  1. Hey, everyone! My name is Stephanie Young, and quite a few years agpo, I teamed up with several other members of the game modding community to build a fantasy game, but sadly, I had a lot of strokes due to a rare cerebrovascular diseas, starting in 2016, when most of our volunteer team members quit, . I guess after they got older, they lost interest, but one person stayed behind and is helping me work on what I no longer can. due to what all the strokes I had took ffom me. We are working in the latest Unreal Engine, and since we lost our website a;so, back in 2016, I post weekly prpomotional videos on our Facebook group page, in an attempt to get young people to help us out. Our goup page is here: Project Tokala Group | Facebook
  2. So, I want to make a custom creature follower...however, when I duplicate any creature race in the SE CK, I get no preview of the creature I duped in the duplicate race's preview screen, and when I create an NPC itself and apply the duplicate race I created, it shows up as a sword in the preview....and it shows as a sword also when I place it out into a world space. Has anyone been able to successfully create a creature companion for Skyrim SE?
  3. I am getting crashes during character creation too. I have no mods installed. I'm also using Windows 10, and I have an fx-6300, an R9 290x 4GB, and 16GB RAM. This is very annoying!! The game recommended that I play in high quality instead of ultra, but it runs ultra just fine from 45-60fps depending on the area. I guess I will try turning the graphics down to see if it helps any.
  4. Help me, guys! Please! I have been at this for days, and I'm about to be driven to my breaking point and just give up. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. I am following these tutorials numerous times, and they have worked for my child armor set and my fox meshes with no problem: and But now, for some reason, I do everything the proper way, but end up only seeing the eyes from the original in Skyrim...like this: http://i66.tinypic.com/ojjl1e.jpg I have no idea what I am doing wrong, honestly. This is a pic of it in Nifskope, and it looks perfect....everything done according to instructions. http://i66.tinypic.com/2rzsbh0.png I've literally tried everything in my knowledge to figure this out....and I have been trying to figure it out for three whole days, and every time I try, I only get the eyes to show up. I even tried copying the lighting and shading properties over from the eyes, and that did absolutely nothing as well. I don't know if I will ever crack this code, but I figured that maybe if I get the file out, the mod community could help me. This is the Nif file with the textures: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4BmhiKTA2PBWmEtaUZ2OFZhVk0/view?usp=sharing Any help would really be appreciated!!!
  5. Guys, I am trying to implement a custom outfit I made for adopted children in Hearthfire, and I got it in the game as armor and armature for the armor to be based off of. It even had its own outfit form. I made it into an outfit with an invisible shoe mesh included, since the shoes are included as part of the main mesh, but I can't figure out how to make a function to give the clothing to the children. I tried adding it to a lot of lists in Hearthfire, but it still doesn't show up as an option to gift it to them. This is really confusing me. These are the meshes and textures that work well for boys and girls. I tried it on all of the original children clothes in the game, and it worked perfectly with the main outfit mesh and invisible shoes mesh both attached. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4BmhiKTA2PBdFhIU0FxcFNUS3M/view?usp=sharing It also works in Creation Kit as an outfit to place on child NPCs in the game, but I can't figure out how to make it work with the Hearthfire system. It's driving me insane!! I'm about to just have to replace one of the Hearthfire meshes with my nifs, though I don't even know how that will work because of the mesh requiring for the child to not wear shoes. Is this why there are no mods for custom Hearthfire clothes for kids? Anyway, this is what it's supposed to look like: http://i68.tinypic.com/32zv2h3.jpg Also, here's the esp that I made. The armor should be sold at most trinket shops throughout Skyrim, and I think I just call it "Children's Winter Clothes" ....it just doesn't seem to want to work on kids though, and it's not like you can make them a follower to equip the item...at least not without a mod. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4BmhiKTA2PBdVFDdDdxNkdCbEU/view?usp=sharing Please....if anyone has the knowledge to make this work, or to tell me how, please help me! I am not very familiar with the Creation Kit.
  6. Ohh, gotcha. I'll try it and see if I can make it work. Thanks. ^^
  7. Ohh, I'll do that then. I'll add the specular map to it. I wonder if I could add my other maps...I had a metallic map for the eyes to be shiny
  8. Thanks buddy. I did turn the specularity down when I was playing around with the nif. He looks better, but now the definition seems to be gone from the fur. I'll continue to play around some more. Thank you. :)
  9. BTW: I have solved this problem before for my Tokali Fox Follower mod, but that was so long ago, and I have already forgotten, lol.
  10. Hey everyone. I finally figured out how to add my mesh, but I have a new problem...I added my normal and diffuse textures and now it's really shiny! I'm sure that this problem will be much easier to figure out, so I might not need help, but if anyone can point me to a nice tutorial, it'd be helpful too. :) Shiny fox!!
  11. Bump maps are usually a solid color. Normal maps are newer and more advanced, because they have about three colors on them, and you can only use software to create them.
