In response to post #76730058. What do you want, a badge? Yet another know it all that thinks everyone should have the same grasp as he, let me tell you something, people are different and and MANY can't remember what they go to the toilet for... not everyone has the same outlook as you. Of the 20 million folks here a good number of them wouldn't understand what the hell you were talking about, they might not have spacebook, facetube or even read the bible. You're preaching to those that already understand and others that ain't listening and don't care. I've used the site for 15 years and I still know nothing.

In response to post #76661608. The recent one I alluded to below was "aborted connection to skyrim:gems.com because it was infected with HTML...' as below, or so Avast claimed.
-
As we're talking security here I figured I'd ask... Am I supposed to get... HTML:Scrips-inf [susp] when I visit Skyrim pages? Avast stopped it so I took a screenshot and checked it out, didn't sound too good. or is it something my end?

In response to post #76151748. I understand you're highlighting locking important stuff up but the reality is balance, the bad guys want something and they will find a way in, the more value your hoard the more the chances of attacks, asking for personal info and money what's making it worthwhile for those bad guys, if you don't bank on line you will only have cash taken from your pocket... much easier to look after that, if you don't need complex passwords you won't need to write them down or invite a 3rd party to look after them 'NO SERVICE IS FREE' Any information you give to anyone any site will be sold or stolen, this includes free VPN's and probably in some form paid ones too, any manager looking after your 'anything' will use your information for purposes you did not intend. Red pill.

In response to post #75841508. Yup, Well done on effectuating your 'Word for the Day' Bet you can't guess mine

In response to post #75838293. #75839753 is also a reply to the same post. So RockenJenAnn, if you ever have a family bereavement and the police come to tell you about it... seven weeks after the old man's stroke and later death you'll be ok with it will you? "well Ms RocketJenAnn, several weeks ago a close relative of yours had an accident, He suffered a stroke and the fell down the stairs and was admitted to Hospital with a suspected fractured skull and a bruised arm within the hour, during his stay he contracted pneumonia and died three weeks later from complications... we thought we'd wait until we had all the details before contacting you so we could be sure that he was dead!" Gooday maaaaaaaaam!

In response to post #75806633. #75806923, #75807088, #75807518, #75809163, #75810108, #75815753 are all replies on the same post. Acacophony, the obvious reason is because they'd just pissed off a ton of people with the forced password changes...so they let the water settle for a month or so first. I still say that the more data you collect on people the more data you have to be stolen/attacked for.

Getting rid of MCM menus for mods where I never change anything?
Saggaris replied to FishBiter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
No Idea! I can understand your problem though, my list is getting longer and I've been wondering if I could save the settings so I didn't have to go do them every single start... yeah, I'm a habitual restarter and it takes me about 20 minutes to set them all up, a death from an alternate start can come within seconds! -
I know it's rude to bump but I feel that out of the 18 million members Nexus has here someone should know what I'm talking about and know what I need to do! Please anyone!, point me to a tutorial if if you know of one, perhaps tell me what script or whatever it is I need to massage to get the results... Here's hoping for an answer!

Hi Guys, I hope to get some help on this as I'm kinda lost as to where to start. There's a quest where the player has to remove the Silverblood Sellsords out of the mine... you know the one? yeah well if you're high enough level threatening the gang boss...he leaves, I want to do a similar one for the straggling war camps... my Governor said if you see some clear em out, I'd like an option to ask them to leave... : War's over you people, you should go home, back to your families, I'll take your uniforms and give you clothes for you to wear instead, you can keep your weapons to protect yourselves from beasts and rabble you might meet on the road : Or you can be put to the sword here and now, I'd rather not, but the choice is yours. So assuming the war is over, and General Tullius says "I'm all done with you go do something else... oh and if you find any rebels still out in the wilderness put them to the sword" I don't know what Ulfric says but I imagine something similar. Then, off I go and spare a few lives... Where do I start, I don't mind that the mod has to be added after the war... timer stuff will probably addle my brain further anyway, Help anyone?

Occasionally, yeah, I just make a new save where I stand and exit game, it's OK when I get back with a reload, I figured it's my animalistic approach to running my game and take it on the chin.

It looks to me like at least one of the mods is causing a problem, and or you deleted something that Skyrim needs to run! I'd be inclined to drop all mods and installers, organisers, and cleaners and start a fresh, sometimes mods have dirty edits on purpose as a way of making things happen... or so I'm told, one of these tools might be responsible...or indeed might not, I don't know. Get the 'virgin' game running, (You may need to re-install Skyrim if something is missing) then pick a mod and install it, test run the game fresh, and so on until you know everything works, if you come across a mod that doesn't just drop into your data folder make sure you take note of everything in the download and be ready to find it and remove it, if it's going to overwrite something in your main folder back up the original first. I'm a bit of a caveman where it comes to mods, I install ALL of them myself and organise them through the Skyrim start menu, I never clean them and I rarely update a mod if it's working, I do all the things that we're told not to like dirty saves and install/uninstall and continue until it crashes, But I expect it to crash, it's entertainment not my life so I don't really care that much. But the one thing I've learned since installing Morrowind when it came out is, when playing a Bethesda game Save regularly and save clean often, don't just rely on quick save.
-
No joy here either eh? I'd have thought that someone with SSE would know something, perhaps the steam forums might be more helpful, still, my adding a comment here though might just bring it back into prominence for the Nexus brains. good luck fixing it.
-
This, as far as I'm concerned is what Bethesda games do... ever since Morrowind, there's an old saying from that time... Save often and save fresh.

