run off with their hands still tied.
  11. Ah, okay. Well in that case I'll drop the quest for information. Somehow I got the impression that Sanctuary was some kind of large mod that had been created as an addon. Thanks for the reply.
  12. Would someone please explain what the Santuary mod is.
  13. I've finally decided to try a character run outside the main quest, starting with avoiding the Thane at Whiterun, slipping in and recruiting a follower other than Lydia, and then doing all the side quests, etc. How awkward is this going to be in the long run? I already suppose that I'll need to go after the head dragon at some point.
  14. Most dwelling mods that I've seen have created structures that are simply too large for me to feel comfortable...what with my companion and I being the only occupants. Primary exception to that being the new Hearthfire constructs, and even those could use a few tweeks...such as a full on spousal relationship(kissing, hugging, sleeping with and...fade to black.) and a higher location for more scenic grandeur. In many ways Breezehome is a perfect location and size. The only thing it lacked was an enchanting table and a mod took care of that. It's got the smithy right next door, which is actually closer and just as easy to reach as the basement smithy in Hearthfire. Plus, it's got the advantage of two merchants from whom I can purchase smithing supplies. Also, it's got the handy bedroom for my follower...Lydia that is. Haven't tried it to see if other followers can make use of it. My guess is no. BTW. I don't kow who came up with the idea of putting the smithy in the basement in Hearthfire, however, most of you should be aware that the carbon monoxide from the smelter and forge would eventually kill all the occupants upstairs. I noticed that the designer of the Roriks Keep mod put his smelter in the lowest level in the donjon, however, he/she was smart enough to install a chimney that runs up through the wall in order to vent outside. Yay!
  15. Love the size. Most mods of this nature too big. Feel like I'm lost and alone in the big ones...what with just my follower and me rattling around. A bit cluttered and trashy but that works just fine for me. Kinda reminds me of my comp desk. Needs an enchant station and bedrooms for moi and Jenassa. These may be in the keep but if so I missed them.
  16. It's simple. I'd like a mod that enables me to do the following with my wife: Kiss, hug, have sex, and sleep. Changing clothes has pretty much been dealt with...but not in a package that allows all the other activities. What I"m looking for here, I guess, is a more or less full on domestic mod that's easy to install through NMM. Lol, I realize I'm probably asking for the moon, however, some of the current attempts do show promise. I'd give the mod a shot, but I'm pretty much a player and not a modder. BTW, I like the Hearthfire upgrade...a lot. Just don't much care for the locations. I'm a mountain top kinda guy. Now, If Hearthfire could be tweeked to involve a mountain top location and a mature spousal relationship, man I'd be in Hog Heaven.
