  1. The only problem I had with Skyrim was my own doing while adding and taking out mods. I did have a problem recently with another game but that's a differnet subject.
  2. Its in there as a perk, I've even decapitated a ghost. Still not sure how you can do that, oh well. :whistling:
  3. I think one person said it best a few pages ago. You are god! If you want your characters to run around butt naked that's fine, you can find a mod for that, if you want 'lore' friendly you can find mods for that. To me it means zilch what someone else thinks when I play a female character. If I want to dress her in bikini armor, again, what someone else thinks means nothing to me. I bought the game and I can customize it however I want because in that game, I am god!
  4. I think it all comes down to your style of play. Personally I have never used alchemy in any of the TES games. I also rarely use potions and those that I do use are mostly restore health.
  5. The first games that I can first really remember playing quite a bit of were Conan and Hardball back on the apple II series.
  6. Nothing wrong there. I'll play a game for a month or two, get tired go to something else before coming back. For me from December to April I was playing Star Wars online. It doesn't matter how much you like it you have to take a break every now and then.
  7. That is exactly what I thought when reading this 'article'. I see no one forcing anyone do download and use any mod, or use the console commands. I use several mods which improve the look of the characters (makes me wonder why people on the PS3 and XBOX buy a game with poorly designed characters) and I've used the console command to change my character's appearance (something I do often) and to find my lost follower. If your using it to cheat that's your doing and no one else's. I can't imagine playing the game and not being allowed to mod it. The first game I ever used a mod with was actually Doom! A friend gave me a mod that turned every enemy into the Energizer Bunny.
  8. Personally, I use UNP body mode for females and for the face Better Females by Bella along with Apachii hair. I use Detailed Faces for the male face, haven't done any mods for their bodies.
  9. Another piece of advice you can use here (and with other eneimies) is if you use a one-handed malee attack have a shield and bash (basically hold down right mouse button and to bash press left button) him before he attacks. Will usually interrupt an enemy attack as well, you have to make sure you have stamina though to do this. (Don't know if this works with a non-shield as I use one-handed sword and shield for the majority of my attacks.)
  10. I'm actually glad it's not like SW:Outcast. If it was the same you'd have complants piling up about how the game doesn't register mouse clicks for attacks or other such things, or I need a mod to make attack xyz easier to use. I think overall keeping it simple worked better for Skyrim as an overly complex combat system can kill a game just as much as a too simple system.
  11. If I had bought this game for the playstation or xbox, I'd have never played it after the first few minutes. My first thought was OMG, the people's faces are fugly. With the pc I was able to get some new face mods, eye mods and hair mods (love apachii). Of course now I can't stop looking for new and better mods. :whistling:
  12. For me its how I feel at the character creation stage. Do I feel like spending a lot of time on the character or not? If I want to take some time I create a female usually spending at least 10 minutes creating her. If I want to jump into the game a male usually going with a random (or preset character). I'm not understanding why some people even care what someone else plays, or how they dress them. If someone wants to play a female, dress them in a bikini and go dungeon hunting I say go for it. Its a fantasy game, let your imagination run wild.
  13. Having played a bit of both I see really not much of a difference (playing wise) between the two. That I think is a big help in this game not having one good or bad. If they had put a good guy/bad guy I think it would have complicated things with other storylines. I usually play an Imperial so I usually go with the Imperial storyline.
  14. Reading through this I wonder how many felt the same way at first when playing Oblivion after playing Morrowind. I know when I first started playing Oblivion I felt like I did when first playing Skyrim. I has the sense that things had changed maybe too much. After playing with them I get used to it and going back to the previous games it doens't feel the same. I will admit that at first with Skyrim I was disappointed in how female characters looked which turned me off at first. But, thanks to several modders, that has been modified and I'm playing Skyrim as much as I did the other two. I will admit the one thing I don't like about Skyrim is the map. Otherwise it's been a fun game to play, I really like the smithing feature in Skyrim.
  15. Well, been working on this for two days, after writing this topic decided to play around in the game, and the mod was working. No idea what was differen this time than other times, but now I'm off to find some good female armor mods for this skin.
  16. I will admit this is my first time adding a mod (I've only just started playing this game and love it, but wanted the female armor to look, well, feminine). I downloaded the file, no problem, read instructions, and here is where I ran into a problem. "To be safe - backup these two folders: Data\textures\actors\character\female Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets" I go to: steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data and no texture or meshes folders for me to back up, I can see a texture and meshes file which is a BSA file but I don't see any way to open those. Also the files from the download have a meshes and texture file folder, tried putting those folders (and files) into the data folder but nothing changed in the game. Am I missing something simple?