Do you mean then when you double click the Skyrim icon on your desktop? because after that you should see on the screen the menu with Play options Data files Tech support exit Can you play from there? If that is where you can't select you data files then perhaps you need to sign into steam! It's best to ensure it's a 'legit' game, accounts should match up and all that stuff! Have you tried to get inside your main Skyrim folder on your C drive, there you will see all the dlls and Skyrim Application icons, have you tried to run Skyrim as Administrator from there? I know win7 demands crap like that, if you're on win10 you might seek help with that in the title, some have problems with it others don't
-
I've never heard of such a thing, You are using a PC aren't you? After you've downloaded the mod (best install and test one at a time) open you Steam path to Skyrim (usually on your C drive) and open 'Data' folder inside that... really just follow modders installation instructions, I choose to install manually without and organiser or whatever... but I'm a caveman! Just a thought, you're not able to access folders in game, you have to install before you start the game, sorry if I appear to be insinuating that you're dumb, I'm not, if you've only just started Skyrim stuff you might be use to other ways for modding other games. :)

Hi guys, I'm back demanding more yet again...lol Playing through yet another run through of Skyrim, I'm noticing more often now that in sneak mode I get to see a red dot on the HUD indicating an enemy is close by (dependent on what you consider close) and sometimes I can be seen by a NPC/Creature so the sneak eye is open but no indication of where it is... same really in not sneak mode, just more annoying in sneak, when you find it's a Mudcrab over the other side of the river that keeps going underground for a quick nap! So I'm proposing :An extra couple of HUD dots Green for NPC that doesn't want to kill you but has seen you and Blue for an Animal/Creature that also doesn't wan to kill you but has seen you! :The second part of the mod would be placing those in front of you as nearer the top of the compass bar and those behind you nearer the bottom! Could you see yourselves using this if it were an option perhaps in SkY UI?

I guess someone with a knowledge of scripting could work something out for a daily routine, you know, housework (guys could do it too), bit of gardening, walk into town, go to the inn for lunch, back home sleep off mead... that sort of thing, perhaps even go to the shop and sell off the crap you bought home for a reasonable price (if you had a marked chest in your home) but many modders are adverse to using too many scripts... apparently it slows the PC down or something. I don't know of any other way to do something like that, but yeah, it could be good, I never married in Skyrim though... real life is quite enough! Edit: if it were a request in the requests section... lol
-
It could be a load order thing, you haven't mentioned a time when everything was good so I'm kinda guessing it's a recent install with all the mods you knew you liked and some new ones, could be conflicts with load order, it might be worth using nexus to visit the mods you've downloaded and look at the comments pages, I've seen plenty of players that claim a mod causes a CTD... it usually gets sorted out there, it might be worth a try. As for MO2 I don't know what it does or how well it does it... same with LOOT, cleaners and all, I'm a bit of a cave man, I install everything myself and cuss when I bugger it up blaming the world  I hope someone else joins the discussion soon as I can't see me being the help you need... lol
-
Now don't go thinking I have an answer for you... but it sounds to me as though is missing something vital, like, it's looking for something common and can't find it... wallop CTD, I have LE with a ton of mods and an i5, 3.5, 1050 card but with only 8gb ram (my slots buggered) and it runs smooth all day! I'd start the (not so long) process of elimination with your mods, most recent first, if you put a ton of mods on at the install and have trouble then perhaps drop off the bottom half of the mods and play till you break it, then do half of whats left... and repeat, even with 200 mods it can be covered quite quickly, the only problem will be the load order... make a note of it before dropping any. I could be wrong, I have been in the past and I will be in the future, but it could be worth a try for an unplayable game.

Hi guys, Help please, I'm not new to Skyrim or modding, and have disabled the tutorial in the ini in the past, and everything was fine... but a new install seems to ignore my ini change... [interface]bShowTutorials=0can someone help please, it's driving me nuts as I'm a habitual restarter...one life bloke Thanks in advance

Fantasti....Awwwww it only works for SSE, I got all excited then, and even wondered why my file search hadn't come up with it.. you guessed it! I don't have SSE and I exclude SSE mods from my search. Well, I guess there's still hope that we might get a conversion (obviously I haven't tried it to see if it fits the bill) Damn, I wish I had a brain that worked for modding.
-
yeah But, it's a mod request not a feature question It's not really what I was referring to, and the spell isn't available at the start, and I was thinking along no magic characters, while I appreciate it would be a kinda work around. but if others think like you that we've got it covered with magic then it's gonna be a short lived request... I thought there might have been an interest in the fun side of the mod.
