  1. If you're going to repost my comments, quote me. Like this:
  2. http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Bash.html http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1331739-relz-wrye-bash-thread-88/ Start reading. And welcome to the wonderful world of modding. :)
  3. Something is still enabled because that method has always been fool-proof.
  4. Possibly a texture problem. Try renaming your data/textures folder to _textures and see what happens..
  5. Not only that, it reduced my save file by over half its size.
  6. Two words: BOSS and BASH. :) You're using a lot of 'core' mods changers. Armors, clothes and especially textures are very rarely a problem. Anything that changes mechanics or engine functions can be a big problem.
  7. I can only tell you what works for me. Fire your followers, strip naked - rings, amulets too, get into your Breezehome, make a new save. Leave the house, go back into your house. Save. Quit. Disable all your mods (Texture mods are fine) reload your save and re-save. Re-enable only the mods you want and load uo that newest save.
  8. I've seen nothing but problems while running Deadly Dragons, all versions. CTDs, bloat and all kinds of garbage. It's a lot of fun but it makes a real mess and I finally managed to dump it and "clean" my saves.
  9. Seriously. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=skyrim
  10. Todd Howard is a bold-faced liar. He's the biggest problem with Bethesda. How a spin-doctor like that becomes CEO is everything that's wrong with the world.
  11. Do I add it to Skyrimprefs.ini or Skyrim.ini? Also, I read that at least in Oblivion, that causes some stuttering. Read my post again, I said "Add/modify the following to your Skyrim.ini:" And keep in mind, I made those settings for a low-ram system. Adding more "stuff" isn't the solution here. When you're trying to fix a problem like this, remove mods, don't add them. ENB is easy to disable by simply renaming d3d9.dll to _d3d9.dll or something. Your situation is likely mod-related, post a list of the one's you're using. And btw, the music will continue sometimes even in a hard crash, audio is an entirely different sub-system.
  12. There are countless threads about this, I just wish they would sticky it finally.
  13. Sigh. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13071
  14. Very odd. Get the latest ENB from endev.com that has a newer d3d9. Also, in you card's driver panel, reset all settings to default.
  15. This is almost certainly a INI problem. To disable grass shadows, open Skyrim.ini and under display add [Display] bShadowsOnGrass=0 These may also help: SkyrimPrefs.ini [Display] bForceHighDetailGrass=0 bGrassPointLighting=0 bDrawShaderGrass=0 bForceFullDetail=0 bDoTallGrassEffect=0 If that doesn't work; Delete/backup Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini from your MyDocuments folder. Run the launcher, let it reset your settings. I run ENB/FXAA and have no problems with 1.5 on ATI. Edit: I run ENB 1.08.

  17. This is a known bug, the fix is posted above! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13071
  18. It doesn't affect AI on scripts that have already fired. This is why mucking with things like uGrids makes such a mess and will inevitably bork your game. bPreemptivelyUnloadCells will only affect cells that can be freed up because they are no longer needed. It's vital for low-ram systems.
  19. Pretty sure this is a RAM problem - or lack thereof. It's having to swap piles of information back and fourth because it's running out. Try this tweak: Add/modify the following to your Skyrim.ini: [General] iNumHWThreads=4 fMasterFilePreLoadMB=40.0000 iPreloadSizeLimit=52428800 bUseThreadedMorpher=1 bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1 bUseThreadedTempEffects=1 bMultiThreadMovement=1 bDisableAllGore=0 bTrackAllDeaths=1 bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1 The important function for you here is bPreemptivelyUnloadCells making the engine purge areas and material it doesn't need, freeing up some ram. Good luck. And btw, max out the ram on your motherboard and run Win7 x64 Home Premium. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Your system is beefy but it's crippled by the low ram available.
  20. I've been using HD Skyrim since day one but have just switched to this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5400 The textures are very rich and very detailed. It's a very worthy package and gives Skyrim a great makeover.
  21. The guard shack is near there also, it will work. Any small, simple and un-modded environment will work. Even a cave, but avoid areas that might be modded in some way. Good luck.
  22. Sorry, I've never used XCP so I don't know anything about it. When all else fails, I rename my /female/ folder and start re-adding files to a new /female/ folder one by one.
  23. So disable the hi res pack?
