  1. Ever install deadly dragons? And what level are you? Armor type?
  2. From what I've discovered, fShadowBiasScale is the scale of the orthogonal refraction index that illuminated objects cast upon each other at perpendicular angles. Valid, or even useful settings appear to range between 0.00 and 1.00 with defaults set to 0.15. I've found setting it to 1.00 to provide the best results. Of course, this will vary widely depending on your other settings. In the end, shadows in Skyrim basically fall into two categories; nice up close and non-existent a few paces away or entirely blocky up close and visible at vast distances. Ultimately, the minutiae is inconsequential because the biggest impact on settings/visible impact is fShadowDistance. Have fun with that.

  4. Solution: Problem 1) Play Sims 3. Problem 2) Add RAM. Problem 3) RTFM Mods. Profit??? :)
  5. Sex mods aren't my thing but I defend your right to use them. The rest of these "oh my gawd get help" people need to stfu.
  6. Might be a long shot but to me, this looks like a shadowbias problem. It does *veyr* weird things if the values are out of wack. Set it to 1.0 and see if it makes a difference.
  7. This is only in response to the OP, I didn't read all 5+ wall-of-text pages. I don't have to. The only thing that is certain is that you know nothing about business. You can be certain that Valve/Steam lobbied hard to have a title like Skyrim come to their platform. The money Steam was going to make as distributors was and is substantial. They aren't going to bicker over a silly issue like bandwidth. When you're running an operation like Steam, you're dealing with OC12/48 lines in major data centers around the world, we're talking industrial strength bandwidth - this ain't your daddy's modem. What is also certain is that the only thing that dictated Skyrim's "quality" (or lack thereof) is that it was ported to consoles. That fact alone meant that is was developed for the lowest common denominator. Skyrim could have been epic but Bethesda dumbed it down for consoles and they blew it. That has ZERO to do with Steam.
  8. I'm mostly amazed by the clothes here, amazing textures and I now wonder if they are from in-game at all. Agreed, face is fugly.
  9. Look what I just found, this looks ...nice clothes, face is narstay. http://skyrim.jpn.org/images/64/6499.png
  10. Just update Catalyst to 12.3, this is a known driver issue.
  11. Close all running Notepads (or INI edits) and run the SkyrimLauncher.exe and let it create the INIs you need.
  12. Weird. I have the same problem... http://www.allmotivated.com/pictures/Demotivational-pictures-bear_Spider.jpg
  13. You're doing it wrong. It's easy to gobble up 16GB, I do it all the time. Try this, make a 8GB ram drive and install Skyrim to it. Zoooooom. :)
  14. Glad it worked out, those are enough to get you started. According to this thread, and I can confirm it does have a positive impact, apply the 4gb patch once you're up to 1.5.26. After that, you're on your own for other mods that can/will bork your game. I just like to get the basics done, run around for a while, then start breaking things..! :)
  15. This is a known issue with the latest Catalyst driver. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13071 Disabling the AA in CCC will also fix this. This fix really needs to be stickied.
  16. It's less resource intensive, for sure. And honestly, I'd been using HD for so long, I found SRO to be a really nice change. Worth a look... As for the unofficial patch, it was here but was 'moderated', Dunno why, it's a really great patch.
  17. Unofficial Patch - It's terrific: http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/files/file/205-unofficial-skyrim-patch/ SMIM - Must. Have. Period. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8655 Skyrim Realistic Overhaul - Was running Skyrim HD for ages but SRO is better and more effecient IMO. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5400 CBBE v3 Curvy - Because in Tamriel, one MUST be hot and run around naked: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2666 WATER: It's pretty. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13268 That's Ice: Tried them all, this one is current and still the best. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5594 Those are the "safe" mods that shouldn't bork your game. Start with those. :)
  18. I'm working on a mod that may help you with this. Of course, that doesn't help you right now but it may be something to consider when it's ready. But I'll tell you this, disabling the music - as opposed to just setting the volume to 0 has a surprising effect on performance. I just need to work out a more user-friendly way of doing it. It drastically improves all load times, which is always good.
  19. The patch works well, they still have a pile of quest bugs and still have engine bugs (ahem - shadows!) but it runs very smooth. A couple of days ago I did a clean install and ran around for a few of hours with no freezing, no glitches or anything. It looked shockingly bad since I run every possible HD mod but it ran smooth. The mods really spoil us and that it runs at all considering all the mods we run is quite something.
  20. Your fShadowBiasScale is too low, it's probably 0.15 or something, set it to 1 so: fShadowBiasScale=1.0000
  21. Do it again and I'll sue you for royalties. :)
  22. Dude, I asked him nicely to use quotes and not for me but for anyone. Then he tells me I ripped someone else's post which I didn't and proved him wrong. Its not petty, its ethics.
  23. My age, gender, etc. is not the issue. You're a liar and a plagiarist. Stop copying posts without quoting the author.
  24. That is me on LL. Even still, you shouldn't quote a post without quoting the author. That's called plagiarism. This is my post: http://www.*site not allowed*/showthread.php?tid=6569 I would hardly call an ini setting for a game something that is plagiarized. Unless you wrote or entirely redid an ini then I think you are going to have to let this one go. I am however a bit tired of the arguments I seem to see from you Morwyn Kelm as I have run into them before. If you have a true issue with someone as you seem to think you had here, then you should report it. You don't get to engage in forum vigilantism as the ToS states and calling someone a liar among other things goes well beyond the bounds of perhaps having initial presented a complaint to them. So Strike 1 for you for forum vigilantism and if I run into anything else I may keep going. For the rest of you..enough of this. If I hear anything else about it even jokes I am going to start swinging the ban hammer.~Lisnpuppy