  12. Oooh, thank you! That really helps a lot! I will try to add weights to it in Blender then. Blender is what I've been using to rig and animate my models anyway. In fact, I made a new rig for the fox, and posed him. If I can't get him to work in Skyrim, he's definitely going in my game project...well, he's going in there anyway. xD Here's a Blender screenshot of him in an threatened/intimidated pose.
  13. Hello, everyone....I've been lurking around the community for a long time, and made a few texture, companion and weapon mods, but today, I am confused. I made a high quality replacement mesh for foxes, but I can't figure out how to make it show up in Skyrim. I've watched a bunch of tutorials, but they really confused me. I used to be able to edit creature meshes in 3Ds Max with no issues, and then just copy and paste the mesh into Skyrim, like I did in this video: (Sorry for sounding so confused in the video. I have brain abnormalities that prevent me from talking preoperly, so you'll find it to be repetitive) But yeah....no issues from exporting a mesh to .obj, and importing it again to replace the original. But it seems that because this is a completely new mesh, the game doesn't like it at all...whenever I load up the game, it will show up as invisible, and I'm sad. :( I followed tutorials, but they were very confusing....does anyone know of any tutorials that are easy to follow? Here's a picture of the new mesh that I want to add: And here it a link to my files and the original, so you can see the difference from the new and the old. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4BmhiKTA2PBUk9LcEZWRWh0SWc/view?usp=sharing
  14. I really need this mod. I suffered from a stroke a little while back, which has kept me from being able to use a keyboard and mouse, due to very limited control, and a limited range of motion in my right hand. I've seen folks make amazing UI controller mods for other games, but this one is my favorite of them all. Please...for my sake, I'm humbly asking for the modding community to try to make something like this.
  15. Hey guys...sorry for being offline. I haven't really been able to access this site for a while. Still having trouble getting it to load at all. Anyway, I've still been working on my own game project. Always looking for more members. It is here: http://www.projecttokala.com
  16. If you guys are wondering where I am, I am designing my own RPG game. You are all welcome to join me, if you wish: http://projecttokala.com/forums
  17. I just released the first parts of a new custom voice adding for followers/marriage companions tutorial that I am working on. Sure, it isn't the best, and I am not the best teacher either....but it does show you most steps for basic functionality. Marriage video will come soon...as well as adding extra features to your follower. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WDBn9r-Gak The video above is part one of the follower tutorial, but before you start on that one, you must watch my original voice adding tutorial, which will be linked in the video. Also, I have posted it as a video response for it, as well as making a video response of part two and three. I hope that this will help somebody. :)
  18. This is happening to me. I can create custom voiced NPCs with full dialogues, no sweat, but every single time I have attempted to turn any of them into a follower, I hit a roadblock. Basically, I am able to get the basic "follow me" function to work, at first, for all of my player characters in Skyrim. But then, once I start adding all of the other follower dialogue options, like "dismiss" "trade" "wait" etc. to it, the whole panel disappears completely, unless I have a save that has that follower in my service. So basically, all of those functions work perfectly normally, if I already had that follower in my service in a previous save, but the "follow me" does not trigger at all when I want to get the NPC to follow another one of my player characters. I don't think that I am doing anything wrong. I've spent countless days, and even months on and off trying to troubleshoot this problem, and have followed every tutorial precisely. I've done three re-installs of Skyrim and the Creation Kit, but it still exists. So, until I figure it out, all of my dreams for making elaborate follower characters are diminished. I hate it...I absolutely hate it.
  19. Hey, Dyramisty. I now have some voices almost ready to go. What types of voices do you do? Or perhaps you could provide me with some samples so I can determine which character would suit you best?
  20. Hey guys, if you are interested, I made a very easy, simple to follow tutorial for adding a custom voice and dialogue to your own NPCs. Just thought I would share it here to help some folks out. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5VBWWFThZ8
  21. New texture mods up! Natural/fantasy textures, and marble textures for Markarth and Dwemer ruins!! Check my Skyrim account for details!
  22. I believe so. And both my character and followers walk on the platforms just fine as well. But I will double check the navmesh.
  23. Hey everyone. I've recently started back at modding in the Creation Kit, and I have been having really weird issues with some of my custom NPCs. Basically, I have set up an elaborate set of docks and platforms that my main character has absolutely no trouble walking on. But I place NPCs on top of them, and when I start up the game, they are always fallen through the floor...regardless of which platform I set them on top of. I've tried right clicking on the platforms themselves and changing their properties even. I made them into "ground" as well. It just doesn't make sense that my NPCs refuse to stand on any platform. So this is what I am wondering...is there any way to set up walking paths? Perhaps I can set the NPCs on the ground, and they can walk up stairs and find their way around? It is really a shame, since I spent hours setting up this settlements just so I can populate it with NPCs. I've searched everywhere for tutorials, but to no avail. If there is anyone who can point me to any tutorial, I would be so thankful for your help! http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2507/tesv2013011721224649.jpg
  24. This just happened to me a couple of days ago. And the worst thing is that Creation Kit still crashes at launch...despite a full re-install with no mods. I'm starting to hate Steam even more....especially since I have some mod projects in that folder that I was working on. :(
